Today I got my brothers unlimited data plan and decided to try out how fast it is. When I stream HD YouTube videos it takes like 10 seconds for a video to start playing. While on WiFi it instantly starts playing.
I did the speed test on both WiFi and 4G and 4G beats WiFi completely. (Attached below)
What's the problem? I'm not sure could it be the version of YouTube?

Haven't had any problems with that yet - just tested playing a video, in HQ, and it worked fine. I had tried playing Youtube in the browser earlier, and that seemed to work pretty well also.
thanks for the replying. whatever was causing the problem seems to have vanished somehow and I just now found out that I live just outside of the HSPA+. If I go down the street a few blocks my data speed jumps up GREATLY. Ain't that some crap...
Got another strange problem.my voicemail icon won't go away. Anyone ever had this issue?

Yeah I had that problem. Try sending yourself a voicemail and it should go away.
Im in Iraq currently, and dont have access to fast wifi. also it is capped at 8gb per month. i can never enjoy a youtube video because it always goes for the hd version, and i have to uncheck the hd button. after this happens, it usually takes literally 3 to 5 min for it to switch to a normal stream and load a portion of the video. there is an optionfor mobile networks in settings, but no option for wifi that i can see. am i missing something?
I also asked this over at motor support.
I bought my Tab 7.7 3 days ago. Its the 16GB 3G variant. Gtalk video just refuses to work. It will initiate the call and then just close the call window when the other party answers. The same thing occurs when I receive a Gtalk video chat request and answer the call. It usually shows a black screen where the other contact's video feed should be showing and occasionally shows my face and sometimes does not. But it always, always closes the chat window after I answer or the other person answers. I tried updating the firmware to the latest European version, LA3, but the problem persists.
I know that it's not a problem with my connection since my Galaxy Note is able to pull of Gtalk video chats without a hitch and Skype video works fine on both the Tab 7.7 and the Note.
I would really appreciate any feedback on your experiences with Gtalk video on the 7.7 since it is my second most frequently used app.
Anyone? Is Gtalk video chat working properly for all of you?

I just tried it from my tablet to my sister computer and it worked perfectly over wifi.
Unfortunatly i dont think it works over 3g though.
I think your "problem" is the other persons Internet speeds. I did just have a perfect conversation with my sister but whenever i try and call my mom in Malaysia it tends to be very hit and miss if it is going to work or not.

Worked fine for me - both Voice & Video chat. This was between 2 SG 7.7 6810 tabs over Wifi. One was LA2 & other KL5.

Thanks for the responses guys!
I found out that maxing the image stabilization slider causes some problems with the camera drivers and may cause the Gtalk app to hang sporadically. It also results in a wonky picture. Turning the stabilization slider to minimum seems to have improved the stability of the Gtalk app and I tested it in a Gtalk video chat between the tab and a laptop over WiFi yesterday and found it to be working fine. Still having audio issues with my gf, so it's possible that her connection or my 3G data plan is the culprit. The funny thing is that I havent had the same issues over 3G with my Galaxy Note.
So last 2 days Pandora have not been working on 3g so I tried today and works on WiFi fine. Now my reception is fine. Says loading.. them goes to 1 or 2% for loading and stays there. Then goes to the next song. So I cleared the app cache and data. Nothing changed. Uninstalled and reinstalled. Same thing. Any ideas. I'm on sprint and I use WiFi all the time and under 1 gig on 3 g. I use Pandora on my motorcycle rides so this is bumming me out as I deleted my mp3s on my sd card by accident and my computer that had about 10 gigs I can't get past the boot screen.

I just tried Pandora; I'm in the Atlanta area. The first song buffered 1% - 40% then started, the second song just started w/o buffering.
maybe sprint is working on towers in your area for the LTE upgrades??
also I have v1.6 installed of Pandora

I wish about three lte upgrade. Live 50 miles from Milwaukee is on the list. I downloaded slacker radio and works fine. So don'tknow. I'll be using that even though I like Pandora better. Thanks

Pandora seems to buffer the songs fine for me, but for some reason (stock rom) when I get a phone call, and then it goes back to play (which it does fine) I cannot open Pandora to quit...strange...
That is strange.

Pandora
I had the issue as well. I live in Puerto Rico, and the Sprint Network here is really bad... That aside, the main reason of that issue is cuz of poor data connectivity (Intermittent). I switched carrier (to ATT), problem solved.
Bottom line, If the tower that you are connected is not working that well, pandora, gtalk or any other service will give you problems. Does Gtalk sign you out frequently?.

Weird issue. This problem sounds like that one.
In a way it does I guess. But with his phone being another country and stuff I would think it's unrelated. I also can browse the Internet fine even load and browse the play store watch videos there and all. Mail works great. Just seems to be downloading and that YouTube issue
Forgot to mention Netflix works great too. Also straight talk uses att towers so the phone is fully compatible with the bands
It has something to do with download manager I'm pretty sure. Is everyone's version the same as this on att? It says 9005 though makes me think it's wrong.
