Have you tried re-downloading the tool? If that doesn't work then make sure all your drivers are installed, and make sure fastboot it working! If none of that works then try it on a different computer!

i just messed something up while testing several custom roms for my Zenfone5 so actually i cant write system neither by "sideload" nor by "fastboot flash system". i always get the a mistake like:

Actually i cant find a mistake by myself. Is it located in my PC or in my phone? i already searched for an errorlist for fastboot but that doesn't get me any results...

What's the command you're running?
I get the same error running this command:
fastboot.exe flash recovery recovery.img
I cant erase this partition too. When i run this:
fastboot.exe erase recovery
I get this:
FAILED (remote: unable to format)

Can you post a link to recovery you are trying to flash? (I will test it)
Can anyone help me out? I tried to install CM 13.1 in Zenfone 5 but when it gets to "writing boot" the following message appears:
FAILED (remote: flash_cmds error!)
How could i solve this? txs everyone

if u want to flash custom rom
all u need is to unlock bootloader
take a look on this thread using auto.bat for unlock bootloader!

after unlocked try flash TWRP again
to confirm success unlocked not!
if fail it will show error failed
just follow step by step read thru!

I have a problem with the phone ls980 . It updated the wrong way and I have a fastboot problem
But I fixed it with srktool . Process and has successfully
now the download mode work good but When I have flash this phone withe tot file and dll file ( ls980 )
the flash tool show me error 'laf read gpt' on 6%
I have to use everything but the same thing happened
- Using a new file dll LGUP_8974 but no think hapend
- using a new tot file but same probleme
- When in use fastboot mode and flash or erase any partition like lif.recovery.... the cmd show me error message ' remote: failed to erase partition'

Okay my freind and i tried to root this g4 and a internet user told me that this method also works for normal g4's. But now we have a brick, when we're starting the device it says:
ERROR: Failed to pass validation, backup to fastboot
Failed to vertify hab image boot
failed to validate boot image.
We're now downling a stock firmware, the name is: XT1622_ATHENE-TESCO_MPJ24.139-23.4_cid50_subsidy-TESCOEU_CFC.xml.zip
I don't know if it's the right, but bootloader says athene_13mp XT1622b and ATHENE_EMEA_DSDS_CUST
Is this the right one? How can we recover it when it's the wrong?
Can anybody help us?

Hi! I had the same problem , and recently I managed to solve it. for me I just installed a different rom stock (not official ) and the problem was solved!

Both of they worked for me (Yeah i tested the both).
Dont forget that this erases your celphone data.

tell about your situation detailed. what method did you try to root the phone? did you unlock the bootloader first? which version of supersu did you flash? did you flash recovery first and is it working?..... in any case, unlocking the bootloader and flashing the twrp/cwm recovery followed by stock firmware flash should help. provide more details.

good morning if someone could help me ..I want to go back to rom stock from lineage so .. I miss the flash of a file and now it stays in erecovery without giving me another option, I tried to fastboot in install but I get this error FAILED ( remote: Command not allowed) .. and I have the frp lock ..
