I updated to this firmware a couple of days ago, since this version is March build and whenever I update I always do a factory reset and wipe cache. But I think this must be a system problem :-S

Same problem here, since the update with 4.4.2 ITV firmware in Odin my battery life sucks because of Android System (19% today) and Android OS (12%). I was unable to find any indication on how to fix this anywhere. :crying:
However those two are preventing the phone getting into deep sleep mode!
Any solution guys?

Your drainage is about the apps running in background (bloatware) and the brightness screen. Disable system apps through Settings - More - Application Manager - Tab ALL and disable apps that u installed (You can use Greenify app for it) :highfive:

Have you tried a factory reset?
You can roll back to 4.1.2 if you want, but you have to use an efs v2 modem firmware. Any modem firmware from EMG4 and after.

This and I wouldn't suggest you to revert back also because 4.3 contains new drivers,so you will lose some good gaming performance.
Also, always wait a little. Every time you install a new firmware, you always have to wait at least 1 week and phone finally will get used to new firmware,so it will become stable.

Of course...
Try a factory reset first.
Backup all of your important stuff from your internal storage > Factory reset > Transfer everything important back.
4.3 is a quite nice firmware for the S3, so a factory reset should clean things up a bit.
Can anyone explain backing up efs and then going back to 4.1.2.
Also if any risk is involved.

There is definitely a risk in downgrading as your efs partition might get corrupt.
I would say factory reset first.
I'm 100% sure 4.3 is better than 4.1 in terms of everything.
as i had heard the new bootloader from 4.3 does not allow to downgrade your device
so how can u now do it without rooting the device

If your phone is laggy after factory reset I would say flash the firmware again via ODIN and then do a factory reset.
Download your firmware from sammobile.com

its not that hard,u will get many threads on xda regarding how to root your phone
basically u will need a software called odin
through odin u will need to flash a recovery like twrp, cwm or philz touch
these recoveries are available on xda in zip files
after the process has been completed your phone will be rooted and at every boot u will see a red exclamation mark inside a triangle on the top left side of screen
just follow the steps properly and u will do it safely
good luck

Yes it does, I downgraded from 4.3 to 4.1.2 just fine with odin.
I will never downgrade as 4.3 has new drivers and some new designs which I like (except settings).
is battery life and performance is still same/improve as 4.1.2 ????

Device is modified?

My note 3 is running the belgian 4.4.2 I downloaded from Sam mobile and flashed with odin, though the phone says it is a custom rom and when I click check for updates it also says phone is modified.
Anyone know what the problem is here and how I can restore ota updates?
The phone was rooted when i was on 4.3 but I have flashed first the Polish and then the Belgian 4.4s via odin

You can't go back to JB from KK... You may as well have said to connect to Kies and let that fix it...
To the Op, check if your Knox warranty void has been tripped, if it has you may as well root and install a custom rom and/or recovery, or at the very least xposed framework.
You can't reset theKnox but you can use a mod to trick the system into thinking its official which will allow OTA updates. You may need a couple of things to be active so the OTA will install but I'll let you look that up.

Used to read about a bug on samsung phones where if it contains too many files it would show system status as modified. Try transfer as much as your files from phone memory into sdcard then remove it. Then check again system status. It sounds crazy but i'm pretty sure that's my understanding from the thread

Strange, when flashing back to complete stock everything goes back to official (bar knox of course) - did you try the xeo? It's possible if you've used another firmware (carrier or country) the device may not like it.
Also a complete wipe may help too.
Sent from my SM-N9005 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Well when I reflashed and it didn't work I did a factory reset and cleared the cache to no prevail.
What's the xeo mate?

Mine is the same. I went to stock because my official kit kat came out. VIA O2 germany.
Still says custom. Might root and try triangle away. Not sure if I want to re set all back up again today though

Possibly, if they've changed it. That's put the sh...ter up everyone now.. darn Samsung! ! Blergh. . They love alienating people huh.

Kitkat gets stuck sometimes

Hello everyone,
I live in Israel, and recently I got a KitKat update for my N900.
At first, everything was OK, but now, I can see the system stutters from time to time.
I have tried to clear cache but it didn't solve the problem.
I'm not rooted, and on 4.4.2 KitKat, baseband version : N900xxudnb1
build number: N900xxudnc1.
Formatting the phone is not an option for me while I can't backup any app data...
Will appreciate any help!

if you just update from 4.3, AFAIK, factory reset from stock recovery is the best .
but since you don't want to do that, I have no idea.

Microphone issue

I have an Indian variant Note 4 running marshmallow 6.0.1 with the latest updates.
I'm experiencing an issue related to microphone.
When my phone boots microphone works fine but if i don't use my device for some time like 2-3 hours then i could use microphone only for voice calling but not for internet calling(WhatsApp, fb messenger,Skype, etc) and for recording audio or video. Also cant launch okay google with hotword during this time and unable to give voice commands. Then when i restart the device microphone starts working completely fine for all these.
