SMS not working on Verizon Note 3 w/ T-Mobile LTE - Verizon Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I hope someone here can help me. I just got Verizon's Note 3, and popped in my T-mobile Sim card and everything setup perfectly for data and phone calls. My one stopping point is Text messages. Every time i send out a text it fails on me. I even did a full wipe and did not do anything but try to send out a text so it would be a clean OS, and still no good. Did I miss something. It looks like I can receive most (if not all) text, but it text minimum of 30 trys to get one to reply back. This is a huge issue and could use some big help. Also I am on the stock OS, all I did was root, and put on safestrap. Thanks!

Not receiving text messages :S

hi my phone has been good but for the whole of today i havent been able to receive any text messages. i can send them fine and email seems to be working fine as well. When I got home I put my sim into my old phone and after a little while i received the 8 messages.
What could be up? do i need to send the phone back?
when i put the sim back in my phone is was working again.
When it wasnt working I had already tried turing phone on and off.
Also unrelated but I have had some weird problems with my phone not working with bluetooth properly. It will pair easily and work fine but then (again today) my paired devices were not connecting and I had to delete the pairing and add them again for it to work.
Just bumping once to see if anyone else has had this problem and has any suggestions.

i have had the same problem with not receiving texts on my galaxy s. though mine was just from one number. after the usual helpful advice of switching off and on removing sim card etc it still wasnt working. putting the sim in a new phone worked and the only way to get the samsung working again was to reset everything to factory. This lasted about a week and then it's happened again this morning.
Ive checked my blocked contacts and its empty and vodafone/samsung aren't being especially helpful.
It would appear a factory reset is the only thing that sort of works.
hope this helps
Same problem here, i just received 20 messages from up to 3 days ago.
Stock Rom, Rooted
Could be a provider issue tho...
Anybody still having this problem. Mine just started this a week ago. Only hard reset fixes it.
Hmm, I've been having similar issues, with texts not being received and all calls being forwarded straight to voicemail. A day later I get a barrage of texts and voicemails.
This has happened about 2 or 3 times now
A friend of mine had this problem, or something like it (she didn't really describe it in detail). In any case, she was told (by Optus) to connect the sim card to another phone (turn it on), and then put it back on the SGS.
I've just had this problem with the Galaxy S (stock Eclair) on Three(UK). Stopped getting text messages yesterday but could still send messages, emails, browse the web etc.
Bit the bullet this morning and factory reset. Two minutes later I received about twenty text messages.
Seems like this may be a problem with the Galaxy S. If it happens again the phone is going back for something else.
Maybe Froyo will sort it out once Three have worked out how to get it distributed.
Bump.
I don't receive certain messages from my girlfriend when she texts me, i do receive others though, it's highly annoying. I'm on giffgaff (O2) at the moment and running Ficeto's JVH rom 2.3.3
Any ideas why this is happening?
i have experienced this too. . . fixed it by switchin network mode to gsm instead of auto. . .
maybe my area has weak wcdma signal. . .

I am guessing your old phone isn't a Samsung ? I was having the same problem and I figured it out. Samsung phones don't receive texts when a full number is put in. +1-555-555-5555. This is the number format Facebook uses. So if the person texts you using your Facebook linked number you'll never get it. Bravo Samsung! Bravo.

Help please. Can't send texts

I have attic 4g unlocked running cm7 nightly build 20 on straight talk network. They turned off my data and I had to call in to turn it back on. Now my data is working fine but text messages I send out are not being received. I am not getting error when sending and it looks like they go through. I have removed sim cards multiple times and even wiped data and reinstalled cm7. I called straight talk and they said texting is activated. Don't know what else to try.
Go back to your inbox... do you see a red cross by any of your texts? If not, call your operator to see if they can see if you have sent any.
Also try sending from another phone, do they go through?
Sounds like a network level issue and not a phone one.
Great I have to speak to the non English talking people again, so frustrating

[Q] MetroPCS: Everything works except multi part SMS texts.

Hello all. I want to say this site has helped me 100 times over and the guides to get stuff like a DROID 2 on MetroPCS is awesome. I did the ESN add and all the MMS and WEB support to EDGE speeds, but just recently saw the new PRL lists and rocking 3G speeds (450-690kbps down) here in Stockton, CA. So another big thank you to the tutorials here..
My only issue, and its a small one but annoying. I tried searching here and google to no avail..
When I send a standard 1 part text it goes through no problem. But if my text goes over and my DROID tells me it will be 2 messages I get a delivery fail. I thought maybe the phone would auto split the message but maybe it is handled different by MetroPCS? I have friends with stock Metro phones that can do 2 even 3 part long SMS texts no problem. Is there a simple fix or something I just have to live with? It's no big deal as everything else works, just sucks to stop yourself mid sentence then continue on.
Thank you so much for this forum!

[HELP] Problems Receiving Text Messages on T-mobile's $30 Prepaid Service

Well as the title says, I've been having issues receiving texts messages on the $30 prepaid plan.
What happens:
-I will randomly not receive a text message, or I will receive it days later(if I turn my phone on after being off all night), or I will receive a message that is one half the current message and one half an old message from days/weeks ago(the are intertwined).
-It happens complete sporadically, no rhyme or reason. It happens at my apartment, while I'm sitting at work, or at the gym. At my lowest signal level I will have 2 bar remaining of "3g" but it's usually around 3 (I'm in Pittsburgh).
What I've tried so far to fix it:
-I had T-mobile swap out for a new sim card.
-I've contacted T-mobile customer service twice. They've "refreshed" my connection to their network, reset my sim, played with my account, etc.
-I'm using Chomp SMS as my messaging app. The issues also occurred when using the stock messaging app.
-I've cleared the cache for both apps.
What I haven't tried and what you may need to know:
-I haven't played with the APN settings all. As far as I know all of those settings are set straight from/by T-mobile.
-I'm not rooted
-I've had this problem intermittently since buying the nexus4 from google in Nov.
-My original nexus 4(which I RMA'ed) also had the problem- looking back I just thought it was the other persons phone. Which makes me believe it's on T-mobiles end, or at least a tweak in an APN setting?
-Zero issues with call clarity, data speeds. All have been perfectly fine.
-It doesn't seem to matter which carrier the person who is sending me the message is on.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Or has anyone else experienced similar issues? I'd like to hope that there's a simple fix that doesn't require me changing to ST and using AT&T but I guess if I have to... I have too. I'm at a complete loss as to what else I could try in order to fix this.
All help, tips, suggestions are welcome. Thank guys!

I have had this issue on and off with SMS messages and "Waiting Voice Mail" messages over the years (mostly on pre-smartphones and G1). All you can really do is reboot the phone often (at least once a day). I think it's related to messages sent while your phone has no service, but not 100% sure.
For 3 yrs with a half dozen smartphones I had texting issues with tmo and now on straight talk tmo it is the same thing.
It hasn't been as bad as you seem to have it but there do sometimes seem to be heavy delays.

HELP. 6P not receiving texts/BLANK SMSC

To start, I'm on Android 7.0 using the September security patch and am rooted.
Never had an issue with this phone before. Ever since yesterday morning I have not been able to receive anyone's text messages. I'm not sure about MMS but I haven't gotten any of those either. The weird thing is that I can SEND texts just fine....and I can also send text messages to myself and they come through.
After digging and researching I accessed that hidden settings menu by typing *#*#4636#*#* into my dialer and looking at the SMSC number which should be for Tmobile, my provider, +12063130004. However, it's blank and I'm unable to change it. Hitting "update" gives me an "update error" in the field and if I hit refresh I get "+12063130004",145 with the quotes and the 145. If I hit update from there and reboot it's still blank. If I put in +12063130004 and reboot it's still blank.
I have data, I can make and receive calls and surf the web. So far I've tried switching sms apps to no avail. I'm currently using google messenger. I've tried removing the sim and placing it back in. I went in to TWRP wiped cache, dalvich cache and data and it did nothing. Finally I reverted to a nandroid I made about a month ago when sms was working fine and it's still not working.
I'm out of ideas fellas. At my wit's end here!
Oh, I should also let you know that I think this all started when my girlfriend sent me a text message that i received yesterday morning. It was the last text I was able to get......she's on a cruise so she sent it somewhere near mexico....I think it made my phone have a massive brain fart and I'm not sure how to fix this bug. Please help!!
No one? I've found nothing on the web..
This may sound obvious, but have you tried using a factory image to return to stock?
Sounds like you've done everything but that.
I suppose you could also try deleting your APN and manually entering a correct one for your carrier. That's helped me in the past on other devices when I've had weird data/service issues.
Funny you asked. I did a full wipe and returned to stock on the latest November build. Still a no go. People still get my texts and I can still use data/make and receive calls fine. I'll try the APN suggestion now.
As far as APN's go, I tried to reset them to default. I even tried deleting all of them except for the one I was using which in the past for other devices helped with certain issues. I then created a custom APN setting that I found on the 6p forum that helped other users with SMS/MMS issues....no help for me.
I can still send SMS,mms, make and receive phone calls. No idea what to do!!!
I have a similar but different issue. I can receive messages just fine. But sometimes when i send messages id say about 40% of the time my message gets stuck at the "sending" and it takes sometimes up to 10min for it to send. I can speed the process up if i go to the secret menu and toggle the radio off and on.
Im on ATT BTW. I thought it had something to do with ATT shutting down the 2G network and the phone getting confused as to which network to send messages on but im no expert its just a theroy.
PS. I had this problem pop out of nowhere. Had it start randomly on PN6 (last build) so i upgraded to PN7 same thing on 2 different versions of the ROM. And now im on SuperAx 7.1 and still have the issue.
Ive always had problems with Nexus's and messages. When i had the Nexus 5 i actually had to warranty it out because MMS all of a sudden would not work at all.
I received one text today from someone. That's it. Not getting all the missed sms messages and not getting any additional sms messages.
