It's "false" reporting (probably due to BT LE being implemented) and NOT "draining" battery. For some reason, LG and Broadcom seem to have minor issues with the BCM4335... which handles BT/FM/WiFi and Baseband.... take your pick at which one LG have forked up. Irrespective, not a real issue. Just a minor reporting bug.

Oh okay, so there's no way to get rid away from this ?

i got a bad battery performance when updated to KitKat LG (rooted & custom recovery) D80220B
the drainage is faster as compared to JB LG or even AOSP rom like Mahdi or PA..
perhaps thats due to Bluetooth bug as someone has reported earlier..

My battery performance isn't bad but I didn't tested jb because I'm new on this LG and I directly installed kit Kat on it..
Envoyé de mon LG-D802 en utilisant Tapatalk

I get approximately 6h screen on with KitKat is it ok ? Or it should be more ? And battery life between jb and KitKat official is noticeable ? And which between aosp and official KitKat is better in battery life too ?
Envoyé de mon LG-D802 en utilisant Tapatalk

I would recommend an app called GSAM Battery Monitor. It will monitor exactly which apps are using your bluetooth, GPS, etc. You can use it to see exactly what app is draining your bluetooth.

If it's false reporting then it's causing me to go from 7-9 on screen time to 3 hours while using the exact same settings I used on jb. My reported usage wasn't 5%. It was 18%. Cell idle battery usage went all the way up to 16%. Back on 4.2.2 and currently am at 70% and 3hrs and 30mins screen on time. In my case I'd say it's more than false reporting.

Depends on several things - such as what actual KK ROM you are using, how you "flashed" it and so on. OTA is a very poor upgrade method, for instance, and leaves loads of crap behind. People with Audio issues. BT issues and Touch screen issues may find that flashing a fully Stock ROM kdz following a complete wipe resolves these. And 20B appears to be somewhat more "robust" too.

New malaysia 4.1.2 firmware having great battery performance.

Hi, im stay at malaysia, recently sammobile confirmed that the latest 4.1.2 firmware update having more faster battery drain than previous (4.1.1).
But im really wonder why i got opposite feedback from 2 malaysia user regarding the lastest 4.1.2 ugrade.
Both of my friends just a normal smartphone user. They dont know about rooting and custom rom. They completely using everthing stock as provided by samsung.
They both told me and showed me that their on screen time able to last 7 hours ++ with 3g data fulltime on. Whole circle of battery usage able to last longer about 26 hours.
But for your information they both not the type of heavy gamer. They both just will keep browsing, facebook and social chatting.
From their feedback, the lastest ugrade having better battery performance than 4.1.2.
Im not asking a question here, but just for sharing. Since myself never officially ugrade thru kies or ota.
Im wonder samsung has did some minor tweak on malaysia latest 4.1.2 firmware.
Maybe some of the n7100 developer might gonna use that build as a based to build custom rom.
Thank you.

I'm running a custom ROM based on XXDLL7 on my SGH-I317M (Canadian Note II) and the battery life is just as good, if not slightly better than it was before. I did a full wipe after flashing, so perhaps old data from 4.1.1 is what is causing some people to have issues.

You are right, im always suggest my friend perform factory reset after ugraded from ota or kies.
But this case a bit different. They never perform factory reset after ugraded. But still having experienced that battery performance much more better than 4.1.1.

This is True, most People getting 10hrs screen time with 3days on are not using 3g data and no sync and so on, everything is depending on how you use your Phone even when you don't use it.

Hmm...about the factory reset after ugraded, i think this is very subjective. Since samsung never advice their user need to perform this.
But for myself, i will perform and download again all the previous app to make sure everything running properly without any fc.

I totally agree with you. I f you are not using the functions of 'SMARTPHONE' what is the use of your phone? Is it just to show how much battery you conserved? Can anybody show 6 Hrs. of internet and 8 hours of videos in this so called battery life of 3 'days'?
I just cannot understand why people are running so much after battery life?
If you use you lose that is the law!
It can be understandable if without using anything one is losing the battery then it certainly is an issue.
IMHO those who conserve battery do not enjoy their phones at all!!!
That's true, that's why the new fw is such a pain in the ass with its poor battery!

Thanks for all posted comment. All solid opinion and experienced.
Actually im just wanna to sharing that, it was proof that ( from samobile.com) the latest 4.1.2 having poor battery performance if compare to 4.1.1. But in another way, my both friends also proof to me that they having significant improvement of battery performance from the latest 4.1.2 malaysia firmware. ( im personally checked their battery status and they are not lie to me).
We should put aside the battery performance for certain rom, kernel, personal setting and personal usage.
Since they having the same setting and same installed app as previous after ugraded to 4.1.2. And they also using the phone like usual or before upgraded.
So from my point of view, im just wanna find out isnt it the latest 4.1.2 malaysia firmware might having some different tweak from samsung than other 4.1.2 build such as LL7?

This is kinda a good news though.
For this time I can't upgrade my SGN2 firmware either via Kies or OTA.
I don't know what's wrong but I figure out something later.
I'm using my SGN2 on Stock Rom and for me SGN2 Stock Rom (4.1.1) is quite good.
Usage :
Full Charge - 0830
Mobile Data On - 1000
Activity - 1100 ~ 2200 - Viewing Facebook, texting a bit in Whatsapp, web browsing
On call - 2200 ~ 0000
Phone Standby - 0000 ~ 0730
And I still have another 6% of battery.
Can't wait to update the firmware.
:good:

Exactly. Everything is an anecdote unless the battery life was tested via an app like Battery Monitor Widget before and after the update for at least several days to register the consumption per hour in both standby and regular use.
Anything else, especially screen time, is purely subjective.
anyone facing after upgrade, phone will auto restart or shut down by itself?
I don't have any battery issue with DLL7. Battery consumption was the same even with DMA5. Even now with DMA6 consumption still the same.

Battery consumption is not my main concern. Most important for me is that I use and abused my note2 to my heart's content and enjoy using it. I'm happy that my battery can last for a day. I charge my N2 when I'm in the car, office and at home. This has been going on since I bought it last October'12. I have not notice any difference at all in battery consumption in all updates right from the stock 4.1.1 rom that came with it.

Apart from the new bloatware and the loss of root access, I have absolutely nothing to complain about.

That's interesting, how long were you using the German version before you were aware of the drain? And did you flash this one in the same way, mobile Odin with no wipe etc...
As I did wonder whether doing a clean slate flash and wipe would have helped matters with the German variant. I might give this one go if the vibes are positive.

The battery on the German version was also not different...I was just responding to the queries above....flashed the German rom the day it came out
...I flashed both the roms using PC odin..Didn't root my note 8 yet...Didn't really feel the need. ...But funnily on either rom can't get to wipe cache...getting error..so no manual wipe,..But believe PC odin does wipe cache

It's largely the same. As in, pretty good. I have used the original EUR 10B, then subsequently 10E and 10F.
Most of the battery issues are down to Apps misbehaving and old Google services.
One thing 10E and 10F did improve on was the FM Radio - these later ROMs have later Broadcom drivers.
Kernel is dated later than 10B kernel, but no difference.
For interest, I did a direct comparison between Eur 10B and EUR 10E here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582892 - loads of "changes" but not much in terms of functionality.
Thanks! I'm desperately trying to find a way to improve battery life without disabling knock on. I refuse to believe it's the culprit.

Maybe Phone Carrier
I think it's maybe related to your carrier too. They change something in the ROM to make compatible with network then release to your phone. For International and Korean Version is ok. But can you try to reset, if the problem still exist?
I have sprint and have been dealing with same issue since kk update. I don't even use bluetooth, always off, but yet saying keep awake 5hrs on a battery cycle.
I only experience it when I have wifi on at the same time, its weird.
From my experience on my phone, it's just a wrong reporting. Even with BT allegedly draining according to the battery stats, my battery life is still the same as before.

That was to patch the link sent via messages and when you opened the video it would "harm the system" and if you used hangouts, it would automatically harm it due to hangout opening the video ahead of time for quicker viewing. It was an issue within the core of Android, not the OEM, itself and has been a 'vulnerability' for quite some time but was just exposed not too long ago.
Got the Patch and the 5.1.1 update, good deal.
Please report back the responsiveness and overall feel. I just might make the leap if they got Lolliflop right with this update.

The GPS location error is definitely sprint, had this problem for years where it would put me at Burbank, CA when I live in Las Vegas, NV. However when travelling to a different area of Vegas, that seemed to put me in Las Vegas. Now when at home it puts me at Dana Point, CA. Lol.
I did a test, had at least 20+ apps running, pressed the recent apps key, and it opened immediately. Usually with that heavy activity, I would be waiting anywhere from 15-30 seconds to pop up. One thing I am waiting to see is if it freezes on me. Had a few instances where apps were making the screen not respond. Seems much faster with the update though.

I've been running it for the past few hours. GPS works and the BT audio bug looks to have been fixed. The UI is smooth as glass. Has Sammy/Sprint finally gotten it right?
I tried to root, and phone rebooted but said su binary was missing. Tried routing with su in twrp and bootlooped. Tried reinstalling bof5 and can't go back. Going to install rom through twrp and wait for stock rooted.

So you can flash TWRP via Odin right? I would not care too much about not being to flash back to OF5 since I have a phone that lags severely after a few days of running stock OF5. I would just want the ability to flash CM12.1.
SD card Wiped
Did the 5.1.1 and my SD card was mostly wiped. Pics and music gone. Funny thing is, some things are still there such as carbon backup files. I'm not exactly thrilled.
5.1.1 kills cf-auto root... It did the same with the note edge.. Kernel exploit is the only way to root..
Loving the new updage so far. Not laggy at all. Now for the battery test.

Are my only options to

2) wait till the new update is available to flash?

I odined stock unrooted OF5 and it's getting the OTA update now. So that works.
Phone feels much snappier. Recent apps menu opens instantly. Camera seems to open a bit faster.
Are we not going to get RAW support like the newer phones are getting? Thats some BS if not.
