I fail to see why that would be caused by a problem of odin or cfroot.

Anyway I really wonder how Odin+CF Root will damage your usb connector. Your cable is problematic, not Odin.
He is saying that odin didn't recognize the problem with his usb. Perhaps something that could be improved upon. Could've been explained better though
I has a sig
Dear all,
Clearly odin cannot dommage physicaly a usb cable or we are all together living inside the Matrix.
What i try to explain is that my computer have a usb port not well configured. I try to use odin on this slot and odin they PASS but in fact the flash crash.
I change the port and reuse odin and this time it works.
So the only concern is link to the realiability of odin, the fact that it state that the flash was passed and it was not the case.
This tools works well it's only a warning and not at all a critic against it.

This guide is no more. Due to the fact that seedrom193 had a guide made before this but with missing file issue, I did this one
to provide an easy way with more than one option.
seedrom193 fixed his guide now so I deleted this as I promised.
I leave the thread still existing for now. There might be some usefull info for someone to find.
Thank you.

First file still missing, and supersu wont be seen in app-drawer unless you download it from play as well.
Every app who wants su will just hang unless you do that because you cant grant or deny access.
I made total unroot today to figure this out, and that was what I came up with. Everything else failed.
About pictures - You can upload them directly to xda. No need to use another host.

Thanks for the SuperSU file for CWM.
I'm not sure if I did something wrong but when I rebooted the phone in 'download mode' it's stuck, saying "Downloading... Do not turn off target!!". What do I do now? I tried running Odin3 but it just said successful but I'm not sure if anything happened.
Update: I noticed that Odin doesn't recognize my drive so I guess it's just stuck in that 'download mode' and I think I know why. I read that the IMEI needs to be recognized and while this was probably not a smart move I followed this guide to root the phone before I put in my SIM card because I have to break it loose and after that I can't use it in my old phone. Question is, what the hell do I do now? Since it says I can't reboot it and I can't use Odin it's a bit of a dilemma.
Update 2: Nevermind, I had forgotten to update USB drivers and then reboot. Question, is it possible to continue without TriangleAway? They warned about potential bricking the phone and I'm not planning on flashing any ROMs at the moment.

Make sure to go to google playstore and download SuperSU and update it, afterwards just download Triangle Away and use it. I rooted my phone 2 days ago and everything is perfect.

Yes but I don't want the risk of bricking the phone. Assuming I don't get a power outage during activation with TriangleAway there's minimal chance that something gets screwed up?

No, it's not needed then but are you sure? Did you flash firmware or recovery?
On this phone you don't get a triangle on boot, but it's seen only in download mode.

I flashed it with CWM then rooted according to the guide, I don't think I know the difference between firmware or recovery.
Anyway, I haven't booted into download mode again to see as last time I could restart the phone so what do I need to do once I'm there to reboot again to normal mode in case I only want to see if the triangle is there?
My Samsung galaxy is not working, when I turn it on it is just turn on for a while like 5 seconds then turn off again.
I cannot access download mode and recovery because it turns off. How can I solve this.?

it isn't the battery?
Can you furnish further details about from when this happened and any new changes you remember made this happen . this may also been resulted due to battery problem.
BRO TIP : just connect it to charger and turn on and for one last time try with diffrent battery...
i suggest go to

its the best way to do. since you cant go to recovery mode and download mode

If you can reach the AT&T icon, you should be able to flash the stock firmware. Also for the love of all that is good, read carefully before messing with your phone.

Seconded - I would also suggest that once you get this fixed, be extremely careful before modifying anything else on your phone. Read up a bit, perhaps wait until we have an unlocked bootloader near the end of this month, that should give you some time to familiarize yourself with the risks and procedures for flashing roms and recovering from a bad one.

All the more reason to take your time. You said you just got your phone yesterday, if you're at all concerned with the risk of turning your $600 phone into a paperweight, you should study first, ask questions before you try something risky, and only follow a guide once you feel 100% comfortable doing so. It is very possible to brick these phones to the point that they're not easily fixed.

While I probably have more patience than most who have been here, but no one here is going to hold your hand. I've reiterated 2 -3 times now how important it is to read carefully, which obviously you are not doing. I provided you with a complete guide in the link I sent you. So as you can see I finally figured out how to get out of the scary Download Mode screen on my gs4. Well I need some help trying to get my recovery back to normal. I tried to install TWRP with Goomanager and it didn't do it correctly or maybe its just me. So after TWRP downloaded I went to go install it and it put me in DL mode. I panicked and thought I bricked my phone and I did power button+volume down+home button and it restarted and booted up Android. Now when I try and go into recovery it throws me back into Download mode and I have to do that button sequence to get out. Its almost like I deleted my recovery so Idk what to do... :'( if anyone can try and help it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!!!

Hate to say this my Friend as of now you are without a recovery and there's no way to get that since there isn't any Odin for MF3 Only thing i
can tell you is go to Bestbuy they can recover your Rom back to the stock way it was lot's had this happen to them and they got it fix for free in Bestbuy, Cause
since MF3 Bootloader is locked there's no way to get your Recovery back!
The button sequence is not what's rebooting you out of download. Just holding the power for 10-15 secs does that. When the phone is off press and hold VOL+HOME and press and hold POWER till first splash screen. ( mine is the custom screen). Then release POWER only. Holding VOL+HOME till you see the first TWRP logo. You don't have to really hold it that long. Ussually just till the small blue writing in top left corner pops up. Works better for me to hold till the blue TWRP logo. Then release both buttons. Should take 5-8 secs then TWRP options screen will be up. If you are ever in download mode and you are not flashing with Odin or installing or really doing anything besides thinking "damnit I wanted recovery not ODIN". Then hold power till it shuts down and then start recovery boot sequence. Or hell just pull the battery. Want hurt as long as no installing , flashing, or upgrading or nose picking is going on.

SO i was a fooled and i tried to flash my MF3 S4 with TRWP. Make a long story short my phone was soft bricked. I was unable to go into recovery mode, only Odin mode. So after reading a bunch of posts and thinking that my phone was bricked until samsung released official MF3 recovery image , i gave up. My friend at best buy called me and said that they now have "Samsung Experience Centers and they can Flash your phone to factory stock. I called Samsung and verified. i immediately brought the phone over and after explaining that "Kies" Ruined my phone they were able to flash my phone now it is working. I will go into more detail soon. But those who were in my situation, rest assured there is a solution now.

Should I just tell them that I tried to update to mf3 via keys and it failed and I didn't realize until I tried to access recovery mode and it didn't come up only Odin mode? Lol I'm trying to make this sound like its not a ridiculous story.
