Samba file sharing does not read my eternal sd card. Rooted and running kitkat
What is the question?
Does it not read or does it not wrote to external SD. Its implemented by Google now on all devices running KitKat 4.4 where third party apps cannot write to external SD card.

It does not read, I fixed the issue with 3rd party apps not writing to sd caed by editing platform. Xml in permissions. All my apps can read and write to the card. Just samba does not see it
So that leads me to think the app has not been updated to work properly with KitKat.

That makes sense, I tried the samba patch for JB, but that does nothing. Well hopefully we will see an alternative to samba. So far ES file explorer is the best bet

For those having issues with battery drain on oICS due to constantly downloading the OTA go to system/apps and rename downloadprovider.apk to downloadprovider.apk1, this should force close your system updates when you back out of it but leave gapps intact. I also fixed permissions in both download providers prior to this, don't know if that made any difference
DISCLAIMER: This will break all downloads so if you need something from the market or elsewhere you must take the 1 off
My time in media has been unchanged since I renamed

place the zip on your external sd card flash the recovery with odin then boot into cwm and flash the root zip, recovery looks funky with double images but it does work. btw credit goes to xoom and nycbjr this is their root for the tab2,7

Works for me, thanks
Can you give some other info on your installation, any side affects after install. Anything not working. Any app conflicts. Any tips would be helpful.
How about some screen shots.

Simple Question:
Which ROM offers the possibility to install apps complete on the Micro SD Card instead of the internal drive?
And is it possible with this AICP 12.1?
thx, dj
Hm, maybe you can have a look into the Link2SD app. You can find it in the playstore.
But I do not believe that a ROM offers that for all, also sys apps. Because it is quite dangerous if there is no sd card anymore.

Then your device is not allowing you to move apps in your external storage, that happens with lots devices, that they are unable to move their apps, that's the reason people should use at least 64GB internal storage device, with 32 GB internal storage its not enough for apps

Go on developer options and scroll to the bottom until you see "force allow apps on external"
That should fix it

Revert changes on that app
And do it again
When it's done you can't see sd card and it's just internal storage
This app really doesn't work most of the time
