oICS battery drain fix - Nexus S General

For those having issues with battery drain on oICS due to constantly downloading the OTA go to system/apps and rename downloadprovider.apk to downloadprovider.apk1, this should force close your system updates when you back out of it but leave gapps intact. I also fixed permissions in both download providers prior to this, don't know if that made any difference
DISCLAIMER: This will break all downloads so if you need something from the market or elsewhere you must take the 1 off
My time in media has been unchanged since I renamed

To rule out a glitch in the theme, change themes and see if it's still there.
Sent using witchcraft via XDA Developers Premium App.
It was there when I was using kalaga's theme on leeroids froyo rom, it's not a glitch, and if you pull down the notification area it shows the battery use and you can click it and open the app...
If it's not a theme thing then is it an App or add-on you have downloaded / installed?
Is it part of the Froyo ROM (I tried LeDroids GB ROM and it had no such icon)?

It uses 39 percent of my battery and I never opened the program since I bought the phone. What can I do about it?

Or just use Delta Backup or one of the many software titles available to freeze applications.

I'm getting the same error . I'm running the latest Ligux ROM.
I have the same error and i have fixed it.
1. Make sure your phone is rooted.
2. You have to use System App Remove to uninstall your current version of google search, then go to market redownload and install it as usual.
Ok voila.

Google Edition Rom is Patched already for security risk

The security risk that was reported to affect 99% of devices has already been patched in the Google Edition Rom.
The company that found the exploit posted an app to scan for the exploit. When I ran it on my One running the stock google edition rom it showed as patched

Apparently ARHD is as well... So I would go to say that HTC One 4.2.2 is patched already.

Yeah I know...
I think its a scare tactic. Read the article on AC.. its pretty iffy to see TiBu, root explorer and Faux Clock and other apps on the screenshot... considering I have all installed and it didn't show on mine lol

[How to] Remove Navigation Bar on 4.4

Thanks to bluecarbon for pointing this out. If you want to remove your navigation bar and use some type of pie controls (I'm using LMT) it can be done with a simple build.prop edit. Make sure you have a backup in case you make an error editing the file and be sure your pie app is up and running before you reboot.
Just go into system and add the following line to the build.prop file at the bottom, save and reboot (you may need to reboot more than once):
qemu.hw.mainkeys=1
