Can't flash Cwm or TWRP - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, I've looked around for a solution to this with no joy. I managed to root my note 3 with no problem with cf autoroot only to find that I still had a stock recovery.
I tried other methods also and I just cannot get a custom recovery to flash on my device.
When I try to flash a cwm via Odin it leaves me in a bootloop.
Any ideas?
Its the SM-N9005 Model
Thanks

are you flashing the correct recovery version for your OS version? 4.3 recovery wont work on 4.4.2 and 4.4.2 recovery wont work on 4.3

Tried CWM or TWRP?

Yes i did state that
Sent from my Moto G using xda app-developers app

You mentioned cwm but not twrp ( unless I missed it ). I linked cwm just to make sure you used the one proven to work with 4.4.2 as you didn't mention exactly which one you used and I believe there are other cwm variants ( phil's touch, original cwm ). If my attempt to help isn't appreciated, a simple yes or no would suffice. I know how to read.

just flash the rooted version in dev.
How am I supposed to flash a zip when I have no custom recovery?...motochopper says failure all the time tried it twice.. is the mdn method for sprint s4? It says gt-19505
Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk 2
You don't have to be rooted to install a recovery. Just use Odin to install a recovery, then use that to flash the zip.

Update guessing is the ota? You can use flashify app from play store to flash either TWRP recovery 2.6.3.2 that is a IMG. Or 2.6.3.3. That's a zip file .....
Okay will try

I just read in another thread that custom recoveries cannot yet be flashed on the latest OTA. You have to revert back in order to have a custom recovery. According to this thread.

If you DONT have the ota and update with a custom recovery it will bootloop, need stock recovery but if you have the ota flashing a custom recovery is fine...could always see if theirs a stock ROM with ota included too

Just flashed recovery img with flashify again. It says complete and gives option to flash more stuff or reboot. I choose reboot and it powers off. So I tried power button and vol down and that way also just powers off...

CWM Samsung Galaxy S4 4.3 install.

Hey Guys,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 International (I9505) and I rooted it properly with Odin.
But now I want to flash CWM for my S4 but all the tutorials on Youtube are running 4.2.2 Android but, I'm running 4.3
Can I still flash CWM or does it matter what version I'm running?
Greetings, Hammief

Personally , ived been using Philz recovery since i had my s2/s3 and the benefits for this recovery would be exFAT and its features ,and exFat can handle larger files than Fat32 since it can only handle with files up to 4gb? but i might be wrong , so please feel free to use another recovery you want

if you are on the 10o software version on an ATT phone ten yes I would recommend flashing back wit the flash tool if you want to be able to flash roms. There are a lot of people that had the 0o software and had issues flashing different roms

[Q] seandriod enforcing

hello..
i got note 3 sm n9005 (uk model),i tried to root my phone odin says pass, but it wont go to recovery mode it restarts and stuck on screen saying recovery is not seandroid enforcing" in red and another in yellow saying" set warranty bit.it wont let me root my phone,,,pls help me with this
thanks
That means you have succesfully put a custom recovery on your phone via odin. Stock wont show anything, but anything other than stock, that will show. I can only assume your on JB(4.3) still and have flashed a recovery for KK(4.4)
Im from the uk too, using chenglus 11/21 recovery on my jb rom.
Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
Make sure you are using the right cf auto root file. One is for 4.4 and the other is for 4.3.
edit: didn't read it completely, what did you use to root your phone?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900W8 using xda app-developers app
I've never used cf auto root. To root my first rom ( stock rom) i just flashed a custom recovery, and then flashed a superuser zip inside cwm

Did that worked? As far as I know to flash a custom recovery you have to be rooted first.

Yes works fine. Have done it a few times on the n9005, and many times on other devices. You don't even need a rom to flash a custom recovery, or stock recovery for that matter.
