Why does my proximity sensor stay on when the screen is off (not in a call) - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So playing around with some night vision goggles I discovered the proximity sensor turns on when the screen turns off. I tried a phone call and discovered the flash pattern was the same. I played around with the settings but could find nothing that could explain this (on my s4 quick glance the culprit). Does anyone know why this is happening?

Possibly related to the feature where our will answer a call if you place the phone to your face

Wouldn't it start looking for your face only when a call is coming through?

The sensor stays on to prevent knock-on from working in your pocket. If it detects that the phone is in an enclosed space, it will not knock-on.

Red led on Atrix in portrait position (At&t .92 fw)

Hi, i just notice if i hold the phone vertically, in portrait view, a red almost noticeable led lights on, next to the geeen notification led. No blinking, just stays on.
Is it normal? My phone is stock, with the last Gingerbread update. However if i flip it horizontally (landscape mode) the red light turns off.
Thanks in advance.

Proximity sendor

when i am on the phone and.i want to end the call, my screen is off. I have to push on the home button, to switch the screen on. I tested the proximity sensor (*#0*#), but that is ok. I have the feeling that i only have this problem in the evening.
I run on 2.3.5 ki8.
Anybody any thougts what this could be?

do you mean when you ask "s-voice" the answer is not spoken?
try to hit the little face next to the mic, this will activate voice prompt.

Different issue but sort of related, for me the alarm snooze doesn't work. I tell it "snooze" but it keeps going. Maybe it knows I'm still half asleep

Why yes I do....seeing how I was just clearing up what was being discussed as people were confused and how I don't actually use s-voice I figured why turn on the option just for a screen shot.

I got it working with a factory reset. Now the phone is running hot during setup. Look like I will be hitting the Verizon store tomorrow.

[Q] Notification led behind?

Hi
I have a LG g2 d802. I wonder if it have led on the power button behind?
The one in front lights up..

Yes it has. It is particularly visible when you turn on the phone using knock on. I haven't found a way to manage it though. Lightflow can't control it.
