Hi, i just notice if i hold the phone vertically, in portrait view, a red almost noticeable led lights on, next to the geeen notification led. No blinking, just stays on.
Is it normal? My phone is stock, with the last Gingerbread update. However if i flip it horizontally (landscape mode) the red light turns off.
Thanks in advance.

That led is an indicator for front facing camera use and in call use

It activates when making calls right?
Its the proximity sensor I think.

Whenever I'm using the camcorder app with the flash on or droid light for an extended time, one of the leds starts blinking and it goes off.
Anyone have this issue?

Is this a possibility? They drive me nuts at night because they are constantly on.... a way to adjust their time out time would be incredible. Sadly, I don't think suck a thing exists.

Well, stop me if I'm wrong, but doesn't "LEDs Hack" do this? It's a free app on the market. I don't know as I haven't needed to try with this.
If you're on CM, you can adjust their brightness level based on ambient light under back light settings (separate from keyboard light and screen)

Does that work if you're unrooted?
Hey guys I recently bought the Lux Auto Brightness app which dims your display according to your environment. I would like to dim my hardware keys because when I'm in a pitch black room the keys are still bright......Any ideas would be awesome. Thanks

Up to my knowledge you can only shorten the duration of the back lit keys or turn them off completely. Settings>Display>Touch key light duration. I have my keys to not lit up at all and i like it.
i dont see that option in display

Hi

Yes it has. It is particularly visible when you turn on the phone using knock on. I haven't found a way to manage it though. Lightflow can't control it.

No it only lights up upon waking the device, when you recieve a phone call and if you have set an alarm
So playing around with some night vision goggles I discovered the proximity sensor turns on when the screen turns off. I tried a phone call and discovered the flash pattern was the same. I played around with the settings but could find nothing that could explain this (on my s4 quick glance the culprit). Does anyone know why this is happening?

Possibly related to the feature where our will answer a call if you place the phone to your face

Wouldn't it start looking for your face only when a call is coming through?

The sensor stays on to prevent knock-on from working in your pocket. If it detects that the phone is in an enclosed space, it will not knock-on.
