Did you try using freegee? I couldn't get custom recovery to install this last time through adb push method but freegee worked. It's free in the play store. I also have the D800

Thanks I'll try it now.

Hello,
When I tried flashing the 2.6.3.3 att zip version through flashify and rebooted into recovery , an Android was on its back with red triangle with a "!" was showing, so I installed the 2.6.3.2 version thought adb with the instructions in this page:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2449670
so do I install the new 2.6.3.3 version through the TWRP recovery or through flashify ?

Thanks, I was used to using Goomanager since I had the Galaxy S3 ;D
I have the Tmobile LG G2 (D801)
-Software D890110G
-Build JDQ39B
-Rooted using ioroot method
I cannot install either TWRP or CWM Recovery.
No matter what method I use to install a recovery (a zipped recovery) or using adb fastboot, I always end up on a black screen with
[720] Fastboot mode started
[770] udc_start()
I need the latest CWM or TWRP so I can flash 4.4 Roms. I feel like there is no definite guide on how to install the recovery or it seems like a recovery for D801 does not exist.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank You.
-Esteef
There is a guide and a YouTube video walking you through installing twrp through adb. I used it Saturday, works. But I'm thinking I need cwm to install cm11 twrp fails every time.

I just I stalled twrp on my phone today, so here's how I did it. Download recovery from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2469995 , save it on phone SD, dcim folder. Now download flashify from play store. Go to app and choose recovery image, look for the one downloaded earlier. That will flash the recovery and boot after.

Just Tried your method I still get the black screen with the Text on the top left corner.
I'm starting to believe I cannot change recoveries on my phone.
Also, using your method, It only installs 2.6.3.2 , I need 2.6.3.4 or latest CWM cause I want 4.4 based roms. 2.6.3.2 always give me an error when installing 4.4 roms

I am having the same problem can someone help.
I have just recently rooted my Verizon LG G2 and I downloaded Rom Manager to install clockwork mod recovery. It says the latest version has been install on my phone 6.0.4.4 but anytime I try to boot into recovery I get what looks like a error. There is a green android laying on his back with a door opening on stomach with a red triangle coming out. Can someone help me get recovery properly installed..
Do not use rom manager. It does not work. Use flashify or freegee

OK so this is whats going on
I have tried several way to push or downlode recovery twrp and cwm on my lg g2 it is fully rooted i check it through the app it says it has full root priviliges.
Everytime i run the recovery it take me to a black screen with a green android lying with its belly open.
I have tired installing recovery through adb but i either end up getting a loki file wont go through or it wont load or the it says it cant open the twrp image. I have followed step by step instruction through youtube. I dont know whats going on.
Please help ...and let me know if you need any further details.

You could always use flashify. Use it to download the TWRP .zip. Extract the .img file into the phone, then use flashify to flash that .img file you extracted. Reboot into recovery to see if it stuck.

Hey,
I went back from CM11 on my 802 to an old backup of stock rom, still had TWRP v.2.6.3.2.
The phone downloaded the OTA update automatically and when I rebooted it just got stuck in TWRP recovery. I tried the "go back to stock" but I get "the phone is not connected" at the LG mobile support tool. Don't know what to do now, tried flashing other backups etc. Can I somehow flash a new recovery in TWRP?

Yeah I can't find it in adb devices. I can see it in device manager under USB-devices but it has a triangle. Can it be a problem with the drivers?
You can also try the terminal on twrp

I had tried that fix and it never worked for me i'd reccomend flashing a zv8 modem thats what fixed me
edit but you should probably only do this if that other fix didn't work for you
