Okay so today I ran into a problem trying to flash 3.99 rc2 paranoid android via clockworkmod I didn't see that flashing it using cwm would cause baseband issues and now I have to flash the 4.3 radio but apperantly I need twrp for that so since I do not have a computer and goomanager won't download the latest twrp I was wondering if I can just download the latest version of twrp and flash it using clockwork mod? I know it sounds weird haha flashing a recovery via a recovery but anyways a quick reply would be thankfull

i never use a pc for android, use recovery tools from the market and choose twrp, download and it will reboot to flash, thats it. very convenient
Use this app and choose your recovery tool that you want.
Recovery Tools. look for it in the market.
I'm using this tool and it's great.
Hey thanks guys that really helped! did and now have twrp although it didn't download the latest one it downloaded 2.6.3.0 but still works!

Its not weird man its a zip file you should download and flash it like you would flash anything else. Simple no need to over think it man just go to TWRP thread and download the zip file of the latest which is 2.6.3.3 I believe. Also the thread name has a paperclip at the end of it so click on it and you will see all attached files within the thread. There you will see all of the TWRP zips... Download latest one and thats it..
Also are you sure you had the latest CWm since I find it hard to believe there is a version that wont work

Yes I'm %100 positive I had latest and the only version of cwm that would not cause issues was the version right before the 6.0.4.3 which I believe is the number if I remember correctly but all is good now I used that app I was recommended and flashed twrp using that and flashed the radio and am now on beanstalk with no problems but I will flash the latest version of twrp now that I know I can haha thanks for the info on that

Hi guys.
I want to update my recovery and currently have the CWM Touch recovery installed. I wanted to flash the Official TWRP recovery and was wondering if I have to revert back to the stock recovery and then install TWRP or do I just download goomanager on my phone and install TWRP from there ON TOP of the CWM I have?
Thanks
Yeah do the goomanger thing

I have the Tmobile LG G2 (D801)
-Software D890110G
-Build JDQ39B
-Rooted using ioroot method
I cannot install either TWRP or CWM Recovery.
No matter what method I use to install a recovery (a zipped recovery) or using adb fastboot, I always end up on a black screen with
[720] Fastboot mode started
[770] udc_start()
I need the latest CWM or TWRP so I can flash 4.4 Roms. I feel like there is no definite guide on how to install the recovery or it seems like a recovery for D801 does not exist.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank You.

There is a guide and a YouTube video walking you through installing twrp through adb. I used it Saturday, works. But I'm thinking I need cwm to install cm11 twrp fails every time.

I just I stalled twrp on my phone today, so here's how I did it. Download recovery from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2469995 , save it on phone SD, dcim folder. Now download flashify from play store. Go to app and choose recovery image, look for the one downloaded earlier. That will flash the recovery and boot after.

Just Tried your method I still get the black screen with the Text on the top left corner.
I'm starting to believe I cannot change recoveries on my phone.
Also, using your method, It only installs 2.6.3.2 , I need 2.6.3.4 or latest CWM cause I want 4.4 based roms. 2.6.3.2 always give me an error when installing 4.4 roms

I am having the same problem can someone help.
I have just recently rooted my Verizon LG G2 and I downloaded Rom Manager to install clockwork mod recovery. It says the latest version has been install on my phone 6.0.4.4 but anytime I try to boot into recovery I get what looks like a error. There is a green android laying on his back with a door opening on stomach with a red triangle coming out. Can someone help me get recovery properly installed..
Do not use rom manager. It does not work. Use flashify or freegee

Did you try using freegee? I couldn't get custom recovery to install this last time through adb push method but freegee worked. It's free in the play store. I also have the D800
