I looked in all the settings and cannot get the phone to vibrate. I even tried diagnostic mode (*#7353#) and tested vibration.
Does this mean a busted vibration motor?

have you got power save on
No. I think it should vibrate in diagnostic mode no matter what.

Every time I turn off my device and turn it back on, if it was on ring mode before it toggles to vibrate mode, and if it was on vibrate mode it toggles to ring mode.
I've done several soft resets, looked at ring settings and changing them... but nothing that I've done has worked. I've searched this and other forums but I haven't found a way to fix this problem so far. I would really appreciate the help if anyone has any clues.
Thank you.
I figured out what was happening. It turns out my communications manager button was jammed and that was what was causing the problem. Fortunately I was able to fix it with a small screwdriver.
Hi,
As anyone figured out how to disable the haptic/vibration feedback? I've gone to settings>sound>unchecked vibrate on touch but it doesn't seem to have worked. I also noticed that when I turned the volume all the down using either the volume rocker or the touch screen control, the vibrate icon appeared in the top right hand corner.
I received my N10 yesterday and think it's a great device despite some teething issues (which I hope an update in the near future will sort out!), but I want to figure out if the issue above is hardware related, in which case I'll ask for a replacement.

Did you try a reboot after changing the setting?
Also, when you turn the volume all the way down, it automatically turns on vibrate for notification. That's what that icon means.

I've rebooted after changing the setting but it still hasn't turned off. As for the automatic vibrate, I thought I could turn off the vibration even though if I turned the volume all the way down, kinda like selecting the silent option on your phone and turning vibrate off.
i can get sound on the phone dial pad but dont see option to enable vibration which i used to have on HTC and liked it. Is it possible to enable? or vibration pads dont extend beyond bottom of the phone where soft keys are?
anyone?

Go to dialer, menu, settings, ringtone and keypad, if you have power save on there will be no feedback
power save is always enabled but haptic feedback is unticked
went to ringtones and keypad tones, vibration set to basic call and keypad tones an enabled
still no vibration on the dial pad, everywhere else it works

The vibration is so slight you might not feel it, sounds silly but press the dialer and put the phone to your ear see if you can here it vibrating

you are right, i increased haptic to maximum now (it was only one level down before) i can feel it much better now.
Maybe its just me but it feels that the soft button keys on bottom get even stronger feedback, perhaps its the way they are positioned.
Great my S8 hepatic feedback is not working . I double check they are all on in settings no home button feedback nor keyboard or ringing option... Return or is it software that reset will fix.. Reset is a pain as I set up phone already..

The whole phone it was the vibration motors.. They swapped it out all is good now well thus far..
I had the same issue. No vibration at all. I put the phone in safe mode by powering down the phone then restarting. Once "Samsung" appears hold down the volume down button until the phone has finished booting. It should then say safe mode at the bottom left corner. I tested the heptic feedback and incoming call vibration while in safe mode and the vibration worked. I then restarted the phone again to take it out of safe mode and vibration has been working since.
Hi. Experiencing same here. Tried safe mode already. Still not working.
I was playing around with my wife's G6 tonight and I noticed every time I made a touch or anything in the phone there was no haptic vibrate going on. But before her phone always had a very nice haptic feedback on it.
I checked all settings like sound had vibrate to tap on I went to other settings with haptic feedback and they looked to all be checked and enabled.
So why isn't her phone vibrating ?
No one has an idea what's up ?
I went through all Settings options, turned off and back on Vibrate to tap. Still doesn't work.

It could be that the vibration motor is dead or damaged...

Haptic actuators don't use motors.
Make sure your battery saving is turn off, turning on battery saving will disable haptic feedback.
