Every time I turn off my device and turn it back on, if it was on ring mode before it toggles to vibrate mode, and if it was on vibrate mode it toggles to ring mode.
I've done several soft resets, looked at ring settings and changing them... but nothing that I've done has worked. I've searched this and other forums but I haven't found a way to fix this problem so far. I would really appreciate the help if anyone has any clues.
Thank you.
I figured out what was happening. It turns out my communications manager button was jammed and that was what was causing the problem. Fortunately I was able to fix it with a small screwdriver.

Has anybody had this issue before?
I have an 8525 and all of a sudden it won't vibrate anymore. It was vibrating yesterday, this morning...nothing.
I have tried switching to a ringer and switching back, holding the side button to switch between vibrate and ring, and nothing. No matter what I do, it will not vibrate. When I put it in vibrate mode I just get silence when a phone call comes in.
Anyone have any thoughts?
Thanks

There are at least two threads on this. (code for saying try the google search sticky post ). I assume you have not changed any settings since yesterday? If not look at this thread. You might try phoning yourself with vibrate on and tapping/bumping the base end of the phone while it's ringing. If it starts vibrating then the contacts are loose on the motor - and even if it doesn't they may be loose:

If you need to post again or just to say if you have any success, use the thread above.

I do not know how it happened, but the speakerphone notification in the title bar has turned on permanently, and while I am on a call, the menu item reads (Turn Speakerphone Off). However, when I select that, it does not toggle to On. Not only that, but the speaker phone is not on! So the phone thinks it is on and will not let me turn the indicators off, however, I can not actually turn it on. I tried a hard reset, but the setting must be stored somewhere because when I restore my backup, the problem comes back. Any clues? Does anyone know where the speakerphone info is stored in the registry? Thanks.
Found it! HKLM/System/State/Hardware/Speaker It was set to 1. I changed it to 0 and now everything works.
THANK YOU!!
Thanks man! Your post just saved me from hard resetting my trion and all the hassle involved with it!
Hey guys,
long time reader but first time poster...I did a search and couldn't really find a solution for my problem. Whenever I put my phone on vibration and change it back to normal my system/ring volume only goes up to 13%. I would than manually change it to 100% but whenever I receive calls, messages, notifications, etc on my phone the system/ringer volume seems to be "stuck" at 13% because it's very low (even tho it says 100% in Sound & Display). My only solution so far is to soft reset my phone and that usually fixes the problem but it gets annoying having to do this every time I change between vibrate to normal profiles. I've tried turning on/off the Single volume option but it didn't work either. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
yes I have the same problem and its getting on my nerves it just randomly started too
No one could post the solution for this problem.........
Its really annoying to soft reset the phone only to get the ringer volume up.
I have bought the new Samsung galaxy s2 as I've just upgraded from my htc hd2!
I love the phone and features but I cant not turn the function off where it speaks to me who's phoning! Its so unprofessional when I'm at work and my phones on a quiet ring and everyone in the office hears who's calling me. Especially as some of my mates have the wildest nick names!
I thought it was something to do with driving mode but it still seems to do it on some contacts and not others.
Any help would be appreciated
Turn off driving mode.
I have turned off driving mode... it still does it on certain contacts
its really annoying!
Have you got some accessibility function turned on?
No nothing is turned on it
Ok, just for fun double press the home buttom and then press cancel at the voice command prompt. On the screen that follows with the large icons look and see if there is a green line under the car. If there is one tap the icon to turn off driving mode and this will fix your problem.
I really appreciate your help but I 100% guarantee it is turned off. I've check all them settings. grrrr!!!!
It's only driving mode that turns on the option to read out notifications so somehow it's turned on.
Hi,
As anyone figured out how to disable the haptic/vibration feedback? I've gone to settings>sound>unchecked vibrate on touch but it doesn't seem to have worked. I also noticed that when I turned the volume all the down using either the volume rocker or the touch screen control, the vibrate icon appeared in the top right hand corner.
I received my N10 yesterday and think it's a great device despite some teething issues (which I hope an update in the near future will sort out!), but I want to figure out if the issue above is hardware related, in which case I'll ask for a replacement.

Did you try a reboot after changing the setting?
Also, when you turn the volume all the way down, it automatically turns on vibrate for notification. That's what that icon means.

I've rebooted after changing the setting but it still hasn't turned off. As for the automatic vibrate, I thought I could turn off the vibration even though if I turned the volume all the way down, kinda like selecting the silent option on your phone and turning vibrate off.
