LCD screen is glued to front glass/digitizer. Its possible to change only digitizer, but don't think you will do that at home ... Easiest way for you - change all LCD-digitizer assembly ...
For education purposes you can have a look here : Digitizer replacement

This is my first post here and though i read similar posts on this subject i would
like to read your opinions on this one.
I accidentally dropped some water on my touch hd and my display got damaged. The phone worked fine and so did the digitizer but the problem was that the backlight of the display was dead.At some point the backlight turned on but when i tried to input the unlock code it turned off right away (did this several times).I knew that i should replace the lcd (and the digitizer just in case).
I bought the lcd and the digitizer seperately and i managed to assemble the phone back using the service manual.Since then when i turn the phone on I hear the starting sound,i get the vibration then after a while the screen with no backlight again displays the "tap here to configure your phone" screen (after the hard reset),when i tap i get no response.
I checked the connections many times and i also used a second digitizer with no success.
Is there a possibility flashing a new ROM will solve the problem?
If so is there a way of flashing a ROM when the phone's screen is not usable?
Waiting for your precious opinions/suggestions/knowledge
Thanks in advance.
Hello,
Flashing the ROM won't solve an obviously hardware problem.
If you changed the LCD and still have no backlight, then either you bought a defective screen, or the problem is elsewhere, maybe on the main electronic board... Which would be bad news.
BTW, I wanted to change the digitizer in the apst years, but its not provided with the glue, so I had to buy a whole assembled screen + digitizer.
How did you manage to glue the digitizer on the screen ?
I aligned the screen with the digitizer and then i used small pieces of a special thin and trasparent tape to hold it in place. The tape holds the screen tight and it is barely visible, it also has the advantage that you can seperate the lcd and digitizer anytime you want with ease (though you have to be very delicate when applying it to get a good result)
I asked for a replacement of the defective lcd and i hope i will get a new one.
Hey there!
I have problem with my old N7 :<
After replacing LCD screen with digitizer (previous was cracked) touch does't work.
I try to move the tape from digitizer but no effect.
I have additional digitizer and second nexus 7, but i don't know that if i only connect the digitizer it will work, or i need to do something eles.
Hey guys,
my nephew broke his nexus 7 screen, the touchscreen was not working but the display does.
So i grab a new screen digitizer from there:
http://www.amazon.fr/Display-tactil...kmr0&keywords=nexus+7+2012+screen+replacement
Well, i replaced the screen successfully.
I know the nexus 7 boots because i hear sound of new mail, and when i touch the place where navbar is I do hear sound, but the screen is black Oo.
I checked all the ribbon 3times and they look good, any idea what can cause that? maybe the ldc flex ribbon is broken?
Thanks for your help
I have the same problem, only I obtained an LCD + Digitizer assembly. Did you eventually find a solution?
Thanks,

Hi everyone,
Yesterday I checked that gorilla glass 3 is a big ****. Now I have my op2 working but with some scratches in the external screen. Touch is OK and the LCD is also OK, but I want to change it because I suppose that with a little pressure over the screen it will broke definitely. I'm looking for a digitizer replacement but I only find people changing both: LCD + Digitizer.
I've found that http://vifocal.com/lcd-digitizer-display-touch-screen-assembly-replacement-for-oneplus-2-two-smartphone.html and it is ridiculously cheap for a LCD + digitizer, so I want to be sure that for the op2 the way to change that part is completely changing the lcd and the external screen. It's that true?
Thanks.
Yes the easiest and best way fix screen issues is to change the entire combo. However if you search you will also find only front glass replacements without the LCD for a much cheaper price($3-4).....
parts4repair.com/front-glass-for-oneplus-two
....but again that requires professional tools for replacement and you need to play with loca glue while reinstalling and the process is relatively difficult and not everyone can do that.
Hey guys,
broke my Nexus 4 screen a few years ago - now I wanted to replace it just so I have a backup phone.
I removed the glass with some tools, and while doing so another layer at the bottom of the screen came off. (exactly the part that was broken and didnt respond to touches)
It now shows solid white color when the phone is turned on, and I cant find any info wether this layer
is supposed to come off while changing digitizer and glass or not.
Have I borked this completely? Would like to know before I waste money on the Digitizer + Glass instead of just getting a new front frame.
Edit: Okay found out that this is the polarizer which is pretty cheap on the internet.
