I tried restoring my ROOTed phone back to factory settings but I am getting the error message "Unfortunately, settings has stopped working" after factory reset. I believe this may be due to the fact that I deleted certain bloatware. How can I resolve this issue? I've tried using Lockifyed's solution but it does not detect my device, not sure if my USB debugging was on prior. Please help!
What firmware are you on? I would Odin that firmware.

I had to re install the stock rom via Odin. It seems when I deleted the bloatware, I must of initially deleted something that was essential to the start up for settings.

had everything to do with it..dont care if he just got it or not he was in a setup wizard boot loop like many people found them selfs in after rooting and removing something they shouldnt of only fix for that is to use kies like in that thread or get the stock image and odin it like the op did to fix it
Op. Did u try to root?
Someone probably rooted and messed it up...since 8t still got to the set up screen and appears to work he probably figures hed sell it to some sucker. Unfortunately this op probably bought it...amd there really wasnt much of a way for him to know it was messed with since setup still popped up
Just my theory...always make sure a device works when buying used...go through the setup, test all the main features. ..spend a good 10 minutes atleast with the phone before you actually give the guy money...and if your buying online like on ebay...good luck

Hi can somebody help me with this error?
Twice, while trying to open up the camera, I came across the error "Cannot connect to camera".
I had to restart both the times.
Anyone else faced this?
Software issue or hardware, any idea?
Are you stock?
If rooted, clear cache and dalvik.

Ironically I had this problem on stock and it fixed itself when I switched to a new rom.
I have a SPH-L720T
A few months ago I rooted using CF-Auto-Root and everything was working fine. I made no other changes.
Last night I tried to update the phone using Kies so I could start using the WIFI calling. It seemed to update fine and started up but the WIFI was off. Now it cannot be turned on. Slide the switch to ON and it immediately switches back to OFF. I eventually did a factory reset on the phone but that did not resolve the problem. But it did start showing a message when I try to turn on WIFI that security software has disallowed the action. I went into SuperSU and it asked to turn of Knox. I did that. Now the message doesn't come up any more but WIFI still can't be turned on.
Can anyone offer any advice on what I should do next?

Odin the latest tar file (locate it yourself and if you don't know how to use Odin there are plenty of threads and posts on how to). And perform another factory reset.

Agree with this one. Odin to NC6. If you really wanted, ODIN back to NAF, see if Wifi works, then ODIN to NC6, and if wifi still works, re-root with CFAutoRoot
Thanks for the replies. Downloading NC6. Fingers crossed.
That did the trick without the need for another factory reset. Again I appreciate the help. Thank you.

I suggest you put "solved" in the title of the thread so when someone in the future runs into the same problem they know where to find the answer.

Hi. Giving my old Razr M to my son and we were were told by our carrier we could reset the phone to the factory settings by doing a factory reboot. When we did that there was a problem that occurred when the phone started again and after "optimizing apps" it popped a message saying "Unfortunately, setup has stopped." Every once and a while it pops another message "Unfortunately, NFL mobile has stopped." When I click "OK" it just keeps giving the same message over and over. I have tried a powered off factory data reset and that was unsuccessful as well. the device was fine before this process and now I'm told it is defective, out of warranty and therefore toast. Is there anything anyone can recommend that I haven't tried??? Thanks!

Was device rooted?
In settings>about phone
What system version?

Razr M
No, not rooted. It is an unmodified Razr M XT907. It was running the latest Android OS available to that phone so I guess Jelly Bean. Now I can't get it to turn on to where I can go in and look at the settings at all...

You wiped data in android recovery?
If so may need to reflash firmware with RSD Lite.

I am unsure how to do what you describe. Sorry to be such a noob. I will research the process but any help on how that is done is appreciated.

I'll check it out. Thanks!
On latest ASF3 software (SM-G975F) for a week or so, all of a sudden I'm getting the "Google keeps Stopping" pop up and none of my google apps will open.
I tried all the clear cache, disabling, and uninstalling recent updates. Nothing works.
Any help appreciated!
