Hello guys,
I just got a brand new Advent Vega Tegra Note 7 and noticed that there's obviously no vibrating notification possible? Can anyone confirm this or is it a defect? This page says, it has notification: www.cellphones.ca/tablets/advent-vega-tegra-note-7/specs/
Please give me some hints. Thanks!
I'm pretty sure tablets don't have a vibrator motor in then for notifications, only sound.
I wouldn't generalize this statement, because for example the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 LTE has a vibration function.
Do you own a Tegra Note?
Yes i do, there isn't a vibration motor in it I can guarantee you that. And I don't know much about the Galaxy Note other than its high price-point lol.
Haha, you're right, it is pretty expensive That's why I got myself a Tegra and have to pass on vibration

1- Chainfire3D make the games work perfectly
2- Yes , owners confirmed it
3- Yes samsung confirmed it , but did not tell us when
4- don't know about it , mine did not arrive yet.
5- No Led notification
Just adding my two cents - for Led notifications can use an app called NoLED
I'm curious as to how the scaling for the different apps is

Note Chainfire is only required for 'tegra optimized/required' games.
You can use it to tweak other games if they are acting odd (like dungeon defenders).
Also samsung hasn't officially confirmed ice cream sandwich. They said Q2 next year then retracted it. (probably to not take away from nexus prime sales)

Sound is plenty loud enough for me
No indicator but the app "Noled" is available in the Android market and is a good substitute imho
Hey guys now that we have seen the Galaxy S3 I dont know whether its a good trade off to sacrifice the Galaxy Note with 5.3" Screen for a S3 with only a 4.8" Screen + new features & accessories. I really really like both I just wish the Galaxy Note had all the features the S3 has. Do you guys think Samsung will Give the Note some features of the S3 or is it just better to get the S3 altogether for its pure awesomeness and screw the 5.3" screen?
Thanks for the Help!

I doubt Samsung will port features to the existing Note, but you can expect them in Note 2 at least, which won't be for a while though.
I Love My Note but also buy a Galaxy S III
Yeah sounds about right... oh and thanks for the link, helped me a little..
I'd go with the Galaxy S3.
The new Exynos seems so promising.
If the 3mm stylus works and is available before the sgs4 hits the shelves I definitely trade in the note for the sgs3 . I saw in the system dump that it contains the SMemo app, so if I can really write with the 3mm pen, the Sgs3 would be the best for me size wise (don't care about the new gimmicks though, although the inductive charger is nice, really nice)
Just got my note a week ago and rooted it but I will definitely get the S3 for sure, awesome hardware!

I am a happy note owner, I love the damn thing....When I first got the Note I also has a Galaxy s2, I decided then that definately I wanted the Note the most and sold the S2.
But what really..really tempts me to switch to S3 is the potentially superior audio, from the excellent built in dac and the superior loudspeaker and call quality.
The blutooth that should allow quality wireless headphones to be taken advantage of also!
It's the sound that makes me want it...the whole audio experience.
For now I have pre ordered the s3 while clinging on to my note.
When it comes I will try the s3 for a few days and see if I miss the Note too much or not.
So the answer to Note v S3 is indeed a tough one, and I cant quite answer it yet.
Gnote didnt u get bored of it? I had one kept it for two months then sold it. Yeah it is cool to have spen but just at the beginning + its processor is old

As my real life compare side by side:
Adv of Note over S3:
- Bigger screen: Depent on your screen size need. If you spend much time on your phone ( read, watch, see ... not call ) and you need to protect your eyes, Note better.
- S Pen: there are something fun with it. Next time Samsung will release premium package design for G Note. If you always note something quickly, draw without paper + pen, Note is important for you.
Adv of S3 over Note:
- Size: fit to your hand. I feel very nice when hand on S3. Your finger almost cover screen. S3 also feel much thinner G Note.
- Screen: less oversaturate, warmer color tone.
- Power: much better than G Note. Almost no lag, very smooth. You will do multi tasking easily. I wish S3 has 1.5GB.
- Camera: better camera, esp on speed, contrast of pics, low light. Pics quality = a bit better.
- Battery: S3 better
- Temperature: S3 is cooler
- Smart: I feel S2, G Nexus and ( almost ) G Note are the same but with S3, I feel it smart with many new smart features. I think S3 = very good step forward about intergrated softwares.
I'm using Note now. I will sell my Note, buy S3 and come back with Note on the Note 2 base on Quadcore A9 or Dual Core A15 + powerfull Mali T604 ( 4 times faster ).
Hello i was wonderig if i should jump in and get the note 3 which would be my first note device or wait for the S5. As of now i have a S4, and well spec wise the note 3 and S4 is pretty close. Input would be great thanks in advanced.

I said the same thing when the s4 came out and just decided to wait for the Note 3.
I had the Note 2 and the s4 was just too small for my liking. Cant go back to "small" screens.
s5 will more than likely have more/better features than Note 3 (no s-pen or those features though) but if you're going to wait for the s5, why note wait a couple months and get the Note 4?
Its all down to preference and what'd you'd like out of your phone.
Do you want a note size device or S sized device? I can't see them making the S much bigger or it could canabilize Note sales. Also specs will be better on the S5.
I think you'll always be waiting.. because when the S5 come out the Note 4 will be around the corner and whatever else HTC or LG device that might come out
If size isn't a issue you have no problem get the Note 3..The s5 won't come out in January if you listening to that rumor

There is always something better right around the corner. Larger screen and device or smaller screen and device? That should answer your question.
Honestly, The Note 3 is damn near everything you Could want. It's excellent, I'd get it. It'll still be great this time next year.
sEnt from thE noTe 3
Every time you wait, there will always be something newer/better on the horizon. The St will not have the S-pen so if you want that you need something from the Note line... but as long as you're waiting, I'm sure there will be a Note 4 next year.

Simple question. How is the vibration strength / intensity on the Note 3? Especially anyone coming from S4 i9500? Is it strong or bloody weak like S4?
Thanks.
PS : Anyone who finds the vibration of S4 strong feel free to not comment here

In volume settings you can change the vibration strength.
And my brother has an almost identical N3, and that one vibrates harder so there might be some difrences there...

Lol, I know the settings part. It's always at high for me. I don't get the point of soft vibrations anyway, when I want complete silence mute option is there!
So you saying N3 vibrations differ from model to model? Well it could be right. Not all devices are exactly same, but difference should be minimal. Anyway I need to go to a store and the see / feel the vibration personally.
Btw, how is the build quality of N3? Better than S4 or what?
Note 3 looks and feel better in hands, anyways both are plastic. N3 gives a lil feel of leather finish at the back.

Yes its weird my brother has even the same model type.
But when its on my desk its most obvious, with his we can hear it in the living room. And when mine goes its a lot less loud, doesnt make as much noise when vibrating. :silly:
Never had the S4 so that i dont know.
Hey guys, I'm finally thinking about upgrading from my Galaxy nexus to a Samsung Galaxy Note 3. I'm not seeing that much of a difference between the note 3 and 4 other than obvious hardware upgrades. I use my phone mainly for games and will likely be using it for alot of record keeping for work and blue tooth features. Is Bluetooth good on the note 3?
Very good my friend saying that, if I didn't have my Note 3, I'd most certainly have the LG G3

when u say gaming heads will turn to nvidia shield tablet But about bluetooth, yes i didn't have any issue with bluetooth on my N3
+
for gaming maybe u like to know Samsung Gear VR that pair with Note4 is awesome gaming accessory
:good:
Or the Nvidia shield as mentioned above but most, if not all of the android Samsung, Sony, LG etc phones that have come out within the last year have the adreno 330 GPU so the graphics is only going to appear different on a higher resolution display
