I have a rooted nook with an older version of CWM I would like to update to the latest firmware. I went to Clockworkmod's site and CWM recovery is not listed for the NOOK Color. Where can I get the latest CWM recovery?

Ok, I figured out that I can just flash strightly from booting into CWM, but which rom should I use?
Cm_core_full-118.zip or update-cm-7.0.3-encore-signed.zip?
always use the nightlies (the ones without update_) because every day or so there is a new one with new features. Always have the latest on by checking at this link:
http://cm-nightlies.appspot.com/?device=encore
Use "update-cm-7.0.3-encore-signed.zip"
because the nightlies still have major problems that are not solved.

A. OP this is the incorrect forum to post this.
B. At least use the newest RC so you can have deep sleep. (update-cm-7.1.0-RC1-encore-signed.zip)
C. What major problem does a nightly have?...
thanks for all the replies.
I know there are still a lot of debate on stable or nightly build but the basic idea is to flash the CM7 rom zip directly using Clockwork Recovery, right? I just downloaded a copy of update-cm-7.1.0-RC1-encore-signed.zip and cm_encore_full-118.zip. I am trying to flash them (separately) on top of my rooted nook color 1.0.1 using the Clockwork recovery that has been installed on the nook color but got the same error message:
assert failed.......
E:Error in /sdcard/cm_encore.....
(Status 7)
Installation aborted
Do any of you know why??
update: problem solved, can't use the Colorwork recovery that was installed on the nook color, need to use the one on SD card.
I've seen some roms posting about cwm but I don't have it. I am rooted running khanning's AOSP rom but i wan to flash the cm10 port. When I go into rom manager it recognizes my ideapad as a Transformer so I can't flash clockworkmod recovery there. Is there another place to download it?
If you're using khanning's AOSP rooted rom you already have cwm recovery.
Read 1st post on that thread and he has explained how to get to cwm recovery.
Don't install any other cwm recovery unless you know and are sure about what you're doing. You might brick your device.
install cwm recovery image for IdeaPad K1

I think you need to nvflash to install cwm recovery image first, then use khanning's AOSP CMW Rom.
the link posted by khanning for K1_CWM_120109_Rooted_nvflash_R2.zip is no longer working. does anyone have a refresh link?

From a terminal session:
su
k1recovery
The K1 will will reboot in recovery with CWM running.
I have a friend who has recently gottem a few scratch and dent Nook Colors, and I'm trying to help him install CWM and Cyanogen on them. I have CWM and Cyanogen 10.2, but I've been updating fro older versions, and haven't installed over stock in a while, so I'm trying to make sure I'm up to data eon getting the latest CWM and Cyangen ROMs installed.
So the situation is, if I have a Nook Color that is stock, and has already been rooted, can I install the CWM ROM Manager APK, use that to install the latest CWM image to EMMC, and then boot to CWM recovery and install whatvery ROM I choose, say Cyanogen 10.2? Will different versions of the Stock frimware make a difference?
This is the process I think will work, but its been a while.
Thanks

Follow this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1941858to go from stock (or rooted stock) to CM 10.1 with CWM installed on emmc, along with the ROM ... I chose the latest 10.1 RC from just a few days ago. Process went flawlessly.
Thanks remmian, but that link appears to be for installing to an SD Card, rather than EMMC. I'm going to try and see what I can figure out.
Thanks

I have a Nook Color running CM10.2 and and I'm looking to flash CM11, but this thread says that I need an updated recovery (ClockworkMod 6.0.3.6 and newer). I can't find that version of CWM anywhere. Can anyone help me find it?
Thanks!

Look here for 6.0.4.7 encore CWM recover.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=50438687
One is for normal recovery and the other is for ALT recovery. There are also Touch versions.
Quick question - I rooted my Nook Color to CM7 eons ago and it works fine, however I want to load Kit Kat on there now. Can I simply get the CM11 image and use the ancient version of CWM that I first put on it years back? Or will I need to upgrade my CWM to something more current to load the newer Kitkat kernels?

You will need to use CWM 6.0.4.7 for cm11 nightlies prior to 5/16/14. Use CWM 6.0.4.8 for cm 11 nightlies after 5/16/14.

Great, thanks. As my CWM is so old (maybe 3.x?), is that just a matter of: install zip from sdcard -> choose zip from sdcard ?

Before proceeding make a backup using CWM.
Download the appropriate CWM (e.g. for CM11 Snapshot M6 use CWM 6.0.4.7 & for CM11 5/17/14 nightly use 6.0.4.8).
Boot into current recovery.
Install zip
Choose zip to install
Reboot.
Should now see CWM-based Recovery v6.0.4.7 or 6.0.4.8
Ok, that's what I was hoping. Thanks.

No. It needs to be earlier than v6045. I have v5504 and v6012 on my NC tips thread linked in my signature.
