O2 XDA Mini S MMS Fix

Been reading lots of posts about people struggling with getting the MMS folder to stay in pocket outlook after soft resetting from a hard reset when it says customizing in 3 seconds. So I thought I would write this fix that worked for me.
I came across a post which helped me considerably whilst I had the same problem, I then added my own input to make sure a POP3 account stays as the guy who came across the MMS fix couldn’t get his POP3 account to stay.
The instructions from 1 – 17 have been taken from here:

1) REMOVE STORAGE CARD
2) Hard Reset via Start/Settings/System/Clear Storage
3) Soft Reset when "3 second customisation" warning appears
4) Install TotalCommander (I did this from storage card installed at this stage, but re-removed the storage card as soon as it was installed)
5) Run TotalCommander
6) Browse to \extended_rom\
7) Double-tap CAB-Shortcut-MMS1-JAVA5XX.....
Let it install
9) WAIT 10 MINUTES
10) Stop TotalCommander from Start/Settings/System/Memory/Running Programs
11) RUN MIDLET MANAGER
12) Stop Midlet Manager from Start/Settings/System/Memory/Running Programs
13) Run Messaging
14) Tap down-arrow next to "inbox" to check that MMS folder is there
15) Stop Messaging from Start/Settings/System/Memory/Running Programs
16) Soft Reset
17) Keep fingers crossed while it restarts
Then I added these instructions to make sure a POP3 account stays:
18 ) Add POP3 account
19) Open midlet manager
20) Close midlet manager via memory
21) Leave POP3 open for an hour or so (maybe less time would work)
22) Close POP3 via memory
23) Open pop 3 again
24) Close via memory
25) Soft reset and hope for the best!
18 – 25 are my instructions.

Cannot install or remove programs anymore !!!

Hi all,
something strange happened to my XDA (O2 ROM v2.21.4.101):
* my "remove programs" list is now completelly empty, even if I have many programs installed and running!
* I can no longer install any new program ("exe" or "cab") - installation starts, but always ends with unsuccessful message
* active sync 4.2 no longer connects!!
Apart from this, everything seems to be in order.
Any help/hints would be mostly appreciated, trying to avoid an always painfull "hard reset"...

Hm, have you tried updating your ROM? That would reset your phone and update it so it should work...
But you would loose your contacts etc as you cant sync now? Hmmm

modify the registration:
HKLM\ControlPanel\AdminPassword\Group=0x1(1)
delete the key "Redirect"
Than soft restart. You'll find a "Policy" or "Stratagy" icon in the "System" page of the "Setting" window. Clear the checkbox of restriction.

Thanks for the info - unfortunatelly, I already did an hard reset to the PDA. I will keep it for future reference, though

just for the record that check box was already clear when I looked at it and it didn't do anything for me
Had to do a restore from a back up a couple weeks ago. damn it.
Mine did it after a corrupt install. SOB.

The values basically haven't changed the behavior...
Hi all,
I have copied the values exactly as they were, but still nothing happens...furthermore my ActiveSync on the MDA Vario seems not to recognise any connections, even when the phone is connected with the ActiveSync of the PC. Is there any way maybe to reinstall only the phone portion on ActiveSync in the MDA? I downloaded a file "activesync.exe" from the ftp server. is it the pocketpc portion of activesync?

[HELP] A Problem has occured with poutlook.exe

Hey guys, everytime i go to contacts and then press menu, the menu pops up then i get an error, "A Problem has occured with poutlook.exe"
i have done 2 hard resets and the problem persisits.
i am on a normal 1.56 rom

[Q] Issue with Exchange mail config / HC 3.2

Dear All,
I have one issue when attempting to config email exchange (corporate). after the first config screen (passed), I do no tick the option "download attachements" BUT when finalizing the account set up and first sync, ALL the attachements are downloaded! Then I tried to go back to the account parameters to check the option, but the relevant parameter (in general parameters) is not available (I do have this parameter in my other mail account)!
I have another account (FREE.FR mail which is ok , ie the attachement option can be selected or not). I have tried to erase / create the account several times, but nothing changes...
I did also an hard & soft reboot, nothing change... Of cours Acer technical assistance is useless.
To be clear, the email was working for weeks but I had a pop up "shutdown of precessus com.android.exchange" a lot of times and this pushed me to discard the account. Since this time, I am in the exposed situation.

Hi Evereybody,
In addition to my post, I tried other solutions :
- touchdoxn : is running well (even if I prefer the layout of the native mailbox)
- I tried to copy / PAste (email & exchange apk" from another ROM but useless since I am not rooted...
Can anyone help me to solve this issue?

Key Largo 970 Hard reset deleted all GApps

I have hard reset my Blaupunkt Key largo 970 Unit, now all the Gapps got deleted from the head unit. only basic system apps showing. how to install or recover back those google apps? Please Help!!

But in my player that option is not visible.what to do?
It shows only option as 'closed mode'- 'not closed', 'closed'. Even I tried both option and rebooted,but still my playstore is invisible.
