i recieved my att 8525 about two weeks ago. after updating the rom i cant complain about any major problems(although yesterday it did freeze after a call). but all i read about in the att forums is the problems they have-"white screen",touch screen not responding, lock on slide out keyboard giving out etc.. is this phone worth keeping, has anyone a a positive experience with one. all in all i love the phone, but dont want a fancy paperweight two months from know and dont want to spend $300 on the tilt-i have about a week to decide. any and all feedback would help thanks
I would suggest you're not going to get too much impartial advice in this forum. If people are reading your message it means they have a Hermes and are looking for ways to improve/optimise/play with it.
Personally, I love my phone and am always playing with it and installing or flashing new stuff.
Just a piece of friendly advice - you may want to consider changing the topic of your first post to something a little more identifiable. When you look through the list of topics on this forum all you see if the title so maybe "Should I keep my 8525 or return it?" or something similar? I'd also be tempted to add a poll if I were you so people can just click rather than have to type a reply.
Good luck anyone, but I'd say definitely keep the phone, quality is no worse than any other high end mobile in my experience.
hi everyone
I been long time user but first time posting. well i didn't see the need to post and ask questions or got a chance to reply since you guys are so efficient .. i pretty much found out all the answer by just searching through the forums .. but now i came to a point where my answer rely on people opinions. any way
i am thinking of moving on from my Beloved HTC HERO ..and thinking of getting nexus one or Desire Z or anything you guys might suggest.. but i am definitely keen on nexus one. i been wanting nexus one for long time. i think its time for me to get a second hand brand off ebay or something.. because the price i am seeing is around £250 to £300 . so questions
1) is it worth buying N1 for £300?
2) are there any pros and cons to this model?
3) since i am sure i will be using Custom ROM on this phone. is it still worth buying..
4) any other phone suggestion and why?
Thank you
Oma
P.S sorry if i posted it wrong section but since i am hero user i thought i would ask my fellow hero users and you wont be biased
traded out of interest really, i didnt dislike the htc one, i just like changing my phones... a lot... lol, always wanted to try an S4 and what a mistake that was....
1. The screen while nice indoors, put it anywhere near sunlight and forget it
2. Touchwiz lag and bloat, the amount of crap and novelty software on there is crazy
3. The plastic back really does feel cheap after owning a One
4. Just doesnt seem as smooth or responsive as the One at all, even with the GPe rom
5. For me the battery was nowhere near as good as my One`s, when i put the one as a GPe that battery was excellent
6. The external speaker.... this had never been an issue or me before as i didnt care, but after having "Boomsound" the difference is mahooooosive
the only positive for me was the camera, the One camera really is unpredictable, good shots 1 min and poor fuzzy the next where as the 13mp shooter on the S4 provided great crisp shots all the time, thats the only thing i wish htc had done,
I`ve just been left really underwhelmed by the S4, and im now selling it on eBay after 2 days of usage to return to the One
Just thought id throw this out there for people considering trading

Oh look, another Galaxy S4 VS HTC One thread. This is a new, exciting, and refreshing topic. Also it's against the forum rules.

Why is everyone flaming so hard about the issues? Almost every model has some kind of defect. Just look on the other device's sub-forums on xda... You'll probably see tons of issues.

Because issues bother people, and rightfully so. Where else are we going to vent about them? When I buy something, I expect it to be perfect. If it's not, you betcha I'm going to be vocal about it.
People have every right to deliver their opinion as they seem fit as long as it doesn't personally offend anyone.
Just don't read the, they're your eyes and you control them.

Many get help by complaining about an issue.
If everyone was satisfied with their device as it came there would be no XDA!
I have read a few posts that have bothered me but that is life. Try not to let these bother you.
Read a few more and you will find helpful advice. People on XDA go out of their way to help with complaints and issues. For most a resolution is found.
Watching over time I see someone new asking for help and find later they are giving help to others. That is the essence of XDA.
I mainly complain about false advertising or so. I already know that, no device is perfect. There will be some sort of issue. Now, HTC when the One came out, with it's "Zero Gap Construction" and mine had a gaps on top and bottom, I was very vocal about it. like tobdaryl said, if a device was perfect, there wouldn't be a any XDA, and that would be terrible.
Hi guys,
since the oneplus forums is a total mess and i have a bit more confidence on xda forums, what do you think about the OnePlus/OnePlus One ?
I will buy the phone next week and i would like your opinion.
There is any wierd trick about this device/brand? Ok, i know that probably the support is not the best..
And do you know about people that bought the phone and had some problems with it?
You're new here it seems. Check the existing threads. There is one on Your Thoughts / Opinions on the OnePlus One. There is also a thread I believe on their customer service. I'd recommend checking them out and see if that can get you started.
I feel you on the OnePlus forums. It is absolutely chaotic.
