So I was browsing Imgur and I found this cool gif.
http://imgur.com/gallery/javIBwt
As the caption says: There is no rotational movement in this picture. They are all travelling linearly.
In the comments there are different versions linked that could also make boot animations, but I made the main one an animation.
The size is 800x800 which I think looks good on the Nexus 5. Can't say the same for other devices.

Edit: the preview on the Nexus 5 looks odd. Best viewed on PC

I think your choice is excellent, because it's not so simple, not so complex for other gifs.
Thanks for your converting!

hello all
since i hated the noisy pattern in the 5M google camera. i have decided to replace it with a decent wooden pattern.
so if you hate that noisy pattern in the camera app just like me. then here's something better looking.
instructions:
using droidexplorer
1. first backup original CameraGoogle.apk from "system/app" . just a safety measure.
2. after backing it up. delete it.
3. copy the modified CameraGoogle.apk into "system/app".
that's all.
regards.
screenshot " the best i could get" ! it looks better in my hd2.

It's nice . Thanks man.
p/s: How about the transparent pattern like Sense UI ?^^
It was a quick mod. I will make sense like pattern tomorrow.

Nice man, thanks a bunch
Looks great. Thanks...
Much nicer! Thanks.
dude great mod , thanks
i made 2 variations of this nice idea.
just rename back in: CameraGoogle.apk before following the instructions mentioned above.
i didn't do a screenshot of the gaya-mod (well known customization-styleconcept for desktops featured on deviant-art [even from there is the orig.png file,not my own]). instead i attached the basic file, therefore you get an impression,how it looks like.
enjoy
by the way, I think, this thread belongs to general android themeing = )

Well, it's simple really! I used Photoshop to mimic the tiles and then cut them up into individual pieces, numbered them in such a way so that it's easy to puzzle them back together. Then, I used @Argony-OT's OblyTile application for Windows 8 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1899865) to create my own tiles and made them one by one!
It took a lot of time, granted, but it was definitely worth it Being one of the first people to figure out this trick with Windows 8 tiles is definitely an honour I shall cherish!
I prefer Windows 8 with start button

The Perfect CM9 bootanimation for LG P500 or other MDPI phones(in my perspective )
I know there has been a lot of ports of this animation already on this forum, and I do appreciate their work very much. But I'd like to make it looks PERFECT on LG-P500 so I did some modifications to it last week. I didn't have time until now to share to you my work.
Modified from here. Credits are given to the original author(s).
What makes it different from other mdpi ports of this bootanimation?
It is subtly cropped (logo centered, no oval/distorted logo etc.)
It is in PNG format with minimum quality loss
(In my eyes) It is optimized with some unnecessary frames deleted so it runs as smooth as the CM7 one.
It takes up only about 3.12MB of space!
Animated GIF preview (may differ in appearance with the real one) (due to network speed it may appears sluggish, but this is not the case for my bootanimation)

Please give credit if you use this elsewhere, but feel free to do so! I'd love to hear about it as well.
Disclaimer: I am not responsible for any damages to your phone.
Good effort but my battery says 'Oh please don't use this, it will kill me!'
Yes, but in my opinion a bootanimation lasting for just 1 minute cannot do much harm to your battery.
Anyway thanks for your opinion.
Thank you soo much.
I tried the original one and seemed very sloppy. This one is better. Still lags a bit on the looping part for the first seconds but i'm rather happy with it. Thank you and good job.
Hella badass thanks

How to apply
Great stuff! Nicely done.
Copy from your download folder into \system\media. Do take a backup of the existing bootanimation.zip file to be safe or if you want to revert back.
Wow looks awesome! I like the part when it explodes and says Cyanogen This is probably my favorite at the moment. Thanks.
Hi everyone!!
I have the first level of tab done with FragmentTabHost in FragmentActivity, now I want do the second level(tabs inside tab). What is the best way to do it?
Something like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Why would you want to do this? It seems a bit weird, mainly because it takes up a lot of screen real estate.
I'm guessing there's a better way of implementing whatever it is that you're trying to do .

I found this video from the last Google I/O very helpful, when I had to make decisions regarding navigation: http://youtu.be/XpqyiBR0lJ4

Yep, lots of good ways. I'll have to take a look at that as well!

Worst design pattern ever. That would confuse users so much
If you really need this kind of nested navigation, I guess the right way would be to replace your 2nd tab host with a Spinner allowing to change the fragment in the current tab, with a FragmentTransaction.
(Although I'm pretty sure you can avoid this pattern in most cases if you really think about it).
op pls respond

I chose to put a spinner in ActionBar instead of the first tabhost. Much cleaner now
Thanks

Makes sense.
And it consumes less space.
anyone have the wallpaper from the new Black Edition S4 being launched in Russia in Feb? It looks like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

}
update: edited title to indicate I don't have it but want it.
The title is misleading! And you wasted a thread in wrong section just for asking a simple question.

so I found the wallpaper but not in the right size. Can anyone get this in at least 2160x1920?
Googled your image and found it as a stock image on Getty by Adam Gault:
http://www.gettyimages.co.uk/detail/photo/black-chess-pieces-on-chess-board-high-res-stock-photography/109349485
Site suggests it is available in larger sizes too. Unfortunately it would £510 to license it for the year - using the settings I used.
Have to say, at full-size it doesn't look as impressive as the excellently cropped version. I'd love a cropped version for my S4!
Found on the note3 thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2633658
Edit: For the S4 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2633654

there a way to get the image without licensing it? I've seen it done on several of the Nexus walls where Google borrowed from people who wanted to buy but it was online anyway.
