Hi All,
After flashing new ROM, my first time, the device couldn't connect to the network due to missing IMEI.
I don't know how and why it was deleted.
I have tryied to revert back to the Stock ROM and the same.
I have no support from my service provider because the device is hacked...
Any solutions?
same case happened to me
hi there, just the same thing happened to me when I newly bought samsung galaxy S2, I did many trials to find a solution and a lot of internet research but I could not find any, and a lot of new flashes.
At the end, I re- installed again a stock ROM and went to the service shop where it is still under guaranty, the guys there did not know how to fix it back although they have contacted the VENDER (samsung firm), and at the end they replace it with BRAND New one, I was lucky.
However, when you get a new one, you have to back up a directory called "efs" using root explorer application (have to buy it from market),while u must be rooted, they folder includes the imei data needed, and if you have it already back it up some time back, try to restore it and may be you will have your imei back, (i could not dare to try this after i got the replacement).
My cousin had this problem when he flashed lite'ning rom 6.1 on his new galaxy s 2. I flashed it back to stock XXKH3 and imei and baseband returned. Tried flashing back to 6.1 and again went off so back to stock and everything working fine.
Try restore IMEI technqiues (part of my reserches atthat time):

Using the root explorer method I'm not sure you will be able to restore the IMEI if you corrupt the /efs folder. Have a look at this!
Dude, read the f**king rules!

If your /efs directory got erased due to a flash.. Short answer: Without a backup you cannot restore it. A support request from samsung maybe, but unlikely due to the modified nature of the device.

If only. It's funny how people lose their efs folder then come complaining and researching afterwards. All they have to do is simply back it up.
Return the phone to samsung under warranty and hope for the best OP.

for me, after installing Lite... Rom 6.1, i miss my IMEI, but after installing first rom(with three files!) of middle east, its back to me!!!
Lost IMEI
Are you sure the IMEI is realy lost? sometimes when the modem ****s up or compatibility issues.
I think maybe you should download only the modem which corasponds to the rom you are using, ie, use KH3 modem if KH3 ROM etc.
Give that a try my friend...dont forget to read the instructions in the other threads about the use of odin, I know this is not the appropriate place for this thread but there is no need to be agresive towards people who are learning the ropes
indeed try to flash back to stock rom and then root Backup your efs folder then try flashing a rom again.
i got this also that my Imei was gone flashed back to stock and it was back again.
Someone knows how to reproduce this?
I already have an efs backup but want to try to get a new sgs2 (yellow tint prob).
Cheers
Same here, have had Litening Rom 6.1 (for a couple of months already) and IMEI gone since this morning. The phone can't find the network anymore. It also has problems booting up sometimes. In some cases I need to pull the battery and boot it 5 times in a row before it boots past the first screen.
I guess I need to downgrade as well. (Or upgrade to the latest Litening version, but I'll first downgrade to the original firmware.)
on newer phones they have made it harder to fff up your imei the efs directory no longer exists and the data is saved in a private partition instead..
that is the way it is on my wifes galaxy s gio that i just setup..
just info for thought.
So... I did the stupid thing. I attempted to go back to my old MF9 backup through TWRP after upgrading to MJA, and now my wifi won't even turn on. I've been trying to figure this out for a few hours now, trying various fixes. I've tried to use ODIN to flash back to complete stock, but that just destroys my phone until I flash a recovery through ODIN. Everything I've seen on the forums so far has made it seem as though there is no hope since Samsung added in Knox.
I'm sorry if this has been resolved elsewhere, but I've literally been searching the General. Q&A, Android Development, Original Android Development, and Developer forums for several hours today with no luck. Can someone please help me with this? I just want my phone to be fully functional again...
EDIT:
Here's the deal; my main problem was with Wifi not working. The Stock MF9 Kernel was not working, but the 4.2.2 TW Kernel found here finally did.
did you try this?

Yes. Nothing changed when I did that. I suppose that I should call out that I am currently on MF9.

i just gave up on trying to do a restore. I actually used Titanium to get as much information from my old backup as possible then just rolled with it. I know that probably isn't what you wanted to hear but that what worked for me.. hope that helps
I have read that the WiFi issue may be a Kernel issue.. Did you try a different TouchWiz kernel and see if it worked out?

This is actually what I was trying to do, sadly. Titanium was backing up my info to the phone storage rather than the SD card, and I had to do a data wipe to get to MJA, so I lost them. I figured I could restore to my MF9 backup to redo them, and that's when the trouble started.
I finally got it working. I had to try several different kernels until one finally worked. Now about flashing a new ROM...

What kernel did you use and how did you install it? I'm having a similar issue and can't find a fix.

Scott, check my first post. I edited it with a link to the page with the kernel I used. Make sure that you choose the correct kernel for your Android version. The MF9 and MJA designators have nothing to do with which kernel you need, so make sure to check in your "aboout phone" section to find out what android version you're running. Using the 4.3 kernel on 4.2.2 will cause a bootloop, which is easily fixed by flashing the correct kernel.
Okay so from this thread, I found this post which was linked to this thread and decided to use the "fix" suggested.
Now, I get a bunch of "this app has stopped responding", which YouTube, Bluetooth Share and some others. I don't get any data connection either.
When I open Root Browser, same thing happens.
I was going to try using ADB to try and install Root Explorer but I just get "unauthorized"
Anyone know how I can fix this? :\
Yes i was same problem with polish Kitkat ROM (YouTube, Bluetooth Share,Wifi. I'll try factory reset and then new clean install this ROM. Problem is solved for me ( my Note 3 is now rooted with recovery. Sorry for my bad english

Yeah I was going to do a clean install if there was no other fix. Your English is fine!
However, does anyone know of a way to fix it without a clean install?

Clean install should fix it, I had that stupid rotation issue, so I reinstalled and re-rooted and it sorted itself out... I think KK is still possibly beta hence the issues. But it's turning into a proper ballache now...
I had exactly the same problem after trying that fix. I tired sooo many different things.... But in the end I had to do the wipe.... First time I done a wipe since I had my phone.... I lost a shed load of stuff and I hadn't backed up my stuff for a week either and my full rom backup dissent work because of the new bootloader. I wish I hadn't tried the fix as I didn't really need to

Yeah about 6 or 7 of them were from trying to re-root yesterday
I lost my wifi when i was already running a google kitkat rom and tried to update to a newer version of the same rom.
and after endless flashing different roms and wifi fixes i gave up and took it to a phone repair shop..
He tried to do the same thing i was doing and then couldn't get it to work either.
And told me i need to replace the main board $220 later i am now here.
Android 4.22
Baseband 19505XXUMDC
Kernel version
3.4.0-102938
[email protected]# 1
thu jul 4 22:12:38 KST 2013
build number
JDQ39.19505XXUBMG4
the phone doesn't seem to have root and has stock recovery.
putting it into download mode i get official now. before i had knox01
I have read a few post about a few people that have lost there wifi but nobody has been able to explain why this is.
I really would like to put a kitkat rom back on my phone, but my ill never hear the end of it from my wife if i brake my wifi again.
is there a method i should follow to minimize the risk of this happening again.
,
I would say, its ur old baseband.its a 4.2.2 now.
Do you know which one do u had before?
Flash a 4.3 modem with Odin and then i think it will be working

Why would he flash a 4.3 modem when he has a 4.2.2 firmware mate? Your post doesnt make any sense. Please explain? The op is asking for an opinion without him getting a wifi problem later incase he flash any custom rom/kitkat in a future. And gutterat if you are going to flash any rom do a nandroid backup before you flash anything. IE: EFS and such.

Sorry i edit my post.
When he had a 4.2.2 baseband before too, and tried to flash a Kitkat Google Edition, Wifi won't work with 4.2.2 baseband. U have to upgrade to a higher baseband than 4.2.2 for a working Wifi.
MJ... or newer

im not a total noob
i have rooted and put custom roms on many of my other devices
Galaxy 1
Galaxy 2
Galaxy 3
Acer A500
Note 10.1
Ouya
this is the first time i have broken something and not been able to fix.
I am unsure if the wifi just crapped out or it was a result of me flashing it.
last time when i lost my wifi i think i had nandroid back up ( made a back up in philz recovery )
when i restored still had no wifi
is this how i achieve a nandroid back up or should i be doing something else ?
was it a knox issue that broke my wifi last time ?
should i look into rooting without changing knox
warranty isn't as issue as i don't have any..
Did you buy a new mb
Didnt you try warranty
Was the repair guy a noob
100's of threads about broken wifi, didnt you try any of them fixes.

Hello
Every time I reboot my phone, I loose the notification accesses for android wear, runtastic, coffee...(all except Glanceviewmk).
Am I the only on with this issue? Do you know how to solve this problem? Thank you
I have met this issue wit both OMEGA and Imperium ROM on Lollipop.
I had the same problem, I was advised that if you are rooted then you can use Titanium Backup to freeze GlanceViewMK. This cured it for me.

I had the same problem, but freezing/disabling GlanceViewMK seems to have solved the problem. You can either freeze it with TitaniumBackup or simply rename /system/app/GlanceView/GlanceView.apk to something like GlanceView.apk.old (in case you want to re-activate it).
Thanks for the tip mate.... gymkmb I had the same issue and found this.
