i know this has been asked many times but in all my searching i couldn't find the answer.
i find the tw notification panel extremely hidious and would love to ge the aosp notification panel on my note 3 (tw ofcourse)
so my question is, has it been done? if not is it possible? if yes can somebody please do it (request)
it is not only me who wants this i have seen threads with hundreds of people wanting this and if this done devs would make great use of this and implement it in their own stock tw based roms.
Thankyou to any one who replies !

Same here. I would like an aosp system ui for our note 4. Not just themed. But functionality wise.

CynomogenMOD 7. Should be enough to answer your question.
just incase: Cm7 you can really modify your htc hd2 with some really cool features.
Customization. CM and MIUI roms both come with this feature.

Basically you get stock Android (AOSP) which is freely available to public and manufacturers to modify to suit needs, like adding new UI's like HTC Sense or Samsung TouchWiz etc.
CyanogenMod is simply a non-commercial public mod that has been done to stock Android. Another example is MIUI.
If you want to know more you should simply google Cyangonmod.
Yo doods,
Is there a list anywhere of good roms for the Galaxy Note with Pros and cons or features that they either have or dont have.
Basically i want a really nice stable rom with BLN, I'm on alliance rom at the minute and am happy but i like trying out new roms and really want BLN.
Cheers :victory:

Is this a silly question?

There is no list of ROMs. Go into the Development section, study up, and try a few on for size.
Hi guys
sorry if this has been asked before but what is the best custom rom to install on my phone?
thanks in advance for any replies
There is no such thing as a best ROM.
There is only your favorite ROM.
Best is subjective and depends on the user. Do you want touchwiz or stock android? Do you want speed and performance or great battery life? Do you want to theme it? What features do you want/need? Do you want it to work right away or do you want to tweak it to make it totally custom?
These are questions only you can answer.
The best option for you and the greatest learning experience is to read the threads in the development forum and learn about the different options. Pick a couple ROMs that sound like they might be good for you and flash each one for a few days and test it. See what features you like or dislike. And tweak your final ROM selection based on that.
That is the ONLY way to make sure you get the best ROM for YOU
Hi.
Ok, so I know you guys at xda HATES threads like this, but please hear me out. At least I think I posted it in the right section
I have been searching for days (I promise, so either I'm slightly retarded, or there really is nothing to help me), both google and xda, about different ways to get DT2W on my n9005 Note 3. I'm running CM12 nightlies, and am very happy with it. But I need this, my Home button is broken, and the Power button is well on it's way to break too, and it's a hassle to push it anyways.
I've come up with two solutions:
1: An app called Knockr. It seems to work, somewhat, but after a while I found it to be REALLY buggy. So, uninstalled. Option 1 is no longer a viable solution.
2: Change to a kernel with DT2W support.
Now, I have never flashed a kernel before, but this is what I've figured out:
First, make a backup of boot.img
Done.
Secondly, find a kernel that supports your device AND rom. They are different for TW and AOSP. And different for each device (well, some support multiple devices).
Not found.
I simply CAN'T find a kernel for AOSP roms for the Note 3. I found ONE, it was called "LeanKernel", but it was very simplistic in the way that it was the bare raw of necessities, to prolong battery life and such, no extra features.
So here is my question, and just.. please don't ask me to search more and learn about kernels, I am sick of google right now, and my GF is harassing me about using WAY to much time on this problem.
Are there any other kernels for CM12, n9005? With support for Double Tap 2 Wake? I see there are some for TW based roms, so it should be possible for AOSP as well, right? Please pretty please?
Just a straight answer, or a link to some kernels? Just.. something..
I've tagged this thread as best as I could, and made the topic as informative and specific as I could, in hope that others like me, will easily find it when searching. So.. Yeah... Think about the children, the newbs and the wannabees.. Help us out. Post some good info if you got it
Thanks in advance.
BUMP
Damn I need to find an actual AOSP kernel too...I'm doing some searches but can't find anything...let me know if you find one plz!
hello,
i have a SM-N910W8
i have been searching via google and through threads here, and am still searching, while asking this question.
long story short i need to re-flash my phone. what i want/ am looking for, is a stock ROM, minus the bloatware, with a black menu/ layout. i really liked the black menu of my note 1, and really dont like the white menu of the note 4.
simple, non flashy, straight forward, fast ROM (non laggy)
so many ROMs with so many unique but non descriptive titles/ names, its rather overwhelming to say the least..
please, suggestions, of ROMs
thank you

Hi Pine Sol, probably won't have a ton of help with this request for a few reasons. The Themes and Apps section works to provide themes and apps, not host requests for them. Also, it's all subjective -- what might seem "simple" and "straight-forward" to you might not for me. Just gotta try it!
This might help once you settle on a ROM: [THEME][MOD][6.0.1][5.1.1][5.0.1][4.4.4] Customize Your Galaxy Note 4 (N910F) [25/07] Collection of UI themes, including dark options. Might not be perfect but, like just about everything here, it's free and zero effort for us users. Says it's only tested on the 910F variant but a UI theme should work on more.
thank you for your reply
