[Q] P999 Hangs on load screen after flash - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
As you'll no doubt be able to tell, I'm a noob with custom ROM's. .
I have an LG P999 on Wind Mobile in Canada.
I have:
Rooted the device with SuperOneClick
Installed Super User (The Clockworkmod Version)
Installed Clockwork ROM Manager
Followed Instructions to flash Cyanogenmod 7.
Rebooted.
The phone now hangs as soon as the loading screen appears. The screen with the LG logo and blu-ish shapes.
I have tried Removing the battery and replacing it, then restarting the phone holding PWR and - Volume key.
This appears to run the vanilla recovery with very limited options. No sign of Clockworkmod Manager.
LG Support Tool cannot communicate with the device once it starts trying to update ( or perform update recovery).
I have a copy of Miui G2x 1.8.19, but cannot do anything with it.
Can anyone help me identify where I zigged when I should have zagged?
Thanks in advance.

[Q] LG Optimus L3 E405 Recovery Dead?

Hello,
This morning I tried to root my phone so that I can force everything to be moved to a sd card since the storage of the system is low not enough to install apps and to install A mod that is more updated then the current GingerBread OS.
I managed to soft brick the device the rom clearly said e405 obviously the developer has a few bugs anyway I manage to recover from my soft brick by A software 'KDZ' Only issue I have now is when I press volume up on boot I get A notice icon trying to say something (image of the icon is attached below) and when I use ROM Manager to reboot to recovery it will attempt to go there, Instead of going to recovery it goes to A loading page then this erases all my data/apps except SuperUser/Root.
Tried everything and it still does it?
When I use the LG Emergency Software it just goes to a page saying not responding??
Any help and ideas would be grateful so I can fix this issue and move on also im mostly A samsung user and im fairly new to lg.
See thee error message below
Once i get the idea of what the icon is actually trying to say I should be in the right direction.
Thanks,

Perhaps you can go to ROM Manager, uninstall Recovery, then re-install it?
I don't really know. I'm sorta new to this stuff.

I saw that icon after flashing back to stock rom with KDZ and a hard reset worked for me. Pull the battery, make sure you not connected to USB or charger, then press and hold home key and down volume while you press power on. Release power when you see LG logo, hold the down and home for a while until you see android unpacking a box. It takes about a minute to see this, so you gotta wait for it. The phone reboots or shut downs, don't rememberwhich

Ok I will try that and let you know if it works in a few hours I gave the phone to my brother for free since I bought A samsung (used to samsungs and love then
Anyway should also mention that when I try to reboot into recovery with rom manager it reboots goes to the loading box thing then it wipes my data Like i said I tried that method in a few hours and get back to you here.
nope
didn't work ;.(
Man go to the screen u have posted the images above , then use KDZ to flash back Man!
This is "DIAG MODE" so select it in KDZ program
So select KDZ file ( download if u have tried urs so far)
No error .. when u click to start upgrade ur phone will apper in emergency mode. Then the KDZ will flash flawslessly

Still didnt work it flash though but still didnt fix the recovery..
These lg are actually useless a simple firmware flash should do the job.
LG staff are also rude to be honest rang up and because I tried to root and I was doing the right thing going back to stock they denied support and hang up without me giving A reply. Glad ive switched back to samsung s4 and Apple IPhone 5C.
Thanks for attempting to help :.)

[Q] Hard bricked G2 after flash

Hi everyone
I may have bricked my G2. I use to have a Samsung Galaxy S which I flashed many times so I kinda know when I mess up with instructions. This time though, things look a bit more serious... Anyway, here is what happened:
I flashed the Cloudy G3 rom (1.0) for my G2 D802 32gb. Original rom was stock rooted 4.4.
I followed the instructions :
- Backup rom
- All wipes
- Flash kitkat baseband
- Flash rom zip
- Get through the aroma installer steps
But then, when it asked to reboot, the phone just shut down.
Now it won't turn on. All I have is a quick look at the LG boot logo, and then the screen goes all black (blacklit is still on) again.
All I managed to do so far is maintaining the LG boot logo a bit longer on screen by alternatively pressing volume + or - at random times.
I can't access recovery or download mode anymore.
Plugging the phone will only show the LG boot logo and do all the same.
The phone is no longer recognized by my computer.
When I plug it, I get 13 new windows asking me to format the device and one I can explore.
Inside, there is one folder named "Image", filled with 51,4 Mb of files...
Quite confusing.
I don't know what to do, so any help to get the phone back to work will be appreciated
Thank you in advance.

At least I'm not alone
I found this thread but haven't tried yet. Don't know if the problem is similar.
I really hope the phone isn't dead, it's almost brand new
This is exactly what I have . The main problem is we can not see phone partitions. Always the alarm "can not access " or "format" !Waiting for some body to help restaure our LG G2.

Are you still under warranty. If you can't get into download mode that means that LG won't be able to either. You could process a return directly from LG.
Problem solved ...
Somehow I did manage to hard reset (vol - & power, wait for LG logo, release and then press vol - & power again) and then access recovery mode, so I did restore my backup (which had been renamed to ... 1970-05-01 ! lol) and my G2 is now back to life.
Weirdest thing ever... Kinda worried about flashing it again now !
Thing to remember : always have a backup file.
You are lucky man! I've done it but nothing after. I can access to hard reset but when I push power button the screen goes black as before ....
Is it actually in "Download Mode"?

So, if my G2 shows "Download Mode" on the screen with the little white dots, but it's not recognized by Windows 7, Ubuntu, or Knoppix, and is for all intents and purposes, non-responsive, does anyone know if it's actually in "Download Mode"?

[Q] Stuck on Bootscreen after flashing CWM (D802, 6.0.4.7)!

Hi there!
So I rooted my LG G2 (D802, 4.4.2, Stock, used ioroot) yesterday.
I intend(ed) to flash the Optimus G3 Rom, in the start post they recommended to flash cmw/twrp via "Simple Tool 3.2" (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2633941). After doing so (I used the automated version, not the manual one) I got STUCK ON THE BOOTSCREEN. There is a notification popping up for a few seconds in the left upper corner which lists several errors occurring:
BOOT CERTIFICATION VERIFY
SECURE BOOTING ERROR;
CAUSE: BOOTCERTIFICATION VERIFY
along with the following numbers listed from top to bottom: 710, 760, 810, 860, 910, 960 (I just noticed, the numbers can vary, but always follow the same pattern...)
after this message, the screen fades to black, I think it it is still running though, since it takes more than 10 seconds to reboot the phone by pressing the power button. I still have access to the button down/power button combo which leads to a factory reset setting, but it doesnt do anything for me since I still get stuck at the lg boot screen.
I
Atm I dont what to do! Enter download mode and flash something? I'm seriously kind lost here. So, thank you for your help!
Cheers
You flashed a custom recovery version thad doesin't match you phone ( example you flashed D801 recovery on D802 phone )
Just search in Q/A and you find the solution to fix it. Be calm , if you phone is booting - you can fix it
If you are lazy , i searched it for you. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2694530

Thanks a ton!! Finally I can put a name on the problem (bricking...)- Ironically I never mangaged to get there in 3years of samsung flashing but got there within 15mins of flashing on the LG G2. I guess it's true what they say about samsung devices, as hard to brick as a brick...
I'll report back if it worked...
Weeell, as it turns out my phone isn't recognized by my pc (Win 7) anymore...I literally can't do anything. Any hints?
I can use the Tool, but it's always trying to connect to my phone without success. But when I connect my phone to the computer it opens a dropbox window (import photos) and several windows partitions, which it tells me to format...

[Q] LG d802 recovery hell

Hi All,
I hoping some kind soul will guide/lend a helping hand here?
Here's my problem, I own an LG G2 d802, running kk4.2.2, rooted via towelroot.
Today I decided to for the first time to delve into the world of custom ROM's and what a mistake it was
Basically I downloaded TWRP for d802(img), gapps(d802 version), and cm Resurrection Remix and then I made the fatal mistake of using Flashify to flash TWRP to my phone and rebooting. After doing this I can no longer enter download mode, recovery mode, and when I try to go to either I get the ERROR: boot certification verify: secure booting error.
When I i plug my phone into my computer (drivers & LG support tool installed) my computer recognizes my device, however it displays around 10 or so removable drives i.e f, g, r etc and lots of messages appear saying i need to format them before they can be used and Support tool doesn't recognize my phone as being connected at all
I have searched lots of threads and now realize that Instead of using Flashify I should have used Autorec(lesson learned), I have also searched for possible solutions and the only
one which looks remotely viable is here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582142
My only problem is I have LG G2 d802 32gb model and the files in the above guide/solution are for the LG G2 d802 16gb 10a and even then if they was the correct files I think i would still have a very hard time following/using the files to make my phone live again and also have no knowledge/exp with Linux distro's.
I am a total noob/idiot and don't have a clue how I am going to fix my phone and have pretty much pulled out whats left of my hair in despair!!
Please help me.
Kindest regards, Dark.

I am literally going insane now is there no one here that can even be so kind to say if the above is even the correct way for me to go? or point out a way which may be better or a step by step/link to things I need?
I really don't have the exp/confidence or knowledge to be bale to know if its correct or not and really don't want to make things worse by trying something that may not be right
Can find threads and websites which have similar type situation but all seem to have slightly different to my own as most can seem to have download mode or still be able to boot their OS but i cant do either.
is this below method any use for my situation?

You say in your original post you're running KK 4.2.2. 4.2.2 is Jellybean not KitKat, so which one are you running exactly?
If you didn't use AutoRec your bootloader should still be a Kitkat Bootloader since AutoRec's job is to downgrade your Bootloader to Jellybean.
There are 2 ways to access Recovery Mode on a G2 depending on the current Bootloader.
Method 1 (Jellybean Bootloader)
Turn G2 Off. Hold PWR + VOL DWN, when LG Logo appears let go and hold PWR + VOL DWN.
Method 2 (KitKat Bootloader)
Turn G2 Off. How PWR + VOL DWN, when LG Logo appears, let go and hold VOL UP + VOL DWN.
Do either of those work?

Well since you can't access Recovery Mode, you can't access Download Mode and your receiving a Boot Error, It sounds like your only option here is to follow this tutorial.
As for the files you need, you have a 32GB D802. Download this .7z package and extract it. You'll find all the .img files you need. Now follow the tutorial .

Help! Can't flash ROMs from Flyme OS 5.1.1 system!

So there I was, using Cloudy 3.3 on my G2 international model (d802) when I thought to myself: Why wouldn't I change the ROM. I guess I got bored of it and while in the past year I tried almost EVERY ROM (at least every 5.1 lollipop ROM and these new marshmallow ROMs) I wanted something different this time. I remembered that Flyme OS system and wanted to give it a go. I found one here on xda site, I think it was Flyme 4.1 or 4.0 or something like that but I decided to go for a ,,newer" version of the system.
I found Flyme OS on this site: http://www.flyme.cn/firmwarelist-14.html
And as you can see the entire site is in Chinese but I managed somehow and downloaded it. I had TWRP 3.0 installed and I think I know the thing or two about flashing ROMs on this device. The whole installer is AROMA based and even though it was in Chinese I managed to flash the system. And that's when I knew I f****d up. After I installed it and it booted up, I figured that I'm not really into the whole Flyme interface and wanted to revert to stock. But I couldn't!
1. I no longer have download mode, when I stick USB cable and hold volume up it shows me an animation of ,,download mode'' but then in upper left corner appears a message saying ,,boot secure error'' or something like that and then it shows me a black screen.
2. I no longer have my TWRP recovery installed.
- I can't use 3rd party apps to restart my phone into recovery because this OS is NOT rooted! And I can't even root it because there's no method for it. I tried the default rooting method for MEIZU phones which include you logging in to your Flyme account and all of a sudden ,,root permissions'' option appears in your settings - DIDN'T HAPPEN. I also tried other different methods but to no avail. It just can't be rooted. - Even when I turn the phone off and try to do the hard reset thing with simultaneously holding power + volume down button - it won't show me the LG's default ,,factory reset'' screen which could potentially lead me into TWRP. It just boots normally!
So, the conclusion:
I flashed an unknown Flyme OS system for LG G2 from a Chinese site and it works decently good but when it installed - it turned my G2 completely to a MEIZU phone. I have no clue on how to revert it and PLEASE I would appreciate any help given. Before giving your opinions in the comments, do read every sentence I wrote above.
Thanks in advanced.

Did you tried going to recovery mode by completely shutting off your phone and then pressing volume down + power button simultaneously. If goes into recovery mode as you said you have no twrp installed. What does it shows and also what happens when you connect your phone to pc in recovery mode?.
P.S i recovered from a similar issue like you on my sprint g2

I tried going to recovery with my phone being completely shut down, however, it simply turns the phone on. No button combination gets me into recovery anymore. As if it simply vanished from my phone (the recovery, of course). It doesn't show the default ,,Factory data reset" option when I hold volume down + power button whilst turning the phone on. No options whatsoever. So I didn't even get the chance to connect it to the PC while in recovery, since there's no recovery installed on my phone.
