Ok so Not one response. 56785 members on and everyone is dead silent, wow what a swell bunch. So with that I figured it out myself,Thanks to the guy who wrote did all the changes in the Snd Soc MsM 2x Fusion3 files and all. Made my life a bit easier when i found the correct downloads. How to get them from the computer to the Phone was a whole another issue. But it is done and tomorrow I will give complete directions how it was done where to get files, where to download on your computer and how to get it over on the phone and the files changed. Ill tell ya what programs that i downloaded and worked and what was awaste of time.Last it does help increase the volume like it said so , Nice.
All I do Know is this works for Samsung Galaxy S4 on the Sprint Network which is like Model sp720 or something. With 4.3 currently running , And yes the phone i stock rooted with no Roms added.

ICS update success but no Ring interface!?

It is disappointing to see that there was no ring interface after the ICS update. Mainly I was eager to see the Ring interface but nothing.
Is this something we can install separately? or does anyone know the Cyanogenmod or AOKP mod versions has this in their tailor made ROM? If so I will be happy to flash this official ROM and loose it.
Hello, if your tablet is rooted you can download the Acer ring here: http://www5.zippyshare.com/v/16045348/file.html

Hi Thanks for the link - but need to ask you a few more questions.
Since you say 'if my tablet is rooted..' after I had mentioned that I did the official upgrade my question is - even after rooting are these official updates possible?
Second question is, how do I root my tablet? please point me to a link where I can learn more on this.
thanks

Root method
If you go here it will give you all the info you need to get full root. I used it on the new update and it works.
Just take the time to read the instructions fully.

Don't want to give you false hope, but just installing that apk won't make the ring work. There is more to it then that.
That is why there are custom roms with the ring.
Never mind I see why I have the ring, John isntalled the internal Acer build with the Office ring that is dual layers with communication hub.
Personally it's an annoying feature I enjoy NOT having.

[RK3188/3066/2918] Custom Firmware Tool for Windows

Longtime lurker. But its time to contribute! I recently bought a TimingPower RK3188 and searched high and low for these tools. After endless hours of searching and translating Chinese and Japanese I brought this little package together to build your own CFW. This probably isn't for complete newbies but I made it as simple as possible. I can confirm it works on my TimingPower RK3188 using Rockchip Batch Tool as well as copying update.img to SD. Anyway, enjoy!
This is what it does:
Extract update.img as well as system.img
Pre-root your firmware
Open system folder to edit your rom
Repack update.img
I cant post links so previews are a no no I guess. Let me know how it works. If this is the wrong section I apologize.
Thanks !!
Would like to bring to your attention (as you seem the only Chef so far) :

Hope you can help contribute to the thread, and possibly have the first full solution, root, CWM, CFW, custom ROM

I am quite happy with them. However, some notes are in order. I received them with firmware 20130715 installed, and that does not support 1080p. The timingpower.com website offers 2 updated images for it, one 20131101, the other 20131104. The 20131101 image has some improvements over the 20130715 version, but still offers only 720p, but the 20131104 version does offer 1080p. I updated both units to the 1104 version, and it went smoothly, but it can be a bit unstable at times. The screen and sound cut out at random intervals, but I got used to that, even thought it is quite annoying. Overall the picture is amazing (i use it on a 65" flat screen). Speed is acceptable, not a gaming computer, but fast enough. Takes a bit to get used to using it, keep wanting to right-click stuff for options, and get dumped back a screen.
Suggest that you get a USB 2 hub (more ports are better). I connected a USB keyboard, USB mouse and USB camera (all cheap, nothing fancy), and they all worked fine. However, the tiny Bluetooth keyboard (IS11-BT05) that I got, doesn't seem to work. It pairs up just fine, and shows as recognized, but after that, nothing.
One caution note: if you do flash your device, make sure that you use a newer computer, with USB 2.0 , really old PC's with USB 1.1 will not work.
Making your own version of the ROM shouldn't be too difficult. Plenty of advise here, and there are even some tools available on the TimingPower site. I'm in the middle of customizing mine, and I have not found it particularly difficult. I mainly want to scrap some of the basic stuff, and make it more sleek (to my tastes). I am also considering incorporating a dual-boot option, for Android <-> Linus (not sure of what flavor yet).
BTW, I have an English translated version of the Chinese RKBatchTool Manual, should anyone need it.
thanks!

Nemesis Rom patch for GSM N910P

This thread is dead! Please delete!
aaron74 said:
I tried posting this other night but xda started maintenance that night. And I just started new job and van broke down tonight. So I'm late. But anyhow this is what I wrote that night.
After seeing last few post(pg 85) of Nemesis Rom. I decided to put a patch together for you guys installing on GSM 910P (should also work for N910T also). This is how i installed this on my device and works.
Because this is aroma Rom I didn't want to flash fixes after Rom.(I wasn't sure if it'd cause a problem). So this will help you integrate. This patch already has T Mobile data patch inside and also works for Sprint gsm users like me.(personally cause I use gsm, I prefer it This way). Sorry Sprint users i can't help.
This patch also includes RamV2 kernel for Sprint. But there's also 2 empty folders one for N910T and one that's called Custom. That's where you put your boot.img.
If you need to edit build.prop further for your data it's in there but works for me as is.
Also note I left the 2csc files (features.xml & others.xml) untouched.
Pretty much all I did was add the aurora data fix minus csc edits. Plus options for kernel. I also added Flipboard cause i like it over upday.
How to use.
1. Unpack Rom.
2. Unzip my patch twice (I double zipped it so noobs can't try installing in twrp)
3. Put your boot.img in folder you want.( In /nemesis/kernel/your device)(already has Ram V2 in N910P)
4. Copy all files over to root of Rom zip.
5. Repack Rom and flash.
Choices will be in aroma for your kernel.
Enjoy!

Unfortunately I couldn't get it to work on my N910P
Aroma ROM didn't recognise my kernel.
It showed kernel for only N910F and N910G
I later put my boot.img into in both folders on two different times but ended in bootloop and intermittent vibrations.
Thanks again for your guide
I'm grateful

So sorry for that. When I built the patch I put the wrong build.prop in it. I was testing different settings on my device and that was a bad one. :crying:
I fixed link and updated post. Everything should be fine now. It is identical to the Rom I packed that I installed. :good:

Ok @aaron74 I'm going to give one more try.
But can you give a detalid guide as to the kind of files to be copied to which destination?
The last time I copied only the boot.img file to the nemesis/device name folder in the original Rom.
I see META-INF in your patch, do I have to copy that as well and overwrite it since folders with same name are found in the original Rom?
Thanks

Sorry but my time is limited to a few hours at night, to get on here. I use to get on all the time, was self employed, but now working for someone.
But you copy the whole folders over to root of Rom. But you obviously got it working.
I made a post already on devs thread. Told him he could post it there if he wants. I didn't post it there cause it's just for our device and didn't want to disrupt his thread.
Glad you got it going. I love this Rom. Runs good, good battery, awesome Rom control app. Other N7 ports run alright to but I hate that bright white boot up screen they have, plus I have to mod them a lot to get running right.
I just hope this dev stays with the project.
And no, I am not a genius. I've just retained a lot of knowledge from tinkering and from all the dev and modders here on xda. But thanks for the vote of confidence.

Also, Do you use Sprint service? (Cdma)
Or GSM service?
Battery usage.
I've been running Rom for 3 days now. So battery stats should be calibrated ok by now.
Below are some pics of my battery usage. I've been working a lot so you can see I don't have much screen on time. But I think the battery usage of this Rom is very good, especially with the Ram kernel.
Do you have to resign zip for success?
Edit: After having issues attempting to install the rom with this patch, I did the following to successfully install:
1. Unzip Rom
2. Unzip patch twice
3. Take the folders inside of the Nemesis-patch folder and copy them to the inside of the NEMESIS_V2_NOTE7_PORT_N4_SNAPDRAGON folder.
4. Select everything inside of the NEMESIS_V2_NOTE7_PORT_N4_SNAPDRAGON folder and zip it up as NEMESIS_V2_NOTE7_PORT_N4_SNAPDRAGON_PACKED
5. Transfer NEMESIS_V2_NOTE7_PORT_N4_SNAPDRAGON_PACKED to the root of your sd card
6. Flash packed zip.

I use GSM.
You are a genius because you made it possible for me to install a ROM that I wanted so badly
Only problem is the ambient light sensor.
It doesn't work properly
The screen goes very low even in bright environment.
To get it working I always have to pretend to make a call and put the phone close to my ear and back before it works
But for that and the fingerprint, everything works flawlessly.

That's from AOD. It's buggy on all these N7 ports. Either turn it off. Or what seems to help me, if your screen opens up dark, just relock phone pushing power button, and immediately push it again to unlock it.
It's been working for me, and only takes 5 extra seconds. AOD also flashes for me, which I haven't found a cure for yet.

I figured that you didn't have to zip. And yes, I was working with your newest build.prop. I am on a Sprint phone with gsm for freedompop, but about to use tmobile.
I am seeing some issues with the rom though that I didn't see in Norma v10.
1. NFC is missing
2. Rom Control is different
3. I am unable to titanium backup restore many things which causes FC's all over the place.
4. AOD is horrible.
Is there any way to grab AOD, NFC and Rom Control from Norma v10, since they are fixed on that rom?

Sorry bud. I haven't had much time to get on here.
Yes I wrote the thread a lil vague, more for people that are use to this stuff.
When I get some time, I can try to walk you through this and make a lil better guide.
This is just bad timing. I got so many things going at once. Just started new job, fuel pump went out on car, just bought a new ssd for my laptop trying to get time to install fresh Linux. Just put new 128gb sd in this phone and all my files are gone. Between all that and Christmas stuff with kids.
I use to be on here hours at a time down to hours per week.
I actually just seen new Ram V3 kernel for our device and was gonna update. I'll get back with ya. :fingers-crossed:

We have rom support!!!!

I have the s7 active that I got a few, days ago. I seen that this thread doesn't have any support for roms well I'm here to tell you that all of this changes now! The g930A roms work the edge varient roms work however I've so far only tested with echo rom and used the s7 edge setup since the build prop is 3600 mah. Editing the build prop to be that of the active caused of to vibrate alot and thus I'm returning it to stock. All other features minus the active button work. Power button works home button works and the double tap for camera, when it wants to lol. Also volumes. Back and menu do not work. I'm not a dev but I got a massive set and I wanted this tested since I got the g935F and miss the custom stuff. SU stays in tact as well. Ill try to get picks of my homework for you guys lol.
You don't have to do this but it'd be much appreciated since I lost my job a month ago due to family deaths. But donations are greatly welcomed. I've been inactive on here for awhile now but I felt its time to show some love to the community.
Lastly: ill get anyone whos interested a tutorial that I used to get everything set up. All things do work minus the stuff I. Mentioned and I'm no dev by any means.
I would potentially be interested in this
Its a fairly simple process. Could anyone be it a dev or someone with them page making skills for roms and the like jimmy up instructions if I give them the details? Idk anything bout forums other than download and reply to things lol
To those interested.
#1 Root with the original method
#2 flashfire and rom of your choice I use echo rom first boot takes 15-20 mins.
#3 flash rom as if you would if you used twrp. wipe etc etc.
Once the phone boots it'll say secboot invalid or some error so boot to download mode.
#4 flash the unlockboot.tar used to get SU access for root.
#5 profit!
#6 optional donation would be welcomed
Hey I am new a new member to xda. I have been rooting phones for awhile. I don't have much experience but went to itt tech for software development before they shutdown . I would really be interested in helping u . Can u send me the full instructions to port the g930a roms. And thanks for urban work so far.
your all good captain. i actually didnt port any rom over. just flashed as it was was and once flashed in flashfire, i used odin the flash the boot image/kernel and from there its touch and go. 1st boot takes about 10-20 mins so i suggest a fan with cool air on it for the duration. sorry for the lack of reply, been busy looking for a new job and such.

cant find a place for donations, but heres my pp if anyone would care to donate. https://paypal.me/waynejohn/ just add an amount you find acceptable if any
donations are not needed but they do help me in staying motivated.
to add more captain, im not too computer savvy but im more android savvy and 95% of all i do i do via the phone itself with root explorer. most versatile apk ive ever had the privilege of using. i wish i knew how to use the kitchen because id make roms left n right if i had a way too. once i get the phone back, ill look into getting a dump or some kinda whatever for ya if need be. i really wanna flash twrp on it via the flash fire since the g935a ROM took. my theory for that is, if it took the ROM why not the twrp? same internal minus the battery and water proofing just under a different name. i also tried taking the build prop off the stock active ROM and putting it on the echo rom but that causes them fruity boot loops hahaha. still feel twrp would work tho.
Below is a gofundme I just made for this new project of mine. Which is galaxy related. If you have time check it out and please share, donate if able or both.

so once you have the echo rom from the standard s7 booting on the phone, do all the buttons work ok ? active button ? front buttons ?
does everything else work ok ? memory card, bluetooth, wifi, camera etc ? ..
Is anyone still trying this out? Flashing s7 or s7 edge roms through flashfire? Are the buttons broken? Anything else?

since then i found out WHY you got all the errors , and HOW to fix them all, so all the buttons work as they should, and so you dont get those horrible blue error screens...
made my own mod, and released it properly, and then ironed out nearly all the problems from first release....
and am working on a new release to keep all the mods, but keep the original unlaggy kernel

For your query reagarding LineageOS, the best way to find out is to visit their portal and check the supported device list.
Regarding rooting, to simplify understanding as to why it is difficult for some devices:
Vehicle = Mobile Device
Person = Kernel/Driver
Vehicle Key = Bootloader
Mechanic = Engineering Kernel (Substitute)
Passenger = User
Any "Vehicle" can be driven by any "Person" as long as he has the "Vehicle Key" and the person knows how to drive (and has a driver's license).
Using this logic in the case of Galaxy S7 Active:
We could not obtain/borrow the "Vehicle Key" and the "Person" who knows how to drive the "Vehicle". The closest we've ever come to was having found a "Mechanic" who can hotwire the vehicle and attempt to start and drive it--but NOT efficiently or reliably; no warranty or certification at all. As the "Passenger", you take the risks associated with this attempt.
Cheers!
If senior member would help me gain active, working root, and debloater installed, I'd gladly donate to PP or GFM, I've got both on my phone. But would love Root Access & debloater to move apps that "I" want to SD Card and to be able to uninstall AT&T & Samsung bloatware. I'm a member, Jr. Forgot password

Ok, I see a SR Member has gotten root and all buttons working properly. Also see asking for donations. I still have an S7 Active and won't update yet because I love the functionality of all the buttons. Don't like dedicated Bixby or I'd have a new S8 Active. I'd love to get root access to move apps that I want to go to SD Card and the other functions it allows. I would love the debloater installed to get rid of AT&T & Samsung bloatware. I'm a novice to this... but if SR Member would help me achieve successful root and install debloater, I'd happily donate to PP or GFM...

If SR Member would help me gain active, successful root and install debloater, I'd gladly donate to PP or GFM. Would love the freedom to move apps that I want to go to SD Card and the AT&T & Samsung bloatware gone... that's worth it to me to donate!!!

Phone rings when called but unable to answer

Hopefully this is the correct forum, if not please let me know.
I have tried a couple custom stock XT1575 ROMs. Everything installs great except when my phone is called, the dialer
won't open. I hear my phone ring or vibrate depending on what it is using, just nothing comes up to allow me to answer
it. The latest custom stock ROM I installed today is moto_x_pure_edition_custom_stock_x1575_mphs24.107-58-1_v1-odexed.
Has this happened to anyone else, is it a known problem with the custom stock ROMs? Any help is appreciated. I can't
use the phone so it's just sitting in a corner.
Have you tried puretrue rom . I have flashed 3 roms 2 custom stock Rom and one nexus rom.But never faced this issue . Maybe clean install will help you.

Every time I've installed the ROM, everything was wiped first, including the install I did earlier today.
I've tried a few other ROMs from here, didn't quite like them (not sure if the one you mentioned is one I tried) so wanted to use the custom default Motorola ROM which I liked. They are rooted and have super user. If you know the link to that ROM you mentioned, I don't mind looking into it. Thanks
Go to Settings > Apps > Gear icon > Default Apps > Select 'Telephone' for Phone
Can't believe this is still a thing! This is an old *ss small issue which has been discussed over and over again!
Now with this Help thread open I hope people will learn!

Yes, I understand it's been around a while. I've searched for answers and all the suggestions have not made a difference for me. I have also searched a little on here using different terms but could not find anything either. If you know the answer, can you assist? I understand you may have seen this a few times but not everyone has, like me. I just want to know the fix, is that so bad?

I've already attempted that, didn't help. Tried a new dialer app, didn't make a difference either. Made sure it was the default and that notifications were on for the app also. Thanks

Your described issue seems just the usual "no default phone app selected" , which solution is to just set one. If something else is going on I can't help, I've never encountered other root issues to this (not by experience not by reading). Sorry!
But we could go through this and try troubleshooting.
You are using a custom stock so probably already got root permission.
1) Install logcat or matlog
2) start recording and call your phone right away using a second phone while leaving the screen on
(try upping the screen time to 5 minutes let's say, this way there is no loginfo we are not interested in there beside the call intent)
3) After that, hangup and stop recording the log then share a link to the file here (file ! Don't paste in pls)
Let's hope there is a debug warning or error which will tell us what's actually going on!
On the other side of thing, you do have a XT1575 right ? Or you are using XT1575 Ron on XT1572 ? Not a biggie but quit relevant for modem file!
In the morning I'll give it a look, now I'm heading to bed (2AM here)

Hope you have already solved this problem. But if you are still facing same issue then this is perfect rom if you want to stay close to stock.

Thanks, just got home from work myself. I am using the XT1575. The default phone app is chosen. I'll see what I can
do about the logging suggestions you mentioned. I may not get to that today as I have a few things to do before
heading into work.

Thank you, I'll download now.
Thanks for the assist all of you. I decided to install the TruPureXMM-2.9 ROM and so far I'm liking it. It has a few quirks but the dialer works
from the get go which is the main thing. Those ROMs from the other Moto style installs must have something inherently wrong designed
in them not to work right from the start.
