Root With Kingo 1.1.7 - Verizon Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So on Kingos FB page they have a link posted to download Kingo 1.1.7 http://limelinx.com/f4qba
I just got my Note 3 SM-N900V a week ago so it has android 4.3 MJE for verizon and this root worked fine and did not trip the KNOX Sensor
Currently the Updated 1.2.0 does not work with it. and since the 1.1.8 is nowhere to be found i decided to try it and it worked :highfive:

rooting dilemma Kingoapp safety

Rooted my MJE build with Kingoapp but then trying to upgrade to the leaked KitKat I made a mistake and got a soft brick. So reverted back to MJE stock and then started reading all the safety concerns on Kingoapp (not being open sourced, sending your IMEI to foreign servers, etc)
Tried root de la vega about ten times but each time resulted in a error in ODIN and a sot brick bringing me back to stock MJE. Are the issues with Kingoapp still exist? any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

I believe that whole deal with Kingo has been somewhat solved. Many people have used it, including me. The only other solution is vroot, which installs a couple Chinese applications on your phone. You have to use an older version of Kingo for it to work though, for some reason the newer versions aren't working for most. Search for a download of 1.1.6 (I believe that is the version that was working).

i checked official SAMSUNG WEBSITE daily as waiting kitkat releasing to my device region
yesterday samsung released KITKAT 4.4.2 to my device country region which is United Arab Emirates XSG and dated 20 Augest 2014!!!!!!?
the firmware name is G7102XXUBNH5_G7102OJVBNH1_XSG
I had two questions hoping you help me as your answer will guid me to upgrade to kitkat or not?(as you know you cann't downgrade from kitkat to Jelly bean after upgrading and without root i cann't run many helpfull Apps):
1- is towelroot rooting this Android version "kitkat" ? if not ,then how to root kitkat 4.4.2 without flash it(i mean just root ,not full flashas by "CF-root" :as you know you can root your device without flashing it by Geohot great tool " towelroot v.1").
2- is this release G7102XXUBNH5_G7102OJVBNH1_XSG had problmes ?what you advice me?is it appreciate to upgrade to kitkat using it or waiting for other kitkat versions like 4.4.4?
your opinion and advice and comment really helping and will be appreciated
Thanks for care.
today i stop waiting and i successfully flashed kitkat NH5 and found the following:
no important update with kitkat other else towelroot would not working v.1 and v.3 with string,so i search and found only CF-Auto root to root my device and i did it successfully and my fears about flashing root method diminished
my advice is :donn't update to kitkat NH5 it is just a time wasting
Regards
Many problmes with KITKAT:
1. unexplained restart without doing anything on the phone
2.copy files from internal storage to SD card is limited only to two company's programs:SAMSUNG & GOOGLE while the others Apps was denid
3.new keyboard which hide charachters untill you still pressing :bad change
and daily i found new mistakes
really donn't upgrade to kitkat,Jeally bean is great:good:

Root P605 with Towelroot for 4.4.2, How it worked

If you just upgraded from 4.3 to 4.4.2(or you just want to root 4.4.2) and lost your root privilages and when you do towelroot you get the following massage ""This phone isn't currently supported", please do the following
2 - download and install Towerloot - NOT USE NOW;
3 - download (https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...2%20kernel.rar) and flash 4.4.2 NEE NF2 kernel (this firmware is older than 3 june);
4 - now you are able to root the device as usual with Towelroot (there are a lot of guides on XDA);
5 - download (https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...1%20kernel.rar) and flash 4.4.2 ITV NG1 kernel.
6 - Check root with RootChecker anch check Knox00 with PhoneInfo;
7 - Enjoy!

I Want to Root, But The Cell Gods Will Not Allow It

I have a Note 3 (SM-N900W8 - Telus) that I have had for about 6 months. I have had an original Galaxy S and an S3 which were both rooted.
My phone updated to Lollipop so I had to forgo rooting since everything I read said I couldn't root 5.0 with the new bootloader.
I read about downgrading to Kitkat 4.4.2 so I could root and yesterday I took a chance and did it. I used the official 4.4.2 ROM from Sammobile
and using Odin, I flashed it and after a few tries, I got it to work. Now that I am back on Kitkat, I tried Kingroot (the APK) and it failed to root
my phone.
De La Vega now says it can not root 4.4.2, so my question is, is 4.4.2 rootable? I have read a lot about rooting and there are so many opinions
about what works and what doesn't that I wanted to post here to see if I could get a consensus about this. I know many people are rooted
on 4.4.2, but I just want to know the best way without tripping Knox.
Thanks,
Ian
Anyway, I used Kingo Root on my PC to root my Note 3 and it worked. Knox was not tripped and everything works properly.
