Hi guys, is it possible that there is still a way to include this function in our galaxy s4 with our kernel etc? There is a possibility in the future to include this feature? THX

I am quite positive this feature requires a specific hardware that is not present in our S4 devices, but if I'm wrong and it can be done, it will be great.
I bet the hardware is there because web have the tap to top feather in which you tap the phone and it scrolls to the top of whatever you're looking at

Sorry for not found more on such short notice, tapatalk isn't very good operable.
This kernel was my favorite , it has touch to wake (with set timeout) , also had slide to wake but lately removed
And you can also search "Siyah kernel" which has slide to wake if I remember correctly

Its on the xperia z. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=44700175&postcount=6
Hope when adam builds the new kernel we can tell him about this and if possible he will implement this.
Wait for ktoonsez to implement it in his kernel which will be released this very weekend.
It has all functions, Sweep2Wake, DoubleTap2Wake, Sweep2Sleep, etc. :good:

I actually doubt this is possible im pretty sure the xperia's have BUILT IN HARDWARE to enable this.... if its incorporated into our s4's i would assume the screen would have to never go into off mode so that it can sense our taps...and that would probably drain battery im not an expert but thats from my knowledge

actuelly the s4 has feature that you need to put your palm on the screen and then of the screen and then the screen shows you info. So that means it can be modifed so that it wakes your phone. And btw I had galaxy s2 before with custom kernel and it had a feature that you can wake the screen with a swipe

Yes but tablets don't have proximity sensors (other than 7.7,7plus ) and it seems functioning only in the test menus so I think Samsung hide It for some reason as they haven't announced it in the official specifications , by the way have you tried it yourself

Does it have a SIM card slot? If not, there's no GSM radio and therefore no dialer.

The only news about a "grip sensor" on Samsung's device was revealed on Samsung Continuum Device which was a device with a 2nd display on the bottom released in december 2010... that display, show info about weather, news etc when you press the Grip sensor without wake up the first display..
I can't find other function about this "grip sensor" ...

Just remembered to respond. Air Gesture was turned off. That said, I remember taking a few screenshots just after I got the phone & AG was definitely off. I also read a bit more about this feature. Supposedly you can hold a finger ~3" over the sensor & it'll activate. Not on my phone...

It's been my experience that I have to physically touch the screen in order for the screen wipe to take a screenshot. I've also found this feature somewhat unreliable as it sometimes moves the screen and then takes a shot of a screen that I have no interest in.

This double tap feature does not exist for our phone. Touch2wake is also only available for a few seconds after the screen goes off. Everything else would just drain the battery. According to boeffla our hardware wouldnt support the double tap to wake feature without sucking battery

Use Boeffla Config from the Playstore. You can change the delay of the Touchwake with that.
Check boeffla-kernel.de for the documentation.

But there is a function to wake up with proximity sensor. It doesn't suck battery much. So, it would be good if someone could write a code to combine proximity wake up to implement knock2wake. 1) after pick up phone from pocket, proximity sensor could power on the touch layer,
and stay active for a defined period - 10-20 seconds. Then double tap should unlock the device.
What do you think about it?

Hi all,
I got a stock T-Mobile LG G2 (802). My screen stays black when somebody's calling me. I can hear the ring tone and the led is flashing but thats it. When i manually wake up the phone I still don't see the dialer and have to pull down the Quicksetting bar (or ow to call it?) and tap 'answer call' there. No need to tell you that I lose most of my calls that way.
Can't seem to find a solution on the web. Anyone else experiences this problem?
Thanks

Yeah me too. Stock KitKat d802 20b with root + twrp + soundmod.

Please people... This should be quite easy to test.
Just make yourself a call and check for screen wakeup delay.
For me it is 2 or 3 seconds before the display is on.
On AOSP this is not present

I have done a clean install of stock kitkat (that one with modded kernel to support recovery and root), and the problems still arises. Maybe:
1) you have a different software (jb? Aosp?)
2) you dont classify as lag the 2 seconds delay
3) the hw variant may count?? (I have intl d802)
4) you lie xD
Is there anyone here who flashed kitkat on international d802 with original kdz file AND is affected from this bug?

Problem partially solved on my t-mobile 802.
The kitkat update i got on monday the 25th of march was the solution. There still is a small delay of 2 seconds before the caller id shows on the screen but thats nothing compared to the complete blackness pre-update.
Anyone else got this problem solved this way?
Off-Topic: Other improvements I noticed 'Knock on' works 4/5 times instead of 2/4. (Way) better power management and the typing is more responsive as is the phone as a whole.
