What is this? New firmware again? - Xperia Z1 General

Sony Xperia Z1 14.1.N.0.52
http://developer.sonymobile.com/dow...es/open-source-archive-for-build-14-1-n-0-52/
Can someone flash it?
Is there a chance this is KitKat? This was released yesterday

360mb only?

I will look into the zip when I get wifi at home which should be in next few hours but probably just tweaks for the people using asop or for cooking roms

They are sources for kernel devs if I am not wrong.
Its not a .ftf nor a flashable .zip

KitKat will start with 14.3.blahblah in the firmware number. This is for the L39U which is a Chinese variant.

Is 14.2.x.x for KitKat (src: DoomLord)

Yeah you both sound credible.

From the looks of it is is 4.1.2 kernel source update but downloading it to take a peek as it's the latest source code so might be able to dig around to find some useful features we may get or not idk what it will be

Considering 4.2 was 14.1.x.x.xxx, 4.3 is 14.2.x.x.xxx, it's only logical to assume 4.4 will be 14.3.x.x.xxx.

Well the people in Sony love their little updates.. That's for certain
And of course it isn't KitKat.. The build number says it all.. It's a minor update with some fixes maybe! Besides it's only 350 mb.. It can't be KitKat

You should be more clear next time. Stock does not mean AOSP.
There is no offcial AOSP available for i9505, only system dumps from Google Edition ROM which work fine, but they are not flashable through Odin.

You know Sony ROMs are not pure Android either right? I gave you the link to download stock Samsung ROMs which is exactly the same thing that is being offered on the link you just posted (but for Sony devices). If you want pure official Android you can flash the Google Editions offered here on XDA. Otherwise there is always Cyanogen.
But since your english sucks you will probably still be confused after all the things I explained just now so I will just stop answering you.

[Discusion]Android 4.4 released. Any hopes of coming to G3?

Hello friends,
Android 4.4 has been released yoday along woth nexus 5.
As per Google , they said that android 4.4 wil support lower end devices as well.
Any hopes of our G3 getting a stable version of official touchwizz kitkat or at least a CM11 version?
What's your though?
Sent from my DEATH NOTE with Shinigami by my side!
Well now google says that it is optimised for devices with 512mb of ram but g3 only has 256mb and also we would need a newer kernel such as 3.10 or at least 3.4 to get it fully working, so sadly I think that g3 won't have fully working kitkat The only person which could make it working is marcellusbe I think but now he is gone

Well you're right kitkat is running in kernel 3.8 so we need newer kernel hillbeast has left the project 3.4.x cause he was working from scratch and it was to much work but on the otherhand it is still possible if marcellusbe and hillbeast and few other devs return and continue tge project then it could be running our g3 cause jb and ics where running on our 256mb ram and they where not build to run with 512mb but kitkat is so our only hope are our devs
Edit: look at it this way I have xperia arc s it's a 2011 phone and devs made from scratch 3.0.8 kernel then updated it to 3.4 so it possible to build a newer kernel we just a few good devs but all of them have left

@hillbeast @sad96 @kyrillos13 @raja4sure
@dhiren.6d @Jason-EX
@G3MOD team
For the final try....
All you devs have done great job in getting ics and jb at least partly on our device .
With kitkat needing lesser requirements, one final effort from all could regain g3 its deserved price.
This is our best chance to revive the G3!
Please devs , one shot at this is worth a try!!

Even if it was based on 3.8 it was still as hard as 3.4 so unless the devs continue kernel 3.4 we can only dream about kitkat for our device so like @anonymous724 said we need to wait untill ajay.d96 makes a ICS rom that's better then just sitting here with GB en FROYO

KitKat doesn't need 3.4 kernel, in fact, Android versions didn't really have any 'minimum kernel version' requirement AFAIK... Well, that's actually some good news

That could be true but then kitkat will not run as good as with kernel 3.4 cause the newer kernels got better memory optimisation than the old kernel 2.6.x
Also when we use 2.6.x kernel the drivers would be old and crappy so making it compactible was allready a horrible job with ICS and JB and making it compactible with KK is going to be a nightmare getting a proper working KK will be something to dream of let's try to finish JB first don't get to hasty

It may or may not, just looking for clues, often times the newer binaries maybe more compatible, I have the LTE 4.3 ftf and the windy 4.2.2 FTF. I've been away from Tablet Z dev since I fixed GPS for 4.2/4.3 aosp roms, and I've redone my hard drive and didn't have all the files.

NEW: 14.3.A.0.757 is rolling out

New update (14.3.A.0.757) now rolling to Xperia Z1, Z Ultra and Z1 Compact; fixes KitKat sound bug issue
Sony is now rolling out the Android 4.4.2 KitKat bug-fix, just as it had promised last week. Firmware build 14.3.A.0.757 replaces the previous KitKat build (14.3.A.0.681) and fixes the sound bug issue which frustrated many. The issue related to sounds from the handset being played through the internal, rather than the external speaker.
The update is rolling out across all variants of the Xperia Z1, Xperia Z Ultra and Xperia Z1 Compact. We have included a list of regions where it has currently hit right now, however expect this to broaden over the coming days. If you’ve downloaded it, let us know if it fixes all of the issues you’ve had with the new KitKat build.

It's very easy to install. Download and unpack the archive. Install your favorite compiler (gcc, clang or something else). Compile binaries from source. Build one ftf from binaries and install it on your phone. Vualya, you have new firmware installed.
Seriously, its only source and nothing else, its not firmware.

yes, hradware&HAL drivers along customization for each phones.can be ported from previous releases, there is no huge structural differences between 4.3 and 4.4

[Discussion] Porting Lollipop form Xperia Z3 update

Hi guys,
I tried yesterday to install the Lollipop Xperia Z3 update on my Z2.
It booted and everything looked OK but the touch screen wasn't working.
I created it using PRFCreator and flash it using dual recovery.
If someone have any ideas to make it work please share it.
With my best regards

yes but my point being thay Z2 should have Lollipop fairly soon, there is absolutly no point to porting lollipop to a device thats soon to recieve it.
and porting a firmware premade for one device to another isnt easy at all
that 77 rom doesnt seem to have a Z3 base.
Agreed.
Will you be making a lollipop version of your amazing ROM when the stock update is available?
