You would trip Knox as the bootloaders aren't compatible... You can go up to Kitkat bootloader but then you can't go back to JB bootloader/rom ever again...

[Q] Unroot the N900T glitch !!!

Hi guys,
Here the scenario,
Bought a new Note3 Tmobile N900T Note3. But i couldn't wait for the dealer to provide me the unlock code. So i rooted + the region lock away provided by the elite Chainfire ... but then i decided to unroot it again so i can get the updates from Samsung so everything went fine. The only thing that was messed up is when using the Spen in the right middle if the screen that looks like it lost there with not accurate calibration. Originally it was working just fine. So the stock ROM that published online don't think is the 100% version of the stock no ?. the 4 dots that are not interact well with the Spen on the screen make me really frustrating. Any help i really appreciated ... Thanks !!!
Hi sami, (sammy ?)

[root] [SM-P605] Universal Root de la Vega

After checking various firmwares and methods I can report that
Universal Root de la Vega originally developed for the Note 3 also works on the Note 10.1.2014 SM-P605. Knox is not tripped and the status remains 0x0.
Please check

I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to rooting and Knox, what does with Knox 0x0 mean?

Does it work with the exynos version SMP 600 ?
thank you!
@VCore
how did you achieve this with the 605, my 605 has a DBT MJ2 firmware which I do not find on sammobile.

I'm not sure. In the Universal Root de la Vega thread it says that the Exynos version doesn't have the required hooks.
If we've already rooted with the first method and tripped knox, flashing the stock firmware and then rooting with De La Vega wouldn't set it back to 0x0, right?

If Knox indeed uses an efuse, the status is permanent. Maybe some developer will find a solution in the future. Time will tell.
@VCore
Thanks, you made my day, so I will have a look after work. Root without tripping the Knox fuse is in range!

I'm seriously thinking of just flashing the stock firmware and returning it, then waiting. The Best Buy employees I've come across either don't care or aren't aware of how to check tablets for root status, knox, etc. I don't think I will have a problem.
As far as I understood the thread linked by VCore, the Knox efuse is not tripped. Have a look at the thread linked in post 1 and VCore's statement about successful rooting of a 605 LTE model.

If the CSC matches, it should not trip Knox. On my 605 it worked without tripping Knox.

I guess the best way to get familiar with the windows command prompt is to watch some tutorials.
You can try to search "windows cmd" on YouTube. For details on how to use Universal Root de la Vega you should check the
Universal Root de la Vega thread.
I followed the instructions to the letter but not getting root:
I use this: URDLV csc C:\P605XXUAMJ2_P605DBTAMI3_P605XXUAMJ1_HOME.tar.md5 to generate a file of 17Mb
I then use this on csc in odin, it does it's thing and restart
I copy the files in the root of the tablet then restart
I delete the files above and restart
And nothing has happened, done twice already!
Am I missing something?
What's your knox status?

I think you have to use URDLV full because the patch is done in the system.img.

[Q] Replacing Galaxy Note 3 FTM version with XEF

I have at this moment a simlocked Galaxy Note 3 France Orange FTM version. I would like to replace the FTM rom with the XEF Rom.
- do I loose my warranty?
- Can I upload de XEF rom via KIES or do I need tu use ODIN?
- When I have flashed the ROM, do I received the updates for the XEF via OTA/KIES or does the Note 3 not recognize it as the official ROM?
In advance thanks for your help....
1/ No
2/ Odin
3/ This depends wether you are rooted or not... if not rooted, OTA should continue to work. If rooted, you should disable the updates to make sure not to receive a new bootloader
You need to retrieve the XEF firmware from sammobile for your device
Which can be directly flashed using Odin
Or you pass the new firmware through Vega method to root it and remove any new bootload.
If rooted, then Wanam Xposed can pass the status to Official.
Have a look to the "Original Android development" forum
Good luck
And although I have a simlock from Orange I would still be able to flash XEF ROM???

No link between rooting and simlock. You re phone will still be locked to orange. I dont understand how this is blocked... u get a code to un simlock but no tweak for that ... So yes you re phone with this method will have to be used with an orange sim. It's just an operating system

I tried this afternoon to replace ROM N9005XXUDMJ6_N9005FTMDMJ4_N9005XXUDMJ4_HOME.tar.md5 with ROM N9005XXUBMJ3_N9005OXXBMJ3_N9005XXUBMJ2_HOME.tar.md5 but it is getting refused.
I put my Note 3 (ORANGE France locked) in ODIN mode. Loaded the XEF ROM in ODIN (version 3.0.7). Check was OK...but the moment I hit start it shows fail on both my phone and in ODIN.
I downloaded the ROM via sammobile site.

Looks like you're trying to downgrade to an older version ROM? If that's the case then this won't work. You can flash same or newer version (e.g. MJ7) only with this method.

[Q] Suggested Setup for new Note N9005 - Upgrade, Root First, etc?

Am supposed to get my Note 3 late tomorrow. Ordered an Unlocked N9005 version. I presume it will not come with 4.4 but something earlier.
Based on my reading here I'm a bit confused. Do I need to make sure I root before I take any OTA update? Or take the update first? Anything I need to do or be careful not to do on first boot?
Thanks in advance...
You should wait to see with what firmware it will arrive first, then based on that, you'll find out if you can root it without tripping knox!
Or if you don't care about your warranty, you can update ota and after that, root it with cf-root!

Flash stock rom

hi folks,
Please can someone give me pointers on how to flash a stock rom on and S8 to remove the enterprise edition. Not keen on rooting but could consider it as an option.
Do I need to change the CSC code? Or leave it to the existing carrier? Whats the best option.
Please advise

Hi,
Changing CSC is not mandatory so it's up to you. You can flash stock ROM without changing it.
- Use Odin on PC for flashing, download the ROM on the internet and find it once downloaded by pressing AP button on Odin.
- Use Samfirm to download firmwares from Samsung (adviced).

Thanks Benjamin..
Can I get away with installing a stock rom or do I need to install the carrier rom? The carrier is vdaphone..
Depends if your device is vodafone branded or not
Thanks folks, I have been able to flash the BTU rom and it all good..
I have one issue, the enterprise knox enrollment service still comes up at startup.. I was under the impression that a stock flash return it to standard from enterprise.
Please advise
Update: I went down the root option and wiped the phone which got rid of the enterprise software. I didnt know about the e-fuse (last I rooted a phone and was able to return it to stock years ago and thought it still to be the case) now despite flashing the stock BTU firmware I have 0×1 flag which means I can't use S Health etc.
Not fussed about the warranty as it was out anyway.. can anyone recommend options I should go down?
Any pointers folks?
Find a stock based custom rom with patched s health and other apps with fake Knox 0x0, that's the only choice for you now
