[Q] Boot up problem and looping - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone.
I'm new in here (Been recommended to ask here about my problem)
I have bought a used Note 3 (4month old) in mint condition, but have these problems.
This boot fine up and showing samsung logo and animation, but the window where to type the PIN code often not coming up. the phone restart again. again. Only way to stop it is to remove the battery.
Sometimes i can see the PIN code window flashing up and dissapear. in a rare situation i can quickly enter the code and press OK. then the phone continue to main window and seems working normally.
I have sent the phone to warranty repair, but they say the phone was routed by custom software and the warranty is "broken". they can repair, but only to replace the HW and this will cost DKK 2500.-
and the seller i bought the phone is not accesible or dissapeared. only good thing is the phone is NOT stolen :good:
My hope you have good idea's to cure the booting problem on my Note 3.
Thank you for your helps
Best regards

Did you try to flash/wipe data in Recovery mode ?
You will turn the phone on by holding Power button + Home button + Volume Up at the same time.
Flash/wipe data there, so you will be back to factory settings.
Let us know if it fixed it.
There are other solutions. No need for panic.

help i9000 after flash, doing loop of at&t logo, can not enter download mode,
when plugged in screen goes black.
!! if anyone can help please do not hesitate, mostly appreciated.
Try to hold the Down+Menu+Power combination while INSERTING the battery into the device.
i try that seem to have no response and when unplugged from usb it loop at&t logo
or plugged in usb screen goes black and no response seem from pressing buttons
I had a similar problem as most phones in Canada seem to have Download/Recovery mode disabled, and here is what worked for me.
Grab something like One Click Un Root (all models), and click one click un root (obviously phone has to be on and plugged into the computer).
This should automatically reboot you into Recovery Mode!
All you have to do is "wipe data/factory default" or something like that (should be the third option).
As it states, you will loose all your data, but at least you will have a functionning phone!
did it work?
Hi. I have similar problem. Can anybody give instruction what can I do?
I have this problem too. Please help somebody
Add me to the list. Bell Galaxy S, went to unlock my phone the screen went black. Now it will not boot into the OS, the galaxy S splash screen displays then nothing. The menu and back button light up, thats all. ****[email protected]@
I have not rooted or anything.
Of course my download mode does not work.. Going to try this one click root thing if I can find it.
NOT HAPPY
This is not working. Probably because the phone is not in USB debugging mode as I can't change it... Is there any other way to get the phone into recovery mode?
**** me
i had the same thing happen to me the other day with my bell galaxy s and my phone wont do the 3 button combo trick. i left my phone plugged in to a wall charger for a while until the back of the phone became a little warm. i pulled the battery and then left the power cord plugged in and put the battery back in. i held the volume down and enter button until the battery charging indicator showed up, then i also pressed and held the power button until the boot animation started (this is the blue moving swirl and music, not the galaxy s splash scree) and then i let go of the power button. it took a few attempts at this before it actually worked, but eventually it will go into download mode at which time you can open the odin app, then plug in the usb cable and flash your phone that way. it did seem to make a difference if the back of the phone (around the camera area) was warm. if i let go of the power button while the music was playing and the phone did not enter download mode i would keep all 3 buttons pressed until it shut down again, then i would only let go of the power button while the phone initiated the charging screen, then once the battery logo was displayed i would hold the 3 buttons again and would just keep doing this until it went into download mode. i have flashed it at least 5 times today and i have been able to do this each time.
i also had an issue where odin would not recognize my phone was plugged in and windows would show a message saying the usb device was not recognized. i left the phone plugged in and while in download mode i pressed the volume up, enter button and power button until the phone went blank and when the galaxy s logo showed up i let go of the power button and the phone would go into recovery mode and then the usb drivers would be installed. i would then do the 3 button combo for download mode and odin would work fine. it took several attempts but it does work. i hope this helps you guys
If I hold all three buttons the splash screen does not come on, it just keeps looping the Galaxy S logo until I let go of the power button....

That's what mine did too, several times in a row and then it worked. For some reason it only works after the battery is charging for a bit and the back becomes warm. then it works at will
No luck. I am probably screwed getting it exchanged now too as I am passed the 14 days from Best Buy.
the on click thing doesn't work, if your phone is already bricked.
also it is not the phone's fault for not working, the phone was working properly before you tried the hacks.
whenever you do these kind of things you know you are entering into the "not supported" "not covered by warranty" zone.
in the worse case scenario, if you can no enter download mode to recover your phone, it'll be to take the phone back to bell and claim warranty on it, and prentent you don't know what happened to it.

Its my fault??
I did not hack my phone. Its not rooted, I did nothing to it.
By "unlock" I meant exactly that, unlock as in swiping the screen to unlock it.
The more I search the net the more posts I find of Galaxy S phones randomly bricking...
on the original message sounded more like you went to Unlock the phone, as in SIM unlock the phone using any of the tools available out there, and there has been already several people which had the same problem.
if you go back to Bell for an exchange, you better not use the word "unlock" rather use Swipe
as the message on the phone "swipe the screen to unlock"
there are no known issue about this causing the phone to brick.
if that is what happened to you, you should have started a new topic for people to help you, instead of hijacking the topic from the OP, as your issue is different from OP, the OP actually screwed up because he/she flashed the wrong ROM to the i9000
... anyways, Does it work if you reboot the phone?
I have rebooted the phone about 100 times. The phone crashed when I unlocked it to check a text I received. (not hacked). Has not booted up properly since. I have found many others with the same issue who have also not hacked/rooted/unlocked/ their phones.
Waiting on Best Buy to call me back. I am so pissed right now, I have been bragging to my friends and co-workers how awesome this phone is, one has already picked one up, I hope his doesn't brick too. Not recommending it to anyone anymore..
did you load a lot of MP3 to the phone?
can you boot into Recovery Mode?
in the recovery mode you can wipe the Cache and wipe the data
that should make your phone work normal again
it'll be best to open a topic to help you trouble shoot your interesting issue, as it's the first i've hear that you get a black screen after Swiping out of the lock screen
I can't get into recovery mode. I have tried every button combination I have found. I had about 2 GB of music on the phone. I also installed the Android SDK to try ADB, but since the phone is not in USB debugging mode it does not see it.

on the other topics relating to the 3 button not working.
have you tried the heating up method?
or the plugging the battery in, when all 3 buttons are pressed? (of course for this one you will need help from a friend, unless you are very skilled at keeping the 3 button on hold meanwhile able to slide in the battery in with out a 3rd hand)

[Q] Omnia 7 broken - will not boot

hi
my omina 7 of 1 month is broken.
A few weeks ago it wouldnt boot and gave the screen indicating
the phone needs to be plugged into the pc, it then booted ok.
Yesterday it gave the same message but by the time i got it home
the message was gone.
Now it will not boot, it simply cycles through the samsung logo, the three network logo , then back to the samsung logo.
Will be taking it back to the three shop tonight.
is there a way of hard resetting the phone using the buttons?
I have only found info on hard reset from within the OS, which obviously i now cannot get to.
has anyone else had this problem
The only similar problem i found was with a focus
was on the windowsphonesecrets website under the heading restoration error
to hard reset the focus press the power, volume & camera buttons all together. that might do it.
Have you tried taking the battery out of the phone? Heard from someone that that solved the problem...
yes tried taking the battery out
tried it without the sim
let the battery completely drain and tried again
the hard reset button combination didnt work either
just constantly cycling between the samsung and three network logos
three have now sent it off for repair ....
I have a very similar problem. My phone randomly rebooted itself but now it sticks on the Samsung Omnia 7 logo. I've tried removing the battery but nothing.
Is there a Safe Mode I can boot into?
Damn looks like I have the same problem. Was playing a game.Phone rebooted on its own, all I get is the Samsung Omnia 7 screen.
Tried a Hard Reset. I get the options pop up for about 2 seconds asking if I want to format. If I am quick enough to press the Home button nothing happens it just switches off.
Did you try to flash the ROM ?
Me?
No?
Download mode was the only mode that seemed to be recognised by my PC.If it wasn't in warranty I would maybe have tried that, but as it is in warranty I will let T-Mobile deal with it.
my repaired samsung was returned mid january
a few weeks later and the same thing has happened again...
phone froze, switched it off , now will not boot again
it is definitely the same hand set or at least the same outer casing
the bill said it had some parts replaced
I wonder what caused this issue?
I had similar problem and this is how I solved it:
Make sure your Device is switched off (remove and reinsert the battery)
1. Press and hold the Camera, Volume Down, and Power buttons simultaneously.
2. Release Power when the phone vibrates, but continue to hold down Camera and Volume Down.
3. Release Camera and Volume Down when the Format prompt is displayed on screen.
4. Press Windows key twice to confirm the hard reset.
Enjoy your phone now
add 1 to the list, mine is doing thin, formatting doesnt help, reflashing doesnt help.
unless i can find a fix, im without a phone for 15 days while tmob plays with it
any progress?
Since applying the update that Samsung release yesterday I'm having the same problem...
Format didn't work, installing 'older' firmwares (I8700BSEJK1, I8700XENJK1 and I8700DBTJK1) didn't solve any issue
Anybody with more ideas?
I've also had this issue... I think it was caused by forcing the nodo update. Now I've updated it normally using this guide
http://windowsteamblog.com/windows_...spx?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter
I hope now the problem is solved.

i9500 boot loop

Hello,
I had been using my i9500 for quite a while now, with no issues.
rooted, Hassan rom , Philz Kernel, worked flawlessly until yesterday.
suddenly my phone started rebooting indefinitely, not entering recovery or download modes.
I tried mashing the buttons a little, and i got to the download mode "Warning" screen (unable to go any further) without holding my power button - meaning only by holding both home and volDown keys.
anyway, this lead me to believe my power button is malfunctioning, yet i can still normally press it (Clicking as usual, as if there is no physical damage) and I did not drop or damage my phone in any way.
all of the online threads are regarding phones stuck on boot animation, yet mine is flashing the "Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9500" white over black screen (before the boot animation) and doesnt reach boot animation.
i want to believe my data is still reachable as i have not made any backups lately, this is why I came here.
if anyone has encountered any similar issue, please shed some light as this is the first time i had been unable to solve a "boot loop".
thanks in advance!
(ps, phone is still stuck on the loop, i let it keep doing so overnight to let the battery die, plugged it back in to no avail)

Great mate.
Good luck
My GT-i9500 just started this same issue less than an hour ago.
I have taken the battery out and I am hoping this will help. Since I never turn the phone off the power button doesn't get used that much. At the most it might get used once a month.
Well I am not sure if this was the reason for it working but I put the battery back in and rocked the power button back and forth. Now its booted properly. Will keep and eye on it, just a pity it would give issues a few days before Christmas. Repair centers won't be open until early Jan.

While waiting for the lab to open (sunday) i started flicking my phone a little more violently (upon the acceptable amount of strength), and now i made it boot (!!!).
the current status is the power button is not working, i am carefully navigating to titanium backup... hope i can get a Nand backup aswell, but that's just being greedy. thank god for Philz touch recovery (no power no love on recovery)
Hello mate...
I am using same I9500...i faced same problem wayback in august...phone ws starting indefinitely without even pressing power button. ..so i searched net..
No recovery mode ws accessible to me...couldn't flash....
So i went to Samsung care..

[Q] Stock LG G2 suck in bootloop? Soft bricked? Keeps crashing

FIXED after sending to LG.
Problem: Level3(L3) repair, Damaged Board components without replace any housing.
Cost: $77 which included shipping both ways.
Hello, my ATT D800 LG G2 recently went crazy (not rooted or anything other than factory, it shut down while viewing a text, wouldn't start unless a hard reset was attempted, finally turned on but would shut down minutes later and same above had to be repeated.) Phone is not water damaged or physcially damaged, touch screen works perfect and buttons all work. I was told at a local cell phone shop that the motherboard could be failing but they could not repair/replace.
Log of issues:
-Phone randomly shutdown while using it (black screen with LG logo appeared at shutdown).
-Would not turn back on normally. (black screen LG logo -> off then repeating several times before shutting down.
-Bringing up hard reset then cancelling several times finally booted phone.
-Phone crashed again within minutes and above was repeated several times until phone started.
-Recent apps were deleted, then phone shut down again shortly after
-Phone was rebooted and safe mode was entered, phone still shutdown
-Phone was factory reset (everything erased) but is still hit or miss on how long it tries to boot before crashing again
-Battery was fully charged on of the times it stayed running for a while and still shows a full battery.
-Nothing other than stock rom here, the only thing close to "adventurous" was installing/using greenify since a couple months ago
-Download mode doesn't work
-Tried factory resetting and it crashed while doing it. Eventually did restart for about 30 sec before crashing again.
-Random moments while trying to start- white/silver fuzzy screen, occasional red led blink (didn't catch how many), saying no sim card while it was installed.
Can someone point me in the right direction as how how to fix this myself or which kind of repair shop to do it? Most shops do some hardware but none seem to do the motherboard if that's the issue. I did see a thread where the battery was causing all kinds of problems, but the phone was swollen too, not mine.
Thanks in advance!!!

It might be your battery, u can go to a service center and replace the battery. It may can be your motherboard too, in this case only certified LG service center can help you. If your HDD partitions have corrupted somehow. Which means partial hard brick.
A CSE flash can help here. Steps -
1. Download the desired stock rom for ur device from here[Dont download a wrong firmware] - http://storagecow.eu/index.php?dir=Xda/LG+G2/Stock/
2. Download the latest LG driver from the attachment below, install it and reboot ur pc.
3. Download the LG Flash tool from the attachment below and extract it on ur desktop.
4. Turn off ur phone and wait for 2min. Make sure its completely turned off.
5. Hold the vol up button on ur device and plug in a usb cable to connect ur device with ur pc. Hold the vol up button until u see download mode on ur device.
6. Now run LGFlashTool2014.exe[Step 3] on ur pc as admin.
7. Now on the window select CDMA from type & click on the 'folder icon' and add the .kdz file[step 1]
8. Next click CSE flash. A new window should open. Click start.
9. Another window will open, click 'clear phone software update registry'. Then click ok at the bottom[Dont change lang or country]
10. Wait till 100% is done and ur phone boots in.
This may solve ur issue if not then go to nearest service center.
If your device doesn't boot in/stuck in bootloop after flashing do a hard reset -
1. Power off the device and ensure it is not connected to any USB cables.
2. At the same time, press and hold the following keys for 8 seconds:
-Power key
-Volume down key
3. When the LG Logo is displayed, release and then immediately re-hold the Power key.
4. When the 'FACTORY HARD RESET' screen displays, release the keys.
5. Press the Power key to reset or one of the Volume keys to cancel.
6. Press the Power key to confirm the reset. The reset will start immediately.
Thanks for the help, I did manage to get download mode to work one time, the firmware warning popped up but then the screen went black and a ton of network connections popped up. I didn't have time to finish so I turned the phone off (still doing the LG logo thing when I tried to power on and turning back off shortly after. Now it's given me the LG logo once but has become unresponsive. I suppose there's a chance the battery could be dead. I emailed LG for support, i'll see what they say. Thanks for the help!

OPT Volume UP button stuck in pressed position -> device not booting

Hello,
I have a problem with my OPT. The "Volume UP" button stuck in pressed position.
Because of the battery the phone went off but after charging it want start again.
I guess because of the pressed Volume UP + Power nothing happens.
After more than one week of fighting with the support (the issue was always escalated to the next level, remote session, bla bla bla.. but nothing happened) the problem finally was redirected to the "RRR" repair and return... and now I thing that at some point I will have a chance to send this brick back.
However, Is there a way to get my data out of it before I send the phone back?
If it would be out of warranty I would just unscrew the plastic battery cover and push the button back...
Best
dim
No Ideas?
I don't need a step by step how to.
just, is it possible? and if so, give me some buzz words (toolkits, what to check and so on)
For example If I plug it in my PC I see in the device manager QHSUSB_BULK as unknown device (good sign) but for now it refuses to install the driver from https://developer.android.com/sdk/win-usb.html
There is a sign of live.
when I let the phone rest for several hours and then press power, there is a short vibrating response and I the screen shows for less than a second the fastboot logo. Then the screen gets dark.
To repeat this I need to wait several hours.
any help appreciated
I think this is a hardware issue, send it to repair
Sent from my ONE A2005 using Tapatalk
Thanks for the answer,
and yes, it is a hardware problem. The question was more like: is there a way to start or backup/reset the phone from this state.
Like I said, the phone is recognised by the mac and PC (showing up as QHSUSB_BULK)
Theoretically with pressed Vol UP button it should start in to fastboot mode.
I managed to install the driver on the PC but the phone is not recognised by fastboot
same on mac.
So if some one has an Idea how to get to the data in this phone please help

I don't think you can back up from that stage. As it is a button related issue, I don't think OnePlus will erase any data on the device. Contact OnePlus and ask them if they can make a back up. Submit a ticket on the OnePlus support page.
