Best ROM and Kernel questions are not allowed. Also depends on which rom you would like to try, latest being KitKat. Try them out, look in the development section and original development section to know all those roms which exist, read a little about them in the very first post (also includes the flashing procedure) and try them, see for yourself which one suits your requirement.
Mod Edit
"Best" or "Recommend" ROM/kernel threads are not allowed on XDA.
Please test these things for yourself.
This is the only way you will get an unbiased opinion, and then, you can decide for yourself if it meets YOUR needs.
Don't forget to make a nandroid before you start.

Hello All, I am considering purchasing a MyTouch 3G but need full Exchange Support. Which ROM out there is my best choice? It needs to be stable for day to day use with Bluetooth and WiFi working. Any recommendations would be greatly appriciated. Otherwise, I may end up going with the Touch Pro 2. Thanks.
I use this one, it's superb

Hello All, I am considering if you even tryed to use the search there should plenty of info about this around.
Further more i wonder if you even tryed to read the sticky topic "Please dont start a new thread if something like this happens"
Q- Which ROM is best for me/ Which ROM is the best for 32A/B?
A- Take some time on the forums, look at the ROMs available for your device and individually assess what works for you by reading the various issues affecting them and make a decision. If that still doesn't work out for you, hey, that's what makes XDA great, try a different one and so on, till you find one that YOU'RE happy with. It's very subjective since what my needs are could be totally different from what yours are.
There ya go: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=555499
Edit: reported for being a noob creating an profile and posting his first question in the wrong category without even reading the rules or trying to make a search on the subject!
Wrong forum section dude, try general instead. Thread has been reported.
MOD EDIT
Moved to general forum. In future please try and post in correct forum.
HINT - For example in your case, ask yourself is your query about themes, software, games, android development etc. No its not, so post in general.
First, sorry about posting in the wrong thread. I thought a question about rom's would go in the rom's forum, guess I was wrong.
Second, I have spent time, a LOT of time, searching the forums regarding which rom to use. I was hoping to get feedback from other people that have been using them in regards to my specific requests - Exchange, WiFi and Bluetooth. Honestly, the forums get really confusing with the multiple names the devices have, the cross device porting and such. It is not a simple task to find a ROM with XYZ. Plus the forums do not always state what does work. I was just looking for some feedback before sinking a couple hundred bucks on a phone. Sorry for being a noob.
_Belial, thank you for your recommendation.

Well i guess many people using xda started to get frustrated and annoyed about how hard it can be to find what you seek. But one of the reasons for it is that things started to get messy cause of to many topics concerning the same problems/solutions.
We all been new around here once and we can all make mistakes so no hard feeling. At least we have some good moderators trying to get things in there right places
i think the question about full exchange support is a valid one.
there are many roms out there that support exchange, but they only support email, not calendar and contacts, and the change log doesn't always reflect this.
please help me to find the best rom. i tried many roms but most of the consumes battery so quickly that i have to unflash them quick.
wishlist:
1- Longest possible battery *Important*
2- must be stable... no bugs
3- Limited amount of softwares installed. i love to install my own favorite ones.
4- prefer rom built using leo 2.10 (for HTC E-Reader)
5- desirable WM 6.5.5
6- desirable HTC E-Reader (tab is optional. App will do)
all you experience guys please help... its really difficult for me to choose one and i have already nearly bricked my mobile so a little bit scared to keep flashing every rom...
Thanks in advance
you're gonna get a lot of people annoyed that you started a thread like this
it's a personal choice
i don't see why instead of going into the correct section and reading the first three lines of the available ROM's you started your own thread specifying what it is that you want
ROM DEVELOPMENT
ITS ALL THERE!
Before the thread gets locked, I'll tell you that you need to wait 2-3 days before passing judgment on battery life. It takes about 2-3 full charge/discharge cycles before the ROM 'calibrates.' The first use after ROM flash will almost always give you terrible battery life.
its a general question about choosing the best ROM. it has nothing to do with rom development. i think this is the best area to ask question... i thankfully appreciate that many people are spending enormous time on developing roms but i think i have right to choose the one that suits my needs...
but i think i have right to choose the one that suits my needs...

then stop asking which rom suits everyone elses needs and go find what works best for you, best advice i can give
and although it is the best area to ask this question, it has been asked a billion times before
true but they are all dated now
mate, in the rom development section, click on a rom, and on the first post it will say what it does
for example laurentius has good battery life
artemis is windows5.5 and very stable
cleanex and leolite have been stripped to make it faster
duttys has been tweaked for speed
they all say what they do

Why are all the threads about what is the best rom dated????
because the mods lock them. every single one of them.
why? because there is no best rom.
every rom suits someones needs. so every rom is for someone the best rom.
read all the threads and in every single rom thread you will find people saying that that rom is the best rom.
as said before a rom is personal. read the fisrt few posts and try a few. you will find yours then.
seems like leolite is going to be my rom i am downloading and hoping that it will be stable and less hungry on the battery...
thansk for quick tips guys
hi all
I've been handed a Note1 to use temporarily (I'm normally a Winphone bloke), and TBH I'm not enthralled by my first Android experience, apart from the bigger range of apps (see my first post here whilst I still thought it was a Note3 :silly: )
I know the unit is old, but I'm already having issues with space (see thread above), the unit is sluggish, and seems loaded with Samsung and Google stuff... and I know it's not the latest Android at 4.1
I really don't want to spend hours trawling through forums and testing/flashing different what appear to be hundreds of different ROMS out there (which i have previously done with all my old Winphones), as this is only going to be mine for e few months, but I do want to know if there's a well proven, lightweight, good on battery ROM that does the basics really well. I want a nice simple clean interface, no crashing, and easy connection to my Exchange, Gmail and Hotmail accounts. I'd also prefer my SMS separated out from email, and if it's based on a much later version of Android then all the better.
There doesn't appear to be poll for which is best/lightest etc. like I used to see on my old XDA forums, so sorry if this is a common question.
If there's one or two stand out ROMs that are recommended I'll go off and research installing them myself :good:
thanks
Dom

Hello everyone,
I love my old "Note 3" and I don't want it to be dusty in a box and thrown away after years like most phones, so I want to ask for your help, to bring this phone back to life.
In my situation I think the best way to use it is like "tablet" (mostly for TV and less for GPS, some light apps, email check remote control, etc.) for maximum energy efficiency (no SIM card, no games, nothing heavy and etc.) I think it's almost like my Samsung Note 8 "Max Energy saving mode".
Since I have never done anything like this before, please excuse me, thank you.
Nothing has been done on the phone, it is still with the 5.0 lollipop (most apps can't be installed or just work poorly).
Priorities in our project
1. New Android
2. Stability
3. Security
4. Maximum energy efficiency
Any help and suggestions will be helpful.
Thank you, all!
My 2 cents, lately I´ve read a lot in this forum before trying and flashing anything, and then I decided to try a few roms (and had a couple of bricks because was not easy for me, is the first time I flashed a new Rom) and now I´m using Havoc OS 3.7, never have seen my note 3 working like it is right now, It is fast, It is stable and the Havoc Rom has endlessly configurations that I never thought that I could use in my old phone
The Note 3 always was hungry if we talk about battery but maybe I´ll try a kernell update made by @jprimero15 (creator of the Rom) and see if improve this feature but I need to learn more about kernell, I don´t want more bricks!!!
If you are experience flashing things try the latests roms with Android 10 and you´ll be surprised how note 3 rebirths stronger than ever!! But try by yourself because I am only a normal user that had to read and check 6 million of posts and I saw other 6 millions youtube videos to understand just a little how this works.
May the force be with you!!
P.S. Sorry if my english is not ok
@Bacilus dantracis, thanks for this information
I will wait for more people to join the thread, because I think it's better to "hear" more people and their experience before I take any action to bring back to life my old Note 3
1 Yes roms posted .
2 Maybe need to read roms thread or stick with stable stock .
3 as in what security ??
4 as 2 read roms thread or stick with stock firmware .
note biggest user error is to fail to read especially rom instruction . second error fail to use search thread .
Note Havoc OP/ DEV may well have closed it down due to user abuse .See post 733 Havoc thread .
I´m really sorry to se the Havoc-OS thread closed because of one user was dissapointed, the Havoc-OS rom is my favourite and I tried 4 differents roms but the @jprimero15 job is astounding so it´s the rom I´m using and I will use in the furute, all the features in this rom are perfect to me, all the latests rom developed for our note 3 are very good roms and I want to say thanks to developers, but I decided to use Havoc OS.
What I can´t take is that some users don´t be polite and cannot show some respect for the developers job, one thing is ask for improvements and other thing is show no respect.
My advice like a noob user is to learn how to try Roms reading the developers threads, making the backups properly and all the things to do to avoid screw the phone and then try different roms to find what suits to each one. There´s no a "better"rom is a matter of taste of each user to adjust everyone different needs.
Respect to all developers

Hello JJEgan,
I can't stick with the stock firmawere, because as I wrote in my post some of the applications do not start or do not work properly and the use of the device becomes meaningless.
- With point three of the priorities I just wanted to say that I don't want the device to be like a "full basket of free treats" after I put the new "rom" on. I hope I managed to express myself correctly, because as I wrote in my post "Since I have never done anything like this before, please excuse me, thank you. "
- For point four, I say "maximum energy efficiency" because the note will be used 85-90% as a TV (with WiFi) and 10-15% for GPS, some light applications, remote control for checking email, etc .. It will not be used with SIMcard(calls, mobile data and etc.) synchronizations, any gestures and etc. for energy saving purpose.
I will read that "post 733 Havoc thread" tonight and I will update(edit) this post. - Nothing new in this world, toxic people are everywhere, but if he think he will stop seeing them, when he stop working on "havoc" it will be just an illusion, but he can do what he want and no one can judge him for that
So if it's not "havoc" what will be ?
Thank you for your time, I appreciate it.
If there is more suggestions I will look and discuss them with pleasure, thanks for the help, I appreciate every help.
