I have a stock G2 and did the update to KitKat yesterday morning.. I played around with the camera and can take pics of inanimate objects fine.. However, when taking photos of people, animals, etc; I get this weird pixeling or over processing by the camera app.. This is in Normal mode with all stock settings - no flash. If I turn the flash on, the pic seems normal.
I understand the update was just released - just curious if anyone else can confirm this problem on their device.

I tried just clearing camera app data - didn't really seem to help. Could you post a pic?
i took a few test pics and only one came out like that , the rest came out fine, i have no idea if it was the camera or just because that perticular person was ugly
What i did is a full factory reset before updating to kitkat and factory reset again after updating

I did a full backup, will perform the factory reset shortly. Will report back if this helped me.
So doing a factory reset didn't help. It looks like its something with the Auto White Balance - If I put it in Incandescent mode manually, the pictures don't pixelate/over process.

I did it via kies, worked after finally getting kies working which required toggling the usb data connection mode between camera and media. (Kies was just spinning saying "loading...")
Yeah I got mine Thursday morning, it prompted me to do it when I woke up about 8am I clicked ok it took about 20mins :good:
yeah I'd advise to do it via Kies mate (if you can get the bloody software to detect your phone properly - it's still buggy after all these years).
The file is absolutely huge so better to do it via kies and get some charge in at the same time.
Did it via kies, I think it made the phone cooler but prevents the motochopper root.
My interenet connection is only 5mb roughly and the file over kies is 8gb so would take forever
How come some people can get it other not ota

that might have been an earlier patch or something? Either that or maybe when you download it on kies it downloads the WHOLE firmware, as opposed just whats needed to update. Are you now running I9505XXUAMDM?

Hi.
I have not rooted or messed with my phone but when I check for an OTA it says the device was modified?? This started when the mj7 OTA downloaded and installed.
Does anyone else have this issue? Or had it and fixed it?
This has been fine out of the box and new. No mods at all and a UK device.
Thanks.

Hey
Just a quick question
Did you buy the NOTE 3 second hand off ebay or other sites?
Hi.
No this is new from EE and it did update to the latest firmware OTA.
But I may have found a fix.
I will test and advise.
It could be a Samsung bug with a large SD Card in. I have a 64gb card full of pictures and music and I have been told the more folders you have then the phone bug kicks in and says it's modified. I'm going to take out the card and test it.
I will report back ASAP.
Sent from my SM-N9005 using xda app-developers app
Well bugger me! Taking the SD card out fixed it! So the amount of folders on the card makes the phone think it's modified. I have deleted a load of empty folders from the SD and that fixed the fault. It now checks and says I'm using the latest firmware.
Crazy Samsung crazy.

Are you sure you are/were using ART with Xposed. When I selected ART with Xposed installed, it would default to Dalvik. I had to completely uninstall Xposed + Modules, to get ART to run.
ART Without Xposed

Was sure until I restored a backup that should have had it enabled which had it set on dalvic... And after reboot it does set back to dalvic... Maybe that's why I never noticed a difference... I apologize for not double checking

Anybody else getting constant reboots with this version?
Tried upgrading to N from stock and it's dropped me into a bootloop. Now looking for the OTA file to see if an adb sideload will fix the problem
No boot loops or reboot issues here

May be placebo, but my wifi suffered on preview 2, now it's back to normal like it was on MM and N preview 1.

I was f***ed yesterday, and an ADB sideload is the only thing that allowed to get Android back at all.

You need the vendor.img as well .. to be safe
Try this package .. Update.ZIP_PixelC_Ryu_NPD35K-system-vendor.zip -> to be installed via TWRP.
Have a look here .. http://forum.xda-developers.com/pixel-c/development/twrp-flashable-monthly-update-zip-pixel-t3375591
Cheers
Seems to be working fine for me at the moment, haven't really noticed anything different from dev preview 2 though.
