Unable to connect to WiFi - Droid RAZR M Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So, my girlfriend's Razr M recently stopped connecting to wifi (any wifi that I've tried). I tried resetting the router, rebooting her phone, messing with all the settings on her phone, booting her phone into safe mode, and so on with no luck. Eventually, I just did a factory reset and it started working again. Things were okay...for a couple weeks. Now it's doing it again. She uses her phone for Candy Crush, Instagram, and text messages, so she isn't messing around with anything crazy, although I did root it the day she got it (basically just for ad blocking). She has all the same apps installed as before, so I'm hoping one of them is the culprit. Any ideas?

If not rooted then probably a hardware issue.
Try a restore with rsd. See my sigi

She's on a 4.2.2 rom.

It is a kernel issue or /persist then

So, I'm still searching for a solution. I've replaced the /persist and /etc/firmware/wlan/prima folders with "clean" copies (that have seemingly worked for others) with no luck. I've changed permissions, I've altered owners, I've done everything I can find that's worked for others. Nothing has fixed it. Like I said, I did manage to get it working again a few months ago by reflashing the ROM (I think this is what did it, not the factory reset) that was on her phone, but it eventually stopped again. I've even pulled the /prima folder from the ROM zip (there isn't a /persist in it) and replaced hers with it, to no avail. I recently RSD'd the latest firmware (4.4.2, iirc), but it didn't fix it (as has been noted on the forums).
Any ideas?

You could try erasing and flashing everything manually... Which I'm not sure of the commands I think there here in post #22 but I may be wrong... I'll look into something else
Edit... I googled it but running short on time so can't thoroughly search.. Does anyone know if
modem -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p1
modemst1 -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p17
modemst2 -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p18
Is related to wifi ?if it is does that get wiped and reflashed in rsd?

Nexus 4 TWRP encryption with password - I think the phone is gone

So, I have read a lot about TWRP sometimes bugging out and randomly encrypting phones and adding a password to which the user either never set it up or that TWRP doesn't accept it. This has recently happened to me and I cannot use my phone and I don't know what to do.
I have had the bootloader of my phone unlocked since day 1 when I bought my phone (release date last year) and have been running PA ever since. I have never had any problems with it, until about 5 days ago, when I grabbed my phone and everything started crashing and the camera was apparently not available. I didn't know what was the deal with it, so I rebooted the phone and it entered a bootloop (it hangs on the Google logo for about 5 minutes and then it hangs on the PA logo screen forever). I went on to the bootloader and started TWRP to see what was the deal. I originally wanted to grab certain files off the phone in case I had to do a system format, but when I got to TWRP, it asked me for a password which I have never set up and I tried every combination I could think of but it always failed. Everything was encrypted and without the password I couldn't get to it. I tried wiping everything including a factory reset before resorting to a system format (which I read about it and apparently is meant to be the solution). Everything failed because it couldn't access the /cache, /data, nothing. I went on to do a system format and although that is meant to wipe the phone and remove encryptions, it also failed to wipe the /cache and although TWRP says that the wipe is successful, the phone is still encrypted, the password is still around and it bootloops. I have tried the system format like 50 times and always the same.
Can anyone help me out with this? I am currently travelling around but am at a hostel where there is great internet and pcs, so I can install drivers, toolkits and such. I actually started looking around for new phones, since I cannot for the life of me get the phone to start again.
Note: The phone was working perfectly fine, I put it down to have dinner and once I finished, I tried to use it and it started to bug out. I also read around about this, and everyone's issue gets fixed after a system format.
Any help, would be greatly appreciated, that phone is the only net device I have on this trip and it sucks to not have any way to contact anyone.
Thanks.

Don't blame TWRP for something it doesn't do.
Looks like your device have an EMMC failure, sorry.
You can try installing factory image, or last resort restoring by download mode, but I think the flash memory in your phone is gone.

I didn't mean to blame TWRP. It is just that it was when I am on it that I get asked for the password and I was under the impression that it was TWRP that did the encrypting (I am in no way a developer or even very knowledgeable when it comes to the under the hood stuff, I usually only follow the tutorials). But thanks for the reply and the link, I will try that and hopefully get the phone back working.
Also, I did read in a thread that apparently this can occur due to hardware failure, I was just hoping this wasn't the case.
This happened to me on an old phone. Not sure why. Factory image fixed it. Could be a different issue but its worth a shot.

Did it suddenly happen or did you change ROMs?
I tried a new rom for the first time and then went back to wicked 9.1, I'm thinking that triggered something.
I think I got a fix though, look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588377

Phone connected but no internet

Hi everyone,
i am having a SM-G900F (it is t-mobile). It is on stock lollipop LRX21T.G900FXXU1BNL9 with modem and bootloader BOB7 (which i flashed a week ago).
I have problems since the last 2-3 days, my phone is connected to a working WiFi or mobile data and everything seems alright, but it isn't, i don't have any internet access. I have to turn of WiFi or mobile data and turn it on and eventually it starts working again :S
Does anyone has an idea what the problem may cause and how should i fix it? Thanks in advance
EDIT: Also if i take out the battery of my phone and turn it on afterwards, it turns off but with a black screen, and i get a "System fc", and i have to try to turn it on a few times to get it work like it should, but if i turn off the phone without taking out the battery it turns on just fine everytime
First thing Id try is clearing CACHE from Recovery
Did you factory reset after updating to Lollipop from KK? It is needed to get rid of left over bugs / files from KK

When i bought the phone (used) it already had lollipop on it. I tried clearing cache+dalvik cache but still the same, but didn't tried a factory reset, right now i am downloading a custom rom, will wipe everything and see what happens after that.
Some strange thing that i noticed is, that the internet now won't work for any app escept for viber, on viber it works without problems
Right now i have flashed another ROM with wipe-ing everything before and i have still problems with the internet :S
i don't know what do to now :/
EDIT: Data is working, but wifi connects but no internet :/
EDIT2: I've found out what the problem is, it wasn't my phone, it was some weird virus which changed my routers DNS settings

Do I have a Corrupt EFS?

I can't figure out if I do so any help appreciated.
Everything on my Note 4 works fine except lags and crashes, only thing that has managed to fix that is the Wake Lock App but obviously it's training the battery.
The other issue I had was Private Mode not enabling which still isn't, and also WIFI was not remembering passwords so I used BuildProp Editor to change that Securestorage.support to falst from true and that fixed that.
Was getting the DM-Verity Failure issue whilst on stock unrooted so rooted it and added TWRP to fix that issue.
IMEI & Baseband etc... all showing up perfectly fine too.
Can't figure this one out.
I'm now rooted (thinking this would solve the issue) and on stock.
Any ideas appreciated.
Thanks.
Sorry for the extremely delayed reply, if you haven't already figured it out you probably do have a corrupt EFS. I've been messing with a refurbed unit I got for my wife off and on for months and finally just manually formatted /efs via twrp and rebooted. The stock rom rebuilt things no problem and the lag is gone. I know there was a problem with EFS as logcat showed a *TON* of errors from the SecureStorage package. After formatting the errors are gone. I made several backups via twrp and manually via tar just in case.

[A2017G] LineageOS 14.1 - Can not access TWRP anymore, can't get through setup either

Hey folks,
I did not find anything on this issue, seems to be rather unique. Let me describe the problem.
This is my father's Axon 7 and he wanted me to get him a different ROM on there, which I did, and it worked smoothly until today. It kept crashing, freezing and was literally unusable for unknown reasons.
So since he was going to be gone for the next few days, I had no choice but to remove the ROM and data and reflash it. HOWEVER I did not delete the internal storage since I did not think it would be necessary. Sitting in the setup, I had issues getting through it, it will not pop up the keyboard to let me type the wifi password neither does it let me pass through if I wanted to use mobile data. It simply gets stuck. Sometimes random android processes tend to crash and put me at the start of the setup and I can't get to the settings which does prevent me from enabling USB-debugging or OEM unlock.
If I try to get into the recovery (which is still on there) it will simply get stuck on the screen that says ZTE, did not work through fastboot either, same issue.
(I do personally think that some app data is corrupted and causes the issue, since I wiped everything except internal storage and I still have major issues)
So here am I, stuck. I hope someone can enlighten me, or tell me how stupid I am and point me at something completely obvious. Thanks

well, you can use EDL maybe?
The fastest way out is downloading the A2017G_FULL_EDL file from our Russian friends and use MiFlash while in EDL mode to flash the cluster**ck of a phone that you have.
The closest thing I've seen was a friend's Galaxy Grand 2 (like 5 years old) that maybe had a part of the system corrupted or a slightly dead eMMC. a bunch of stuff just crashed for no apparent reason. I reflashed the system and it got fixed for some time, then it started doing some weird sh!t again (after booting, you have an 80% chance that it will just freeze forever, hard reboot needed). But let's hope for the best and see if you can recover it by reflashing stock totally. If it still doesn't work you might be able to relock the BL and claim the warranty

Hey,
After a long day I managed to fix it, I was able to use the adb in fastboot and could reinstall the recovery and managed to run it, deleted internal storage and reinstalled everything. Seems to have done the trick. I hope it will keep working now.

XT907 bricked (probably partitions in read-only)

Good morning.
After almost 3 years with no problems with a XT907, I have again an issue with it (this time, my father's one). Again, I come to you requesting help.
It all started with all apps crashing over and over. With an old XT907 I have for emergencies, the common fix method is flashing VZW_XT907_4.4.2-KDA20.62-15.1_1FF.xml.zip with RSD Lite v6.1.5 and all solved.
I tried that method with my father unit, and when it started again, all process were still crashing. I thought it was still nothing (just a harder issue), and tried flashing VZW_XT907_4.4.2-KDA20.62-15.1_CFC_1FF_SVC.xml.zip, just deleting all his data, to fix it.
When the process ended, it turned on and it had still the same problem. In this point, I got worried the /system and /data partitions got locked
I re-started, went to stock Recovery, and wiped system and cache. Then, went to Fastboot a third time and tried again flashing VZW_XT907_4.4.2-KDA20.62-15.1_CFC_1FF_SVC.xml.zip. Guess what? Still the same problem
The phone turns on, but ALL apps keep crashing over and over. I can't even take an screenshot, as it immediately reboots.
Someone know what happened with it? And... how to fix this issue?
