Customized rom and camera - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey, if I flash a customized Google edition rom, would I lose the G2's camera options? Or the UI of the camera stays the same?

If by Google edition ROM you mean AOSP based Rom, you would loose lg's camera app & UI, however I believe the stock camera apk has been ported to AOSP ROMs over in the themes and apps section.
If you do go flashing AOSP ROMs make sure you know exactly what you're doing first, and read up on different G2 models & versions, and identify your personal G2. You don't wanna go flashing an incompatible ROM and turn your phone into a techy looking paperweight!
You may already know that, but It is important so I thought I'd mention it to be safe

[Q] CM10/AOSP/AOKP apks in stock ROM

Is it possible to install CM10/AOSP/AOKP apks in the stock TW ROM?
At the moment I'm running AOKP nightly and love the layout and features of the apps. However I miss some of the TW features (mainly gestures, battery life and IR blaster).
The apps that I mostly care about are:
1. Messaging
Found the following thread, will keep an eye on it, but as it stands MMS isn't working.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2254459
2. Contacts
3. Phone
Reason I want the above is because I hate the look of the TW interface for the above 3 apps, and much prefer the clean look of the CM10/AOSP/AOKP versions.
Thanks!
buddy, Aosp/Aokp/Cm10 rom has made using Aosp pure Rom. so if u install any application and it installed normally then only it can work else any Mod can change that using compiling the application.

I'm not sure what you mean.
Maybe I wasn't clear in my first post.
Is it possible to port the apk's mentioned above to Stock TouchWiz firmware.
Messaging has been completed, now all I need is contacts.apk and phone.apk to work.
I'm already running AOKP (and love it), but miss some of the stock features (mainly gestures and IR blaster).
So if I could get a combination of stock rom and certain AOKP apk's then I'd be happy!

[Q] Customization with DEodexed ROMS

I have read a bit on the topic of ROMs, but I have never rooted or installed a custom ROM until now. Sorry if this seems like a stupid question, I am just trying to figure out the whole odexed/deodexed deal.
From what I've gathered, deodexed ROMs were originally used to be able to edit things such as status bar colors (clock, notification icons, etc) and even the icons themselves. They boot 'slower' but after the initial boot it is not that recognizable as newer hardware more than compensates for this issue. (I have a Galaxy S5 G900P)
So I have flashed a deodexed ROM onto my phone (R.D.D.T.). Now, this ROM also has an odexed version as well. I assumed that having the deodexed version would allow me to edit icons, colors, etc. However, I'm not quite sure how I can do it.
I have seen and read about people installing custom, deodexed ROMs onto their phones, and many of them (Alliance, X-Note) will come with either an app pre-installed on the ROM, or a ROM-specific menu in Settings. This menu lets them customize things in the way I would like to be able to. The problem is that, at this time, the G900P (Sprint) version of the Galaxy S5 is not supported by either of those ROMs, or many other popular ROMs for that matter. R.D.D.T. (and R.O.D.T as well as the Mystery Build) was one of the only ROMs I could find that explicitly supports the G900P. I like the concept of this ROM, as it seems like a good, no BS bloat-less ROM that is otherwise very close to stock Android. But, I do not believe it came with any ROM-specific way of editing colors, themes, icons, etc. So my question is a few parts I guess:
-Is there still a way (downloadable app, editing files, etc) for me to be able to edit colors on the S5 with this ROM?
-In a situation like this, what is the benefit of having a deodexed ROM installed?
-Are there other ROMs similar to R.D.D.T. that currently support the G900P S5 which additionally offer customization?
-What is it with the Galaxy S5 that is causing so many ROMs to not officially support it?
Sorry for the long post, but my primary aim here is to learn everything that I can about this.

[Q] Can I make the S5 look like stock android without AOSP rom?

I don't own an S5 yet so I can't test out the current theme options but I'm hoping somebody can answer my question. I prefer the look of stock android over TW. As AOSP roms are fully working yet, is there a way to make the S5 look like stock android?
I know I can use a different launcher, many of which probably have a stock android theme. But.. do these themes change everything to look like stock android, such as the settings app, pop up windows etc? I looked in the Alliance Rom thread which has many theme options but I couldn't see a stock kitkat style theme.

Best ROM to use on MXP

I am just wondering how many people like the actual STOCK rom and cyanogen based ROM
So I am making a poll to see which one get's more vote
P.S this is not related to someone's specific ROM..
As we all know, some people like to keep STOCK as it is and some like modifications and customizations.
Stock means pure stock experience with root (OBviously) and Some like CyanogenMod ROM or based on it.
This is a poll to know what most users like.
Stock in this case means a very stable bug-free ROM with some nice features, like Moto Display. The little bloatware is gone after root. And you cans still get the customizations you want through custom kernels, Layers and/or Xposed !

How do really stock rom differs from custom roms

If we want to run a rom he can't (directly) we have to wait untill someone made it specifically for us. Thats fine i got it very device have its own kernel and rom integration. But if a person is using the same exact tree as official one do then why it is difficult to run stock apps directly w/o proting them.
Is it because of some legacy or copyright problem. One can build a rom on its own w/o having a team(like los, rr, paranoid).
Why porting is necessary? I would like to know that too

Cause you dont have updates
I am not a code/programme guy,
But what i have learned is, these different ROMs (Stock, AOSP based, Lineage based) have 0 (zero) interchangeability to their stock apps (except common apps). These may be because they use different codes?
For example, lineageSU addon will work only on lineagebased ROMs. Moto apps will work only on stock.
This looks like this apps are coded in way that it run only for specific ROM/device,
If you want such apps you need to modify it..
About ROM,
There are 4 sources/trees, 1)vendor 2) device 3)ROM 4)kernel.
Vendor, kernel, device tree can be used same for any ROM,
but ROM source is different for each ROM, which defines what is base of that ROM. You cannot build stock based ROM, you can only debloat, deodex, and modify stock ROM...
So, on different ROM, you need to modify apps to run...
@DgnrtnX I recommend to read that article about blob's so you get a better understanding why there's so much effort needed to "port" apps for example: https://www.xda-developers.com/came...opers-make-hardware-work-without-source-code/
