has anyone been able to gain root on this rom? it doesnt seem to root for me. ive tried superuser.zip, multitool v6, cf auto root..nothing seems to stick. and i have experience rooting other 4.3 roms so im wondering if something changed in this rom that breaks root. i know this rom has the most recent change list.
root works fine for me. anyone notice any battery improvement? mine is still horrible...doesn't seem like they've fixed the crazy battery drain that was introduced with the 4.3 update

i re-cooked the rom and was able to root using multitool v6. and yes my battery still drains quick as well..but i also cooked in the note3 files and i know that will increase battery drain. i havent used the rom completely stock yet.
thx pro
can you send individual CSC ???
Does this version of the ROM have Arabic T9 enabled in the dialer?

Hi,
I never heard about that....
It's a I9300 ROM, so must works normal...
[]'s
Chinese firmware are specially encoded or whatever don;t know ....which makes it not possible to flash...happened with S2 ... never tried with S3 though.
What's the point with a new thread?
We have the official firmware thread already..
Lag is fixed
I flashed it and all works fine...
power button lag is gone and this indeed looks like a final release but lot of bloarware and issues with play store ... missing google now, play service ... and all!

Odin or Mobile Odin?
Odin doesn't work, some error when trying to flash the bootloader.
Thread closed. Please guys, I've said this quite a lot recently... if a new firmware drops, do not create a new thread about it. There is no point and it just increases the amount of junk for users to sort through in the general forum.
Please just post in one of the already existing firmware threads.
Good day guys! I'm new here at XDA, and with all this csc, rooting and flashing of roms thing and I just wanted to ask something about it.
I recently bought my friend's note 3 which originally had the Malaysian Rom (XME).. but before he sold the phone to me, he told me that he had updated/flashed the Singaporean Rom (MM1) on the phone.. I just wanted to ask, is it still possible to go back to the original XME Rom even though he had already flashed a newer MM1 Rom?? Would the phone still work as it should be with no problems/issues?? I hope someone could help me on this.. Many thanks guys!

You can try but if it starts looping reflashing the Singaporean rom should fix it.
Boot-looping just means it has a newer bootloader in this case. If possible I would suggest to make a backup of your EFS folder.

Thanks for the info mate! I'm now actually tempted to try what you have just said, but i worry about the backing up and restoring of EFS part.. It sounds hard and complicated. I think I'll just wait for an updated Malaysian Rom (XME) and then flash that one.. just to be on the safe side.. Cheers!
May i ask what happens if you try to downgrade to an old firmware?
You'll bootloop because the bootloader won't be able to boot it.

if your phone has been rooted AND if your friend had flashed the Singaporean Rom by using Mobile Odin Pro, you can fallback to the older firmware. Because the old bootloader was preserved by Mobile Odin Pro.
So ask your friend which tool he had used to flash the firmware.
BTW, why do you want to fallback to the older firmware? May be you notice some differences between XME and MM1 roms?

Hi..he said he never rooted the phone, he just flashed the MM1 rom because he wanted a newer rom on the phone. To be honest, I don't really know why I want to go back to the XME rom.. maybe because that was the original rom that the phone came with and I want the phone to be in it's original state again?
Plus.. when I connect to Kies, it says something about my phone not being supported for firmware updates.. and my csc is still XME and not MM1 which is the Singaporean Rom. I guess I just want my phone to go back to XME so that I can use firmware update on Kies..
Ok so you need to wait until XME has at least ML2 version and flash. No other choice.
IMO, from the point of usage, there is no major difference between XME and MM1 release. Btw, MM1 always has the newest firmware than XME.

MK/ML can downgrade to MJ7 - for whatever reason Samsung allowed it, assume it is because they closed whatever security loop and have deemed MJ7 the safest bootloader to fall back to.

the battery drain on mk2 btu is horrible, and im guessin 02 wouldnt release firmware without testing it properly
By the way, I was able to flash XSI Mj7 over SER MK2. I did it by wiping system partition in TWRP, after which flashing went through with no issue

Yeah I was able to do it.. no wipe, no factory reset.. I just flashed it with odin, and all my files/settings are still there! Some people commented here that it was not possible but for some reason it worked.. Yeah, I actually bit the bullet and just flashed it. My real concern was that it had the initial 442 release issues, but Ive been running it alittle while as I set it up and it seems nice and smooth, but being from UK I also flashed the XXUFNB9 UK Modem as well and all seems fine.
Your right friend, There are no differences apart from it seeming a little smoother, a few Icon changes and updated apps and some God awful bloatware crap that you can thankfully uninstall without being rooted.
Ill report back in a few days on Battery life and reception once modem settles.
cheers
Feels smooth yes, except messaging and hangouts, which stutter a lot on opening/using/closing.
Does this rom contain the BTU csc like the previous one?
Downloaded and flashed last night, all in all i cannot see any visible difference versus GNE8 (last official build), but using it, it does seems a tad quicker, but the main difference is my battery life is way better.
I always wipe data/cache an cycle the battery but all the latest builds over the last few months have been worse on battery life (though others do not have this issue), but for me since taking off charge this morning, 5hrs later only a 7% drop, versus 20% before.
Are you guys updating using Odin or OTA? It still hasn't hit OTA as far as I can see?

Disable whatever crap you have sitting in your notification bar. It'll fix this bug.
Does it matter if the firmware is "Nordic" if you're not in that geography? I'm in the UK using an Australian P605 and I'll be waiting another year for Telstra to update to Kitkat so I'm hoping to use a generic one for the UK. I'm not using Vodaphone or any carrier at the moment so I don't need a carrier-specific firmware anyway.
You can flash Nordic ROM for sure.

Nope, not at all- in fact, the only things different are the installed apps and things like APN settings. I've been running non-US firmware on both my OG and 2014 Note 10.1s since I'd first gotten 'em.

Yeah, what can I disable if I just installed the stock firmware? Except the brightness/volume sliders (which doesn't fix the issue).

Non-starter, esp. since the "crap" in the notification bar is usually on behalf of what I've got the ChromeCast doing at the time (Hulu+/HBO Go/VUDU/etc.).
Samsung has screwed this up, and one can only hope they've got plans to fix it. I've seen it suggested that the sound notification bar is what does it.
Does it support multiuser? Thx.
