I'm using a gs4 on the nightly ROMs. Few issues I've noticed. I can't get the IR to work. It freezes what ever app tries to send it a command. After the most recent Feb 22-23 update my phone has been running hot and draining battery like crazy. Has anyone else experienced this or found solutions? Other then that its great.

a friend of mine is having the same problem.
Update
I flashed the 2-24-14 Nightly last night, and that cleared up my recent issues, with the phone running hot, battery draining fast, and the camera not working. I also switched my Runtime from Dalvik to ART, I noticed an immediate difference, the phone seems much more snappier now. However still don't have a working IR emitter.
the latest nightly has battery issues too. It doesn't seem that this developer is very active in the XDA forums. Guess i will stop running omnirom.

Of the three jflte maintainers, one sold his device, one is MIA, and one was travelling for a few weeks.
jflte is probably one of the device families in worst shape right now.
Although it could be worse. Galaxy Superior (i9260) was brought up by someone, they got it merged in, and disappeared not long afterwards. If it hasn't been pulled from nightlies yet it will be soon.

I know there are lots of threads about problems with the Atrix including rebooting. What I haven't seen is any consensus on what to do about it. Mine reboots randomly 2 or 3 times a day. Sometimes when I'm on a call or using maps or just sitting idle.
Its happened on and off through all software versions. I'm currently running latest OTA (rooted) but otherwise stock. Is it a software bug to be fixed? Is it bad hardware? Should I seek replacement?
I love my Atrix and am really looking forward to Gingerbread next month. Is it too much to hope that this next update will solve the rebooting issue?

What launcher are you using? I ask because Now that I've swapped from LP+ to ADW EX I rarely get a "reboot" anymore. On the other threads you may have read that its possible you are experiencing a graphical shell crash and not a reboot.
I'm currently using apb 3d shell. But also occurred with LP. When the reboot happens, it goes all the way dark and proceeds through the whole boot animation. Seems like a reboot to me.

yeah mine randomly reboots too... its happened more lately -- but still only once a week maybe..
It happened once when I had GPS on -- my only guess is there has to be something with incoming/outgoing data where the phone resets itself to clear something out? i dont know jack sh1t about smartphones, but I do know that the times Ive caught it rebooting I noticed the phone being very sluggish and data trickling in even though I'm in a good service area.
wait for the GB update, it is supposed to fix the issue according to the reports. I personally have not had a single reboot using ADW EX.
I had the random reboot issue when I first got my phone in March. The beginning of April I reflashed stock sbf updated to latest version then got gingerblur (currently running gingerblur 4) haven't had a random reboot since I started using gingerblur maybe try that? I don't know that's what fixed it for me I just know it never random reboots since I did this. My two cents take it or leave it
After I upgraded to 4.2.2, Bluetooth share is on the top of battery usage... (I have never seen that one before..)
According to BBS, it's a process called StartingObexPbapTransaction that is the sinner..
Has anyone else noticed this? Another thing, I have changed my BT headset around the same time, so not 100% sure it is the update to 4.2.2 or my new headset that is causing this...
Regards,
BTJ
Yes - same issue. Bluetooth seems to never disconnect from the device - even when it's not in range or powered down. It's not consistent either - sometimes it works fine, other times it gets 'stuck'.
You can toggle bluetooth on/off on the phone and it will stop the drain - but I only tend to notice there's a problem when my battery is draining way too fast - and by then it's too late.
Same issue here, started with 4.2.2.

Not just me then ...
I'm having the same issue...
anyone find a fix yet?
Is this limited to certain users? If not, I'm surprised it's not a bigger issue and hasn't been addressed.
BTW, I'm experiencing the same issue and have to remember to turn off my BT when I leave the car.
Having a similar issue running MMuzzy's 4.2.2 ROM on a toro GNex, and it appears there's a bug filed against it on the Google Code site: # 41110
Please star the issue so that it gets some attention...(I'm restricted from posting outside links, so someone please post a direct link)

Just chiming in to say I'm experiencing the same problem. I don't seem to recall it happening when I first upgraded to 4.2.2 but rather it seems to have cropped up in the last couple days only.

Same thing on 5.1.1 stock. Battery drain using by.
Must be a radio thing, right?
I've heard the device will do things like restart randomly, and have some other misc issues - is that fixed with later releases of it or is it still an issue?
I never got any og those problems with my N10, maybe others do i dont know. Mine runs very well and the best tablet i have used

My N10 suffers from random reboots and memory leaks every couple days. But after flashing a 4.3 rom those problems almost dissapear with the updated Mali drivers from Samsung
So right now its a no issue, at least for me
Had screen flicker, but went away with the kit kat update (fingers still crossed).
Only had one reboot and that was on 4.3.

I've been using mine for almost over a week. It came with 4.2.x and asked for update to 4.3 right after unpacking. Never had a single problem for a week with 4.3 and now using 4.4 which i manually updated. Still had no problems.
No problems here too..
The reason that you maybe find much 'complains' is because people with a problem are searching for a fix. But hou never hear a word from people without problems.. Well until now
I really love this tablet. Fast and oh te screen.

- screen flickering
- random reboots after heavy apps (like reading big sized PDF in acrobat)
After 4.4 I haven't seen those issues yet.

I've not had too many issues with my N10. I've mostly been running CM10.2 on it, but I've put KitKat on it now and it's purring like a happy cat.
Solid with 4.4 so far.
4.3 eliminated a number of the screen issues with the updated Mali drivers. Looks like they were updated further under 4.4 as the Google site shows new binaries for 4.4.
I'm running stock 4.4 and have 0 issues. Didn't with 4.3 either. Can't say for anything earlier, I'm newer to the device.
Still running 4.3 here, but mine reboots randomly a couple of times a week.
Waiting to see what 4.4 will do.

I had massive problems before, but it works like a charm since 4.4!
Gesendet von meinem Nexus 10 mit Tapatalk 4
4.4 seems so far (over two days uptime with Chrome installed!) to have fixed the massive memory leaks on this device.. 4.3 never seemed to release memory correctly and SystemUI would bloat to 200MB and completely implode on itself. Now it seems memory is releasing fine, and SystemUI is fluctuating in memory usage like it should be now..
I was given an N10 for my bday back on Sept 30 and its gotten almost daily use. I can say with full confidence that I have experienced ZERO problems. No memory leaks (if its going on I cant tell...the performance is snappy as hell!) no light bleed and definitely no random reboots. I have thrown the most hardware intensive games at it and they all work better than I had hoped for. It does exactly what I want it to do when I want it to do it.
I've had it for about half a year and used daily and I've had one or two reboots during that time, quite long ago now, otherwise it's been perfectly smooth and had no issues.
The photo editor crashes while editing large images (probably runs out of memory), haven't tried it on 4.4. But that's really not a issue as I normally use Photoshop on my pc anyway.
So far I never had any other issues at all, no random reboots or anything else. 4.3 was running smoothly as is 4.4 which I have now. The only modifications I have made are rooting it so I can use certain apps, and I didn't even have to reroot after the 4.4 ota.
tldr: mine works like a charm.
Sent from my Nexus 10 using xda app-developers app
Mine suffers extremely bad with memory leaks and random reboots when I have Location Services on. If I turn Location off, it doesn't reboot but after 30 hours or so, it slows to a complete crawl and redraws the launcher every 2 seconds thus making me have to manually reboot it. It's usable and I still use it every day, but I'm definitely not ecstatic with it and I'll likely replace it as soon as another tablet running stock Android and with a beautiful screen comes along. Hopefully I'm not waiting too long.
I get a reboot on average every 3 days. Usually while in the browser.. Screen will just flash white and reboots.. Never slows down before had.. No sign of trouble either..
Sent from my Nexus 10
I haven't had any reboots from the browser yet, but I did get a hard freeze while using the HBO app yesterday. That's actually new, never saw it before the update so hopefully it's just a one time thing.

I'm having problems with any rom later than 4.2. The 4.3 roms cause random reboots, and 4.4 will not install.... Something about some E: error.
I've gotten into the habit of wiping for factory reset before every flash.....so I have no idea why the problem with flashing the 4.4 roms. :silly:
Hi,
I have Samsung Galaxy SIII i9300 with omni-4.4.4-20140730-i9300 NIGHTLY build:
When i switch off the screen after started google camera (or other camera app), the camera is hang.
In next camera launch, i get this message: Can't connect the Camera.
After reboot, the camera works again.
I noticed this bug in older 4.4.2 versions
Please help me.
i have same problem with i9300 too
camera app hangs everytime
my solution is waiting for new nightly rom and then camera will working again
but it will HANG again it is a loop LOL
ps.sorry for my noob English
ps2.can anyone tell me a solution (cry)
The same stills hapen to me...
It's unlikely to get fixed. Pretty much all Exynos4 devices except for N80xx are getting dropped due to lack of maintainers.
I9300 in particular has had no maintainer for 6+ months. Honestly we should have stopped nightlies for it ages ago.
same for 9305
i have that issue with every nightly. how come noone can fix that? i mean. what's the deal of having a nightly if u have no maintainers?!
are all nightlys automaticly created ?
please solve that problem. its really annoying. cant be such a big deal or?

Good question, that's why we should've shut them off months ago. We were just hoping someone else would step up.
And yes, they are automatically created.
Omnirom5 ?
Are they now working on Omnirom 5?
Or are there no supporters left for the i9305...
btw. my cam is somehow stable since a looong time. i got the version 2014 12 28 nightly.
another question: i still cant record on the frontcam 720p. i have the nexus camereanext app. the best ever!
i really dunno how you can work with other camera apps. all to slow, to set.
Hi all,
as stated in the past days by oneplus, a new touch firmware has been released and will be in cluded in 5/15 cm12.1 nightly. this should (i hope so) resolve all the remaining touch issues that affects many opo
Here is the coomit: http://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/c/98287/
05/18: The touch firmware has been reverted to the old one because of battery drain caused by dt2w
sub.
Looks like working very good. Flashing Nightly and screen is more responsible ever sinde the failure occured. waitung für Lord Boefla or slimkat to include it

Yes, working fine for me.....
The question now is.... will be forever?
multi touch on mine phone on x axis is still jerking from time to time
sometimes it works normally, detects 2 fingers, then on the other hand detects one or none
will see how it will perform through the day, but since i made a clean flash, i doubt that it will be better...
I have the grounding issue with my ONE. No problems with higher temperatures though.
I flashes Franco Kernel r43 boot.img on my stock cm12s. Fo rme the issues are gone.
x-axis touching is working good. Swiping texts is finally possible again!
Thanks to synaptics!!
I will probably switch to cm12.1 nightlies again when I have some spare time left.
Any way this could be a flashable zip for all ROMs or is this something that is baked into the ROM/Kernel?

You can flash Franco's kernel below if you are on CM12s/CM12 (5.0.2). Or the alternative is to flash the 5/15 nightly (5.1) or wait for it to be rolled out OTA.

Nice! Thanks for the link. Flashing now.
I had only mild touchscreen issues so I'll see if it gets rid of them.
I've never had touch issues thus far, but I am a bit disappointed at the fix. Although I do notice a better touch response, the fix isn't a fix and is a workaround. PPPreferences has a huge battery drain (com.qualcomm.display) which basically, like I've seen written somewhere, means they're just keeping an app open to recalibrate the screen constantly.

Not for me. Nothing changed in terms of battery usage with today's nightly. Also it isn't even listed under Apps in the battery screen on my device.
This app is only used for post processing (Live Display) and has nothing to do with the new firmware.
I was suffering from pretty bad heat related issues, all gone now.
I just flashed Boeffla-Kernel for CM11s. I can definitely tell a difference. There was one app that I could make it jump when swiping up or down and holding it toward the bottom-middle of the screen, no longer have that issue. I also constantly had trouble with it "clicking" things when all I wanted to do was scroll up or down on something. Have not had that issue since flashing.

Hmm that's pretty interesting then, but I don't seem to be the only one reporting a difference in the CPU time of something which includes the Qualcomm services. We'll see with more usage though.

Yes, until it gets pushed officially, as you need to either flash a custom kernel or the latest nightly.
