Nvidia tegra note 7 quick review - Nvidia Tegra Note 7

Figured I would write a quick review of this awesome tablet since I have seen many questions on XDA but no review.
Build quality: build quality as a whole is brilliant, it only creaks if you apply a lot of pressure to the device, and if you I like to squeeze your devices then you may have personal issues , this tablet is not for someone who likes beautiful pretty tablets, the design is for someone who likes build quality that screams power and has a very aggressive design.
Display: the display is not the best we all seem to have realised that, but its good enough and there is much worse out their. The colours seem washed out a lot but one positive (with mine anyway) is the white colour, its REALLY pure white, no yellowish hue or blue.
Camera: both are not good, front is unusable and back is OK but lacks detail. ALOT. Still can't find where the slow motion feature is.
Performance wise: this tablet is blazing fast, its the fastest tablet I have owned hands down, and I have has the nexus 7 2013 and Toshiba excite pro which also had a tegra 4 processor. Lag is non existent and apps open up faster than my galaxy S4.
benchmarks:
Geekbench multi core: 2503
Antutu: 35090
Stylus: I have had every single galaxy note device and the stylus on the tegra note is much more accurate and responsive, with the galaxy note the on screen cursor always lagged a couple millimetres behind the pen, but this tegra note is much more accurate, would of looked much better though if screen was Full HD.
Battery: battery life has been OK, I am currently on KitKat and I get the same screen on time as I do in heavy usage as I do on my S4, which is between 5 - 6 hours. Its enough for me but may not be for some. I always use it on the balance settings with low brightness, sync off and WiFi always on.
Software: KitKat update has been OK for me, I don't have a SD card inside so don't experience the issues with the SD writing. Its stock android and is buttery smooth.
My rating: 9\10
I love this tablet after all, probably would give it a 7.5 if it wasn't so cheap (got mine for £140)
Any sensible questions are welcome. Will be doing a video review on my YouTube channel soon.

Nice review, I was torn between the Nexus 7 2013 and the Note and eventually went with the note and can't say I'm disappointed as yet. Little miffed at the moment with the SD card issue since the KitKat upgrade but hopefully will be sorted shortly.

The screen sounds worrisome how bad is bad???
We all have different definitions of screens my Galaxy Note 3 is seriously annoying I prefer the neutral Asus Memo Pad HD 7 is it neutral at least or does it look like 08-09 tech??? From the vids I've seen it seems fine but I know it's different in person.

At 213 DPI, is somewhere just above the acceptable line, dead trigger 2 on high graphics and full brightness looks amazing, but kills the battery in under 2hours. So far from the best, but equally far from the worst possible, screen is fairly mediocre, but the extra power of the Tegra chip makes up for that with increased graphic fidelity.

Good info I'd check for something running in the background both of my devices get 8 to 9 hours either that's a typo or something is seriously wrong or maybe it's the cpu/gpu. Sounds a bit fishy to me.

guys please check out my video review of the tegra note 7.
sorry my editing skills are hit and miss.

It was decent but overall a bore you were drone like the ceiling lamp/fan was bad and even worse it become apparent you recorded a voice over once the camera showed your face in the tablet reflection which showed still lips but a voice coming out. Starting with a demonstration is great only a few can relay specs and have their viewers not fast forward what they already know. Overall as I said it was decent.

I'm fine with the way I gave/give advice except I missed a sum up just in case you didn't understand a/the paragraph.
-Drone like voice
-You tilted the device wrongly catching bad reflection
-Overall a bore but it was decent the bore comes from your voice and "default" spec talk
I said nothing about your equipment next time there won't be a next time the video was a snooze. As far as being a professional if it's a goal work at it there are a couple points already equipment is fine, your voice, constantly moving the tablet around, makes it a bit boring. Trusting equipment to catch you won't work I'd suggest you get the basics first. As far as nice I'm some where in the middle don't read to much into it either the effort is good or bad but with work you can become better.
Good luck.

The voice was due to my poor knowledge with how to put the voice OVER the video itself and a bad mic, yes I did tilt it and got bad reflection I agree, and yes my voice was like a "drone" as you say. And it was pretty dull I must admit.
All your points I mostly agree with. And thank you for your honesty, but there are ways to be more positive with giving advice that's all I am saying.
Maybe I am just a British stereotype who get's offended easily, if that's the case I do apologise!

Thanks for the review and also to Android insanity for posting up the helpful video, I have just sold my galaxy note 8" tablet and was either going to spend the money on a ps vita or this note 7.
A question, when you install games does it automatically default to highest quality graphics or do you have to tweak things to get them.

Yes, games automatically get set to highest graphics quality. I have played Riptide GP 2, Asphalt 8, Smash Hit, Real Boxing ( price dropped by 77%, I will buy it now!!!!! ) and all automatically get set to max graphics. Other games like Real Racing 3 automatically download the optimized data files for tegra 4.
There is also option in development section in setting to force 4X MSAA Anti-aliasing to all applications.
... ...
( I would prefer to buy Note 7, it is new and has amazing stylus PLUS superb battery performance when playing HD movies over wifi - around 9 hrs. )

OMG i love this tablet!

This was a very hard decision for me to return my beloved tf700 as im loving the super high resolution on this unit and the all metal case but i still pulled the trigger and replace it with the note 10.1 . After readiing some negative review on this tablet im still optimistic that this tablet will exceed my expection and it did surpass my expectation on this tablet . I love this tablet, this is the only tablet that is almost as easy to browse as the ipad 3 in terms of smoothness almost lag free on the native browser , the pen is very usefull for sketching , the case even though its made of plastic it doesnt feel cheap at all .
The micro sd card is fast compared to the tf700
I love the speaker placement and you really hear the stereo separation.
The design is lovely specially in white.
Although the lcd has a lower resolution it still very bright with very good color saturation , never at all miss my tf700 higher dpi .
Build quality is very good , fit and finish is perfect.
No light bleed .
No slowdown even with multiple apps running on the background made possible by the built in 2gb system memory.
This in my opinion the only tablet that can really compete with the ipad . Overall im a very happy camper...
I'm really impressed with this tablet also. The display is actually very good. Wish I could find documentation on what each of those 3 different dpslay modes does. I can see the changes but want to see how exactly display is changed. I think dynamic mode gives best look so far.
Although plastic, it feels high end. Far from feeling cheap. Very well put together. I love the stereo speakers. I think no other tablet can compare, soundwise. Amazing sound. Especially if you use volume+ to increase overall volume & quality.
Everything moves very fluid. Virtually no lag.
If anyone finds the official PDF manual for wifi version, please post it up. I want to master this s pen feature. I know the manual will details things we don't know tablet could even do.
Yea I returned TF700 and decided to buy this one after searching for a new tablet.
It is so much better than TF700 in almost every way, with the only obvious exception being the screen. The screen is great except for lower pixel density which is especially visible when web browsing. But for me, Note 10.1 is a very easy win over TF700.
Agreed! The Infinity definitely felt more solidly built and the screen wins by a landslide but that's where the competition ends. The Note wins in every other way that I can see.
This thing flies and all the basic functionality (like WiFi and GPS) that didn't work on my Prime and barely worked on my Infinity works like an absolute charm on the Note.
Those of you concerned about the pixelation in the stock browser check out Maxthon Browser for Tablets. The text looks much better and believe it or not I think it may actually be faster.
I returned the tf700 also for this. This tablet is light years better than the prime and infinity performance wise. Those dudes in the tf700 forum are delusional thinking it out performs this.

Who ever said it "DIDNT" have one? Meaning the metalback. That didn't stop me from having a good working unit though. That's where people get confused. No device is perfect. Just like now I'm seeing a screen light bleed thread in here and some other ones. No device is free from manufacturing flaws. Nothing man made is 100% perfect.
IM HIGH ON TECHNOLOGY my experience with Asus was a great one. So great I got me a Nexus7. Which is flawless and one of the best tabs out now. So it doesn't really matter if I liked Prime or not. This is Galaxy Note 10.1 forum. This is my new device. If I like it, which I do so far, ill keep it. If not, ill get my money back or just exchange for infinity pad. This device in testing phase for me. Simple as that.

I am also impressed with the note 10.1 I have been thru a few tabs . Archos, xoom, than TFR 101, got so frustrated with the probes with android bugs on th TFR I jumped ship and bought an iPad 2. I needed to judge for myself . At first I enjoyed the iPad alot. It was smooth and reliable. Rooted it and like it evenmore. Looking back i see i was always searching for ways to do tasks on the ipad2 that are easier and standard on android. I use my tablets alot for work and believe it or not it the ipad2 fit in well there. I was waiting for the note to come out and when it did i knew i needed it. First i hesitated with some of ther reviews. But than said i need to judge for myself. And I am glad i did bc those reviews are so wrong. This thing is amazing. Playing with it side by side with my ipad2 the display in my opinion is just as good and just as smooth. I hope there is not a huge delay in geeting jelly bean but even without it this is great. The pen feature blows everything else away. I was considering an adonit touch or jaja on the ipad but this is so much better.
I just dont understand some of those reviews.
In the end i am glad i got this and am happy with all of its features. Anyone want to buy an ipad2.
The note 10.1 and gs3 were the 2 devices that won my wife over. Had to stop working to pick hers up on release day. Coming from ipad3 she is wondering what took her so long to switch. All the extra functionality is blowing her.
Only thing is screen resolution. But its not a deal breaker.

Oh I understand the perfect thing statement but the Prime was so far from perfect it was ridiculous.
Come on at least most devices can pick up WiFi and GPS, that's basic and the prime had difficulty doing that. I hardly call that debacle a manufacturing flaw it was flat out a design one.
Anyway good luck with the note. I've no light bleed whatsoever.

I was being snarky but I know that. He said multiple times in the Prime forums that he wanted to trade his prime or exchange it to gamestop for an Infinity TF700 but couldn't. I was being sarcastic to Asus top cheerleader btw. I'm just shocked that's all

As far as I can tell the 3 different display choices effect gamma, warmth and saturation. I personally prefer the "movie" setting as it gives the blackest blacks while adding some warmth. The other two settings ccreate some activating around screen fonts.
Does anyone know of a good app that sets gamma independently?

Just Recieved a Galaxy S3 - First Newcommer Impressions!

First of all, Hi all!
I have been on the Xperia Play section of the XDA Forums have just bought a new Galaxy S3.
The phone is very aesthetically pleasing! I am very impressed by the speed of the phone and the screen clarity, they are just simply amazing to someone who was used to a LED backlit LCD screen!
The S-Voice: (Yes I know it is a little bit of a gimmick) is pretty awesome and accurate, it definitely gives Siri a good run for its money (one of the things Apple pride themselves most in)
Camera: What can I say? They are just great, both probably better than Iphone 5, especailly the front facing camera!
Gyroscope: Awesome with Streetview when you hit the "compass mode".
LTE : Will not be able to test it out yet in another few weeks unit the UK will get it. Having near like broadband speeds or sometimes better just seems really great, especially if you're stuck in an airport waiting for delayed flights and you wanna watch a movie on Netflix or Youtube.
NFC: Sounds awesome but I will probably not be using it as most stores in the UK do not use this technology. There is also the security aspect of the thing I'm slightly worried about anyway.
UI: Not the best but well put together and an intuitive way of handling apps and widgets efficiently.
GPS: Very fast and accurate, much, much faster than the Xperia Play.
Wifi: Not great, I think the proximity range to my home hub has reduced slightly compared to the Xperia Play ( a 2011 model phone)
Data: Again, the 3g is very fast thanks to its HDSPA+ technology.
Memory: I have noticed that I cannot use this to move app data to SD card, this is all fine with a 16gb internal memory but can be a problem if you are interested into the high end games. I understand there is probably a fix to this with root but have decided not to root it just so that I have time to fully see the phone is fully functional without my warranty being voided.
Body: Large but just large enough to sit comfortably in my hand, I think the Iphone body quality is better and stronger than the S3. When removed, the back plate of the S3 just really feels very plasticy and malleable. However, it all compensates when put back together makes the phone a strong, thin and robust.
So yeh......
This is my own personal insight of the magnificent phone that I received today! Hope I can contribute as much info to this section as I can!
I too came from the play and the improvement is monumental imo. Obviously I'll miss the hardware game pad but I'm using fspe and sixaxis which is awesome and something you should look into.

I agree with most of your comments, but if your model number is I9300 you will not get LTE, because it doesn't have an LTE modem, HSPA+ is decent for watching video with a decent signal.
And NFC is secure, it can handle encrypted traffic, also its maximum range is less than 20cm, so people have to be very close to intercept data and you will notice someone elses hand that close to your phone.
And finally if you don't like the UI change it
I came from last 3 generations of iPhones to Galaxy S3, and even with iPhone 5 out theres no way I would go back

Just having a removable battery is ++ for me. Build materials can be improved but I guess they also want to maximize profit.

Painting, drawing extremely sluggish, laggy, inaccurate

Hello guys
No matter what programme I try, drawing with a stylus is really terrible.
If I sign my name, it looks nothing like my signature. If, however, i sign on paper with my eyes closed, I can sign pretty accurately - so its not the fact that the writing lags, but that it does not replicate the exact stylus motion. It seems to sample the movement and try to approximate the movement between samples...
I don't paint a lot, but this is obviously nowhere near the iPad for painting.
Sad but true.

Some paint apps do far better than other ones. Evernote's Skitch was a nightmare, but Markers response time was far better and nicer.
Hi, I just tried marker, lagginess is the same as gnote or sketchbook, more important than the lag is the low resolution approximation of the stylus movement. I still can barely recognise my signature using Marker.
I would have expected this on a cheap or older device, but not this one!

Again, a lot of it is on the app. You should buy the Note 10.1. I believe that has no problems like this at all.
Again, it clearly is not the app or certainly it points very strongly to the fault being with the tablet, as all apps I've tried, including the one you suggested, highlight the same limitation.
The note got very average reviews, and the nexus got a much more favourable reception... Seems neither is up to iPad yet, sadly.

It's usually on the apps because these apps aren't optimized for new hardware or their coding isn't done well enough to keep up with higher resolution devices. Markers works perfectly fine on my GNex which is a low-tier performance device as of now without any lag. Go for the iPad. It's a solid tablet and its apps are certainly made for the iPad unlike the mass majority of the Android apps (which are mainly made for phones).
BTW, the Note 10.1 only got unfavorable reviews because of its low resolution screen not being on par with the iPad's. These reviews generally try to compare anything with numbers with the iPad, and if there is one number that is lacking, they pin down on it. Everything but the screen resolution (not even the screen itself) is great.

Hi there
yeah, I would buy the ipad it it was not for the fact it is made by the apple corporation, and I am not going to support them with my money.
lagginess isnt the main problem.
try the signature test
sign your name several times on paper then immediately pick up a stylus and sign the tablet in exactly the same way three times.
The difference will be HUGE.
This is a lot more serious than lag, as it does a "tweening" between points it registered... so it "smooths out" the details really badly.
Mark.

I know what you mean. I wasn't aware of how sensitive you were to the lag (which isn't a bad thing, just different preferences). I can definitely see the lag. I think you're out of luck unless you buy the Note 10.1.

Note 2 vs. Note 1 in terms of temperature

Hi guys,
I currently own a Galaxy Note N7000, but am planning an upgrade. To the Note 2. Yay!
My Note gets really hot when playing games like Arcane Legends, especially if I plug in the charger (of course). Some times, it gets so hot that the top side of the screen burns my thumb!!! And that even when playing Arcane Legends alone, not charging at the same time!
I wanna know. Are there people who have owned the original Note and switched to the Note 2? If yes... those are the people I want to talk to. They know best how to compare the two.
Never had the N7000 but I can tell you that the N7100 never gets that hot. A little warm yes, hot no.

I wouldn't say it gets too hot, but if you play the right games it can get toasty. Not too shabby though. Any mobile device these days can get up there in temps. It is the nature of the beast. Getting smaller and more robust and trying to keep the temperature down is all part of the challenge. I wonder how well the a15/mod'ed a9's will run in the next year or two. Eager to see how well Samsung's exynos CPU pairs together with imagination technologies GPU. Exciting times for the android gamers as they might see more games and many of those ported from iOS or more time put into them. I really would like science to take advantage of our smartphone gpu's much like distributed networking on PC's.

I'm not gonna sit around and wait another year. I'll get the Note 2, as soon as I sell this Note. My alternatives are... the HTC One, which I doubt will shine development-wise, the Xperia Z which has poor speaker performance and cr*ppy screen and the S4, which will also suck development-wise.
Yeah, definetly not gonna sit around to wait for the A15-powered devices.
I hate my Note right now for the following :
- poor battery performance (despite its 2500 mAh battery)
- screen sucks so bad (plus, black clipping)
- overheating like hell
At least the first two are better on the Note 2 . Enough for me to upgrade.

If I play Arcane Legends over 3G for half an hour and both CPU cores are clocked at 1.4 GHz (maximum), my left thumb is gonna be prone to burns. No joke.

I am sure that the HTC One will get great dev development seeing as how that codeworx is getting the device, as for S4, it should also get great development as it is going to be a very popular device and most of the S4's are going to be Qualcomm not Exynos.

I had the Note 1 and now have the Note 2 and they are 2 different phones. The cpu on the Note 2 is much more powerfull and battery friendly than the one on the GN1. Temperatures are very good and haven`t experienced any heat issues. Switching over to the GN2 will only bring you advantages.

Oh yeah. At least the Qualcomm variant will definetly receive some love. Too bad Krait 300 is Cortex-A9, not Cortex-A15. But it's powerful enough. Way powerful than the cores in the Note 1, that's for sure.
*reconsidering options*
Won't have enough money for neither the One nor the S4. So, it's gonna be the Note 2. It's a powerful enough little tiny beast, anyway

Thank you for your input.
Battery life and power is exactly why I was considering the Note 2. Otherwise I could go for the S3, which has the same ammount of RAM (not really good for long term) and pretty much the same battery life as my Note. Not really worth paying 150 extra bucks for that... Better pay 200 extra bucks for a Note 2 :silly:
The screen is also an important factor for which I am considering the Note 2 over the S3. Screw pentile. RGB for the win!
Also, I know the Note 2 comes with a 2 amp charger. That's awesome! I will be able to play AND charge at the same time :silly:

How is that related to what is being discussed here?
Well, i had an n7100 which is on my mothers hands right now and i switched to the n7100.
The note 2 NEVER gets hot, like ever.. compared to the note1 which does get considerably hot when gaming.
Rest assured that you wont burn your thumb ever again with newer generation phones. Also, battery life on n7100 is brutal.

I did join the Note 2 club last week
I have to admit I was tempted to go for the cold metal beauty of the One, but delayed deliveries to Polish carriers took that option away. And wasn't that impressed by the Z. Not regret it much. That large screen is just beautifull. Who needs FullHD when it's already so sharp and amazing. Seems to be the perfect size too. Well, put it in a case and it gets too big for me. But having the extra screen estate over the lesser phones really is great!
Was initially put off by the horrible look of TouchWiz (have been using CM on my Galaxy S for a long time), but after customizing it a bit (inspired by coldfustion YouTube videos), I'm pretty happy with the results. I now mostly only see the ugliness of TouchWiz during calls and sometimes in the dialer (when it appears from a system call, rather then is brought up manually). Guess I'll proably eventually get rid of that too with a custom ROM, but I'm not in a hurry.
Coming from Galaxy S, I can really appreciate the GPS speed and accuracy. The volume of the loudspeaker is also very nice, even if clarity is nothing to write home about. Browsing and reading/writing e-mails is a real pleasure on this beast!
It does get a bit warm during gaming sessions, but it doesn't seem very hot and I hope its nothing that can cause an actual burn!
The smoothness is not that amazing too me though. I guess partially because I use MultiPicture Live Wallpaper and it always reloads the wallpaper during switching landscape/portrait mode. The default lockscreen was laggy as hell too (tried various fixes suggested here). But I turned that off and am now using the lockscreen from Go Launcher Ex, which is much faster (well, actually that and some icon packs are the only functionalities of that launcher I use... otherwise it's way too laggy, especially compared with Nova). But I'm sure the speed can easily be fixed with a custom ROM.
Just wish I could scale the keyboard down, cause it wastes too much screen estate (using Swype). And Multiwindow... the menus take way too much space... it should scale the content down as well, because as things are, very little actual content is displayed in each window.
^ A little off topic, but just wanted to say that all your wishes can be fulfilled with a rooted stock rom and simplistic and or xposed frameworks, including theming and dpi change, when you're ready for it

What you like and what you hate most on your Samsung Galaxy Note 2?

Hello! I am seriously considering purchasing a Samsung Galaxy Note 2.
I'm coming from an Lg Optimus 4x Hd.
The question is:
This device has some kind of bug?
The camera is good?
The battery lasts about how long?
How is the performance of this device for gaming?
This unit heats up a lot?
The completion of this unit is painted or is it metal?
The function of the S-Pen is useful?
What do you think about this device?
Be honest, what you like and what you hate most on your Samsung Galaxy Note 2?
[EDIT]
Today got the Samsung Galaxy Note 2! I am very happy.
I hope that from now on everything runs as smoothly as possible with Samsung.
LG disappointed me a lot.
I had 3 devices (LG P500h), (LG P990) and (P880 LG).
All devices with critical defects, ranging in quality from the camera, touch screen and gaming performance.
I thank you all for the information provided, and support.
Team, we are now one more!
Thank you!

Hey OP that is the exact situation I was in, I had the crappy 4X HD and swapped it for a note 2. Honestly it was the best decision I have ever made re: mobile devices, it completely destroys the 4X and isn't locked down like the aforementioned LG atrocity. Do it.

No big that I'm aware of. Except you cannot move apps to the sd card easily. Directory bind resolves this.
Personally for me the camera is very good. Maybe not the best on the market though?
I get all day of very heavy usage out of my battery and I've disowned my in car chargers now.
I play lots of games vice city, nfs, and they are all flawless.
It does not get hot at all.
The phone is plastic but I always use a case.
I don't really use the s pen but my kids love it.
I'm really glad I got this phone it is immense. The best phone I've ever owned. I couldn't go back to a smaller screen. The battery is a dream and it's so quick to use.
Buy it and let us know your thoughts

Bugs? No bugs that i notice.
Camera is pretty good, better than most phone camera's.
More than 14 hours battery life for me.
Gaming is awesome, will run nova 3, asphalt 7, and others perfectly.
Mine hasnt heated up at all, nice and cool unless i go mad flashing roms, then it gets warm.
Plastic, and i am enjoying the plastic.
Spen depends on what you use it for, most of samsungs functions seem a little gimmicky to me, however 1024 levels of pressure sensitivity with sketchbook pro for tablets makes this an awesome tool for an artist.
This is a very nice phone, i love it.
The only thing that might be considered bad is the lack of updates from samsung; but that can also be a good thing. I have a nexus 7 tablet, 4.1 was good, 4.1.2 was good, 4.2.1 ran poorly, 4.2.2 was good. The nice thing about slow updates is we will likely never see 4.2.1 for this phone, the bad thing is if we get a bad update we get stuck on it for a while.
Tl;dr awesome phone, you will probably love it.

Guess what, there is a guy who used note 2 which came last year, bought s4 and sold it again to get note 2 again. Just shows how cool is this phone.
After using s1-s3, I was very hesitant to get this phone but honestly this has been my best ever experience since last 8 months with note 2. Just close your eyes and buy it.
What I loved most:
0% lag, thanks to quad core ad 2 gig ram.
battery is toooooo good for a smartphone, you will just love it.
Perfect size.
What I disliked:
Poor wifi signal reception, actually signals dropout/fluctuate very frequently.
Poor low light camera performance, just like other galaxy series phone.
Ooh, toughie. Will try to be as objective as possible. Mine:
Pros:
Absolute beast - no lags, runs anything that would run on it without any issues or stutters etc.
Wolfston Sound chip, which gives you excellent results with your high quality headphones if you use one.
Battery life - hands down the best battery life I've ever had in a smartphone. Can't seem to kill the battery even with super heavy usage.
Expandable storage - nuff said.
Gorgeous screen - in my personal opinion, it has the best SAMOLED screen of all other phones. Love the 5.5'' RGB amoled, calibrate and you get gorgeous contrast ratio and color reproduction with the screen.
S Pen - underrated, helps me to take notes, and browsing is far better with the S Pen out.
Those are the things I LOVE, there are plenty more I like a lot, which I can't even begin to list here.
Cons:
Camera is top notch, but if you're into taking pictures of moving objects, it's bit of a letdown.
Awkward to use one handed - you can use it, but it's still awkward. That should be obvious though, given how large the phone is. Amazing for two handed though, you'll struggle to type in tiny phones once you get used to it.
Relatively poor daylight visibility - much better than S3, but not on par with S4 or other LCD phones. I can see stuff on bright really bright daylight too, but it isn't terrific. If you're always using your mobile in the sun, that might be something to take into consideration though.

Hmm, is it the router? I mean there must be some workaround surely, because mine has excellent wifi reception, better than my Nexus 7, actually.
I basically don't like the back cover, for me it's pretty slippery and I can feel myself losing grip on it when using it with one hand...and that's basically it

I have 2 routers and issue is same. Do check 1 thing for me, stay in the room where the router is and monitor the signal strength from the wifi icon. Does it remain stable, I mean stuck at 4 full bars or fluctuates between 3 and 4 bars.
What I don't like is that you can't move apps to sd card and that's the only issue I have with this phone. I know there is work around but not feeling very confident about using it. What I like best is a row of numbers above keyboard. Using omega Rom and it's fantastic. This phone is blazing fast, very good battery life doesn't heat up like my old sgs2. And it actually feels quicker than my wife Xperia Z for some reason

- Device has no bug. There was this emmc chip bug and sds issue, but it's 'believed' to be fixed by Samsung.
- S Pen useful? Hell yes! I've mainly considered Note for it, and I'm very impressed. I'm not going back to Galaxy S lineup.
- Device heats up? Honestly I've been using Samsung smartphones for 3 years now and I just don't know what this heating up problem is. And I live in a place where real feel temp is 48°C at noon. People saying my device heats up a lot, no offense, but have no idea what is heating up actually.
- Camera? A lot of people will disagree with me I know, but I found the camera to be average, if not below. However I'm a SLR user. Still, iPhone cameras are way better than N2.
- Battery? At first, on 4.1.1, the battery life was awesome, unmatched in comparison to any other phone and unbeatable. Now with 4.1.2, it's not awesome, but still good, and better than any devices released so far. I don't know about S4 though.
- Gaming performance? I don't play games on mobile phone
- What do I think about the device? If you don't wanna wait for N3, and don't like S lineup then buy it eyes closed.
- What I hate most? Only one thing, PLASTIC.
'Swyped' from my GT-N7100
This device has some kind of bug?
The only thing that irritates me is that the Samsung sms app converts > 320 character sms messages into mms ones. Not really a bug, just an irritating feature which can easily be bypassed by using a third party sms app.
The camera is good?
Amazing. Only the s4 can really top it so far as phone cameras go, imo.
The battery lasts about how long?
Easily lasts a day of heavy use or as much as 2-3 days of light-moderate use. One day I was bored as all hell, used it for eight hours (screen on time) while connected to wifi and it still had 30% left when I plugged it in.
How is the performance of this device for gaming?
I'm not a heavy gamer but I doubt there is a single game on the play store which can make this thing lag.
This unit heats up a lot?
Gets warm if you're gaming or something, I'm ordinarily use like emails, Web, etc it is cool to the touch. Never felt it get uncomfortably warm.
The completion of this unit is painted or is it metal?
It's coloured polycarbonate with a painted silver plastic trim.
The function of the S-Pen is useful?
I use it to take quick notes all the time, in the same way I used to use a small notebook. Tbh the pen is just icing on the cake. Even if it had no pen it would be a great phone. The pen just sets it head and shoulders above all other phones on the market right now, even the gs4.
What do you think about this device?
I love it. At first I thought it might be too big, after 30 minutes of using it my Nexus 4 and gs3 just looked pathetically tiny - like toys in fact - and I knew I could never go back to a small phone like those ones. People still laugh at my phone because of its size. When I see them squinting to read emails on their lesser phones I laugh at them.
Be honest, what you like and what you hate most on your Samsung Galaxy Note 2?
I love everything about it - it's fast, big high quality, high res screen, good camera, good sound quality and volume, huge removable battery (becoming rare these days), micro sd slot, and even though it's big it's thin so the size isn't that much of an issue.
What I hate most is that I can't put the phone down. My Nexus 4 and 7, gs3, even my note 10.1 haven't been touched on the 6 weeks or so I've had this phone. In fact I'm selling all of them because this phone fulfils all my needs.
