I am looking for a way to set independently the
pda sound: like for notifications & alerts
phone sound: what you hear wen IN a call
ringer sound: what you hear when you are called, before you pick up
I noticed phone & ringer share the same setting: So whenever I set the phone sound louder (because i am in a loud environment), the earth begins to shake when I receive the next call.
Any help / suggestions :?:
pda sound: System events can be turned on/off with a tick at Settings>Sounds & Notifications>Volume , but the slider affects all system.
phone sound actually is the system sound.
ringer sound: it should be possible to set it separately in WM2003 - I know nothing about it (still PPC2002PE - xda-developers Special Edition ROM v1.2)
By the way, you can adjust the ringer volume in the entire .WAV file with SoundForge or something like that. And then - volume up!
I figured out to change the volume of the wav / mid.
But still: It should be possible to have the three different volumes set separately.
In WM2003 there are 2 volume sliders: system (notifications & more) and phone (phone & ringer)
Have you seen the Freeware called PocketZenPhone, just follow the thread on this forum. It does what you are looking for plus more. Hope this is what you mean otherwise sorry.
I tried PocketZenPhone.
To me it introduces easy acces to preset profiles very neatly.
But I did not notice that I could set different volumes for phone sound & ringer . . . .
Maybe I have to give it another try.

Yes it does, but it is only since the past few pages that this was implemented and works great.
I installed the vibration feature on my Elf, when I uninstalled it. The keypad does not have the sound effect it used to have when I dial.
I tried the hacks from here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=257415&highlight=keypad+sound+elf
But it doesn't work for WM6. Please help!
Is it fault of OEM dialer skin? There is ringtone delay in Windows mobile. The phone only starts ringing after some 3 rings hearing from the caller's phone. After having tried restoring to the default Windows dialer skin, this lag can be minimize to just 1st ring from the caller's phone and my Diamond can start ringing.
There are posts stating disable HTC dailer skin will loss control the in-call volumn control. You can refer to the following post the black VGA dialer skin is very good looking and there is a post contains a cab file to disable HTC volumn control and give you back the default Windows volumn control for in-call volumn.

You may loss the bluetooth icon in the taskbar when bluetooth is activated without the HTC dialer skin. But this frees some 10mb+ memory and the most important you can hear the ringtone (even in mp3 file) after the 1st ring only. This is what Windows mobile should perform, but OEM just add its "good-looking" dialer skin with hugh skin files in bmp which makes the phone wake up delay.
would be nice if someone could rescript the dialer for better use.. or even better... if htc scripted it GOOD themselves..
work great
it solves accidently anwering or ignoring incomong calls, don't need to use Answerkeys Disabler anymore, just great, even standard volume control makes Diamond quicker. WOW
Yes, that's right, I don't even get a notification or a sound from my calendar when an appointment is due...
I don't know why this has happened, but I suspect I've done something in the registry...
I do get notifications and sounds when I for example receive a SMS, It's just the calendar that won't work...
Please help me asap
And I have also already checked the control panel, and there I have enabled sounds for notifications/calendar
Im not an expert but have the sound files corrupted or something along those lines? If you have your SMS sound working, have you tried assigning that sound to the one that doesn't work and seeing if it works?
Can't be much more help other than doing a hard reset if the above isn't any help.

Yes, I've tried that, but it's not working anyway... I now have it set to my SMS-sound, but no 'pling' on my appointments from my calendar...
and no notification either...
Same for me.
Notifications' sound has disappeared some weeks ago. Probably something I've installed.
At the moment on my phone I have very few applications, here they are:
- Advanced Config
- Beyond pod
- Facebook panel
- Mort player
- pocket player
- S2U2
- SmartPhone Tracker
- YouTube panel
Could you please check if we have some apps in common? Probably the problem is due to one of these.

Of these I only use YouTube panel and Facebook panel (don't use that one).
Did you check under sounds and notifications if you're sounds are still selected there? Did you change their location?
Hope your phone is not mute in any way...
Sorry, I have no other idea...
look at the options of the calender... (extras->options...)
I have the same problem. I do have an sms sound, but no incoming call sound or a notification from the outlook calendar. When i try and select any sound for incoming calls in the sound and notifications menu it plays perfectly. When I get an incoming call there is no sound at all. I also tried to change the settings to ring only, but nothing...
Programs I have installed:
Xperia tweak
TomTom 7
SecureW2
G-Alarm (but it was before I installed this)
Sony Pictures player (hmmm, this might be the one)
Modaco NoData
Total Commander
my call screen appears frozen during call, While I am in a call, none of the soft buttons (mute, speaker hold etc.) are working the entire screen is unresponsive. i can end calls using the hard key, but that is it., i recently installed some .cab files and im new at this....here is a list of what i recently added to my HD2.
BsB, coOkie
v1.7.1,
SRS wow HD,
CHT editor,
startMenu grid,
VGA pandora,
TX Opera mobile 10
HTC diamond MP3 trimmer (...i know! i plan on removing it)
i ve figured it out, had to set "TAP time" on BsB tweak to OFF....well hope this helps another nooooob like me!
Your post with the found solution did help me to solve my problem. And I want to thank you very much for it
