ROM With Navbar Positioning? - Nexus 10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm curently on Thundercat, primarily because it offers Navigation bar positioning (default/centre, left or right). Could anyone let me know if there are other KK ROMs for my Nexus 10 with this option.
I don't necessarily want full Tablet Mode, but having the Navbar Left is kinda nice! Thanks!

[Q] Navigation bar arrows.

Hello. I recently had forward and back arrows on the navigation bar. They would appear on the actual nav bar on the left of the "back" and on the right of the "recents" when I'd bring up the keyboard. I don't know what program put them there but now they are gone. These weren't keyboard arrows, they were left and right arrows integrated into the actual nav bar that's always there and appeared only when the keyboard was out (maybe only in SMS app, not sure..
I'm not sure if this was part of an app or part of a Mod I tested or a setting somewhere or what. I've been ubable to find anything about this via google searches. Anyone know how to get these arrows back? It was awesome having those arrows there without taking up the screen real estate that the arrows keys on swiftkey take up.

[Q] Nav buttons on left

Which custom ROMs support having the Nav buttons on the left side. I'm using PA and I like it, but I'd like to try some others as well. I'd really like a battery icon that shows the percentage.

For the option of Nav buttons on the left I am fairly sure I read that this custom ROM has that feature:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1998585
I'm a huge fan of the true tablet UI (single bar at the bottom with clock and notifications on the right, and navigation buttons on the left) so I'm using SGT7 ROM here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2065049. Its based on CM 10.1
It also has the option for battery percentage.
EDIT: just released today is a pure AOSP ROM with tablet ui. I haven't tested it but I'm sure its solid: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2078315

[Q] Paranoid Android 3+: Can I display status bar with Pie Controls?

I'm really digging Paranoid Android and the extended dekstop mode... That being said, I really miss my status bar. While the Pie control is a fantastic replacement for the bottom control bar, it's much less functional and efficient when it comes to displaying information and notifications.
I miss seeing my time, reception and notifications all the time.
I'd like to get the best of both worlds - Pie Control, with a Status Bar, but so far I haven't had any luck with settings. Is this possible at this point at all?

Yep, just set navbar to 0% in hybrid properties>interface>workspace
Just FYI, the paranoid android team is working on improving the pie so notifications show up as a "tickler" even in pie mode

I must be missing something. I set navbar to 0% as instructed, but the status bar still doesn't show up.
Also, I would like to have a customizable PIE control. There is currently no way to add buttons to PIE. When I'm on AOKP, I always add two buttons to the navbar - menu and search. The menu button is very handy as I can hit it and it shows "Nova Settings" and "System Settings," the two setting menus I use very frequently.
While the search button is on PIE, the menu isn't. Unfortunately, I can't live without it.
[EDIT] Nevermind... you do allow the menu button to show up in PIE. The position can't be changed, but it's a lot better than I mistakenly thought. Sorry!
Make sure not to enable expanded desktop if you're just trying to hide the navbar, if you just set the navbar to 0% it'll hide it and you won't need expanded desktop.
And make sure to press the "apply" button.
Forgot it myself ^^

Yeah, but now the second ring (date, time etc) never shows up. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong ?
I posted this in another thread a while ago but didn't get an answer.
Is there a way to get the Notification bar AND the notifications in the PIE format too? Let me explain. Right now, I have full-screen PIE controls and in the settings I have the Pie type set to "Quick" which brings up the notifications right when Pie gets activated. I really like that functionality and I want to keep it. Is there any way to get that when using the above-posted solution? I can get the Notification bar and Pie controls just like what was posted, but I also want the notifications to pop up when I activate Pie. Anyone get that to work?

Had the same problem as I switched back from using JellyBam to Paranoid Android. As the Paranoid Settings are persistent on the SD card I figured that was where the problem was. I had set the Nav bar to 0% in the Paranoid Settings as that was the only way to hide it in JellyBam, which meant that upon launch already it was set like that. My Pie menu was also not displaying the second ring, however when I set the Nav bar back to 100% and then enabled Expanded Desktop it all of a sudden started working again.
I'm not sure if it was because of the change in the Nav bar size or that I played with the different layouts, but it made the Pie menu work as per usual again. One more thing to mention is that despite where I had tried to set the Pie gravity to before doing all this it never took effect, even after a restart. Now all is fine again.
So play with your layout setting (tablet, phablet, phone) and then set them back to your preferred ones and see if that works.
I know it's most likely not exactly your scenario but am hoping that somehow this helps.

It is not possible to have the full pie and status bar at the same time because it is redundant as said by moles the dev of pa. But they are working on pie2 as of now.

Hey guys I just flashed paranoid android and I can't get my status bar to come back with these instructions.. any advice? This is driving me nuts.

I used paranoid android for a month on my note 2, and from my short experience I know messing with it's settings kinda sucks... I would recommend taking the nav bar to 0%. And then to download LMT launcher and put it in the bottom of the screen. Don't forget to leave full screen mode. Hope I helped :cyclops:

[ROM] or [MOD] for [VZW] Humble Requests

First off...many thanks to ALL you devs who have already contributed and will contribute in the future. Your work is necessary as phone manufacturers ship less than perfect handsets. You guys truly make these products sooooo much better.
From what I've been gathering...a number of folks would like some of these ideas listed added to this wonderful phone. Donations shall be in order of course for all the hard work.
- The ability to hide the ever present location "bullseye" Icon
- Replace the battey icon with a custom one (I always thought that multicolored round one with the percent in the middle was coooooollll), or shrinking the stock percentage and placing it on top the battery.
- Bottom speaker gain control
- knock off works if you tap the empty area of the home-screen in a 3rd party launcher (the stock ui sees it as one big app, which is why it won't work unless you double tap the top status bar.)
- Keeping the top status bar and the lower nav buttons transparent in 3rd party launchers (the stock ui again sees it as one big app, rendering the bars opaque)
- Black or gray theme for settings menu....the white is a bit harsh.
- Double tapping the home nav button brings up LG Voice Mate...or that voice control LG app thingy.
Hide the brightness and volume sliders in the notification panel please!

I'm working on these atm..
but I have F320 Systemui..
no one sent me the Verizon of At&t systemui.apk..
And for the 1% Battery MOD, Framework.res & Lge.res is also required..
EDIT: My friend here, djkinetic sent me those files.. I cannot see or test anything..so i will send it to him for testing. But not everything at once, one by one slowly..
How about removal of the AM/PM please and location icon (as was mentioned)
What kind of bottom speaker control are you asking for?
I support the dark settings theme.
At least you can change the navbar to be black instead of white, and the settings menu to be tabbed instead of one gigantic list. I was worried during initial reviews when they said you couldn't change those.
I'd like to add - ability to customize navbar to add other button types, or at least the customization of the navbar hold-n-drag options (currently holds voice search, Google Now, and something else).

Why buy the G2 if all you want is AOSP? You might as well have waited for the N5.. I don't understand why people buy a phone that has some pretty cool features, only to flash AOSP and lose most of it... I get that a lot of what the G2 does can be built into AOSP with different apps but i guess I'm the only one who buys the phone for the experience that was intended by the manufacturer.
Ok guys, was able to make many things and tested them too! Need to fix a few things. Its 4 am here,by 11am i will make a new thread in themes section

[Q] More real screen estate by virtual navigation bar customization...?

Is there some way (Cyanogenmod or other CustomROM...?) to modify Nexus7 to get more real screen estate (especially in landscape mode) in modern android versions (Jelly Bean, Kitkat)?
I think that the best way to do this would be
1. in portrait mode combine virtual navigation buttons and status bar into one bar that is in lower edge of the screen (Honeycomb style).
2. in landscape mode have a vertical navigation bar (Nexus4, Nexus5, Xperia Z style) in right edge of the screen
3. for even more estate in landscape mode integrate status bar into the vertical navigation bar (modded Honeycomb style. Otherwise pretty simle but displaying time numbers vertically might seem and odd solution but in the long run it is the most efficient solution).
I did even a feature request of this to Android in code.google.com:
"More real screen estate for android tablets by virtual navigation button / status bar customizations"
It is just such a pity. Nexus7, a tablet with so much potential becomes so much an unfinished product when turning it into landscape. Even this tablet (Procaster Mid 007) that costs only 70eur utilizes space better than Nexus7:
And Galaxy Tab3 7.0 is way ahead in real screen estate/usability.

I'm not sure what you mean by rotating?
And no....if you're rooted...installing xposed and gravity box is simple. Installing lmt is simple....hide navigation bar with gravity box....gain real estate at bottom of screen (as OP was asking about) and lmt is like pie. And its nice once you get used to it.
Whole process (assuming you're rooted) takes about 7 minutes.

Yep. Agreed.
@golemus...
Xposed is really simple to install (see link in my sig)... assuming your rooted of course. GravityBox is then installed via the Xposed app itself... and future updates are maintained accordingly. Think of the Xposed app as a sort of repository of all Xposed modules, of which GravityBox is just one. Easy to install, and easy to maintain... and it does work on KitKat 4.4.2... I have it running on my Nexus 7.
IMHO, Xposed framework is the best thing to happen to Android... and GravityBox is just terrific. It offers a whole plethora of great tweaks.
I'm not familiar with LMT though... definitely going to have to have a tinker with that.

I don't like installing anything that you can't get from Google Play store, and I didn't find gravitybox or lmt from there (although I did find some xposed thing from there).
And also I found another (partial) solution, I installed a program called "Auto Hide Soft Keys". Although it was not exactly the solution I wanted, now I have virtual navigation bar in right side of the screen but it is invisible by default and when you swipe it to be visible it will cover something else from the right edge of the screen. You can choose it to be all the time visible but then it will all the time cover content from the right edge. So I have to hide it, which causes that for me to press home, back or multitask buttons I need to acts (first swipe from right edge to get the bar to appear and then press a button in the bar).
A bit offtopic but every time I post something i need to fill a captcha, it is very annoying. Is there any way to get rid of them?
Try it the 4.3 roms. Most of them supports full screen mode with PIE.

I found gravity box, and installed id successfully. However, the only option is to force navbar into tablet like mode, so horizontal when landscape, there is no inverse option to keep it vertical when landscape. How can I approach this?
Also, what is LMT and where to find it? I didn't find it in xposed repository.
