Here is my issue to the best detail i can give.
I am trying to upgrade my Acer Iconia A500 to the latest ICS version, 4.1.2 but im having some issues, as far as loading into the Recovery mode
it says Recovery Verified Fail i understand this rookie question could be irritating to some but i am at a complete lose here, after over a week of searching this is just out of my skill level to try and figure out without asking any questions. i dont know what information i need to give but a step by step direction list would be great to start with my goal here is to get the my 4.0.3 to the latest and greatest any help would be appreciated.

Hello guys, I am new on android. I have downloaded honeycomb 3.1 update for motorola xoom from the internet.
Can i install it to my acer iconia a500?
if yes then how?
i have rooted my iconia a500. now i am not getting updates from acer like .40 and .41 that United states a500 holders received.
i am from Qatar.
is any one from middle east have received these updates?
waiting for reply.
Thanks.
No, you absolutely can NOT install the 3.1 for a different device on your Iconia. Not if you want a working tablet afterwards.
The last day or so have seen a breakthrough in the recovery software for our device, and there's a partially working beta of a 3.1 update specially for the Tab on these forums, but your best bet for now is waiting for the official update due within the next 2 weeks.
no you will KILL your tablet...
either wait for an update to hit your region or have someone a little more android savvy install the PRIMEE 1.4 custom rom for you.

check that
Also for future reference keep questions in the general thread as opposed to the development thread
thanks to all for reply
I am thankful to all who reply and save me from doing harm to my tablet.
i will keep care next time and will not post questions in this development section.
pardon me for that.
EVERYONE PLEASE Read This before helping !!!
Let me start by saying I'm guilty also.
Giving help is expected here on XDA and is very much appreciated.
We are giving help and causing worse problems than the OP began with!
When asking for help please give enough information about your unit and your problem to receive a proper response.
When helping if proper info is not given then begin by asking for enough to give proper answer. Do not suggest flashing anything without proper information!
There may be other things that should be in this list (if so tell me and I'll add them).
What device – TF300T, TF300TG, etc.
What bootloader – ICS or JB. If ever on JB you are JB(this should change in the future).
What recovery did you use, not just CWM or TWRP but which version ICS or JB or by version number.
What rom did you begin with before trouble, stock or custom XXX and which one not just HYDRO, etc.
What did you flash? CWM or TWRP is not enough information. Which version by number or ICS, JB.
We have to start considering the bootloader in every question and answer!!
Because Xxxxxxx flashed this and fixed his device is not enough to blindly suggest the poster do the same.
A large percent of the problems being reported are from flashing the incorrect thing for the unit and or the bootloader and we are blindly suggesting the same thing instead of obtaining enough facts and giving an answer that will help the OP instead of hurt the OP.
We Must Stop!
Thanks for taking the time to read my rant!

Hello Everyone,
I am a newbie and I have spent several days browsing this forum trying to update my Acer Iconia A500 tab from ICS 4.0.3 to Jellybean with no luck. I do not have the necessary technical skills to understand how to do so. I would rather pay some good samaritan to do it for me remotely if possible than brick my device. I am attaching some screenshots to show you how far I have progressed. If you feel you can help me out than please PM me. Thanks!!!
Hey everyone,
BlissPop recently notified me of an updated version and so I used its integrated function to download and install it. After clicking the install-button the system was rebooted to recovery mode (TWRP) and left me standing there.
I've got following questions I hope I'll get answers on:
Do I have to repeat the flashing-procedure (like when originally flashing BlissPop the first time) in order to update it?
And wouldn't all my data be lost then?
Please excuse me for asking on such relatively basic topic for this place. :/ I am pretty inexperienced concerning Custom ROMs and would really appreciate help or much rather guidance with this, if possible. The board's search feature didn't bring up any but that might as well be because english is not my native tongue.
Anyways, I really hope someone can help me. Thanks in advance.
Yours
Tattva
Hey guys, I would normally try to read up on any help I can find but I feel like it would take forever
for what I want to do so any help would be greatly appreciated!
I am new to Android and I want to root the Note 4 (SM-N910T) and install a custom rom like cyanogenmod
or stock android AFTER updating the stock v4.4.4 (kitkat) to Nougat (hopefully) or even Marshmallow is fine
assuming this is possible.
I am only going to use it as a tablet, and is not connected to any carrier. Of course I need WIFI.
I want to root because I want to eliminate any chance of future lag and also get rid of bloatware.
Could you please direct me or give me step by step instructions to accomplish this? You don't have to
assume that I'm on grandma knowledge level, but if one of the steps requires that I back it up first, I would
have no idea how to do this or the best way to do it....
Any advice or opinion would be appreciated as well regarding my little project. If what I'm asking is not
possible, any suggestion on how to get rid of bloatware and lag and update to the best working android
version would be appreciated!
Thanks guys!
