Hi, I've been trying to get my wifi to work for the ics and jellybean custom roms using coderz's 3.0.66 kernel even though this helps it tends to disable the usb connection, can anyone help me figure out a way....
P.S. my wifi has issues with most jellybean roms anyway to resolve this?

Which rom?
Also, does your phone have the headset heat?
i found a solution to my problem
Sorry for not replying earlier man, i did a little bit of research and found out that the problem was with my wifi region settings (which only works with US), therefore I no longer use the coderz kernel. I am currently on the Mokee 4.2.2 rom which is great.....But is there a way to let the region settings stay as they have been set after reboot.. I have no headset overheat ..thank youuu

Hello everyone, i'm using the JPF clean rom + modified jpb kernel found on the dev section... everything is working fine but USB tethering sucks most of the time since JPA firmware!
The thing is, why wifi tethering is perfectly fine and stable while the USB one just interrupts from working time by time?
I'm really disappointed by this, anyone experiencing similar issues?
REAL SORRY, wrong forum... please move on general
i have experienced this too....good catch buddy

Did you format before the ROM upgrade and then again after? If not, then that could be your culprit. IF you hard reset before and after a ROM change, this reduces the number of problems you get later on! Try that. Back everything up (data), do a hard rest, update firmware, and then hardreset again. Then restore your data, and it should resolve the issue!
Noticed atm if i disable my screen from turning off my connection doesn't die on me
i just rooted my nexus4 (Mako) and i flashed the latest PACman ROM, i had NO issues, no errors, nothing. when i turn the phone on i notice that it doesnt recognize the wifi, is like its been disabled and then i notice that the speaker wont work either

Well even I'm having the same problem but not just with PAC ROMs...WiFi doesn't work on paranoid android, aokp as well...
Right now I'm running CyanogenMod 11 which is quite stable...have been using it for some time now without any issues...this, and the stock ROM are the only ones where WiFi works for me
If u found a fix please post it ...
My friend had the same problem, his phone could not connect my wifi, but mine could. If you have another phone with wifi try if you can connect.
Sometimes its not phones fault,I fixed my friends problem going to my routers page(192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 Depens what router you are using. )
So I went on routers page, went to Wifi settings and then changed the channel settings(From 01 channel to 04).
And then restarted router.
My friend was able to connect to it right away.
Note:This problem began to appear when he flashed custom rom.
Hope this works for you

Ditto here. Wifis greyed out on most Roms.Add Miui to this list also.. :-/ anyone know what's wrong.. ???
Absolutely NOT router related..
Running pa 4.0 beta here. No issues.
For those flashing KK roms, are you using the latest radio?
Fixed it!

Hey!!
@audit13 is right...
I was flashing 4.3 ROMs without flashing radio....
Go there ---> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2087227 and download and flash the correct radio files and you're good to go!!

Hi mate
RIL stands for Radio Interface Layer , did you try the basics?
Different modem
Different kernel
Switch to WCDMA only see if it goes better
Switch to GSM only see if it helps

Hi
I use Omega's kernel , is good is almost stock , you could also use Samsung kernel and Maxfour kernel
Hello guys,
I've been trying to fix wifi on my Defy since I got the phone a month ago and I'm starting to get really frustrated with this problem.
I usually just read, dont post on forums but I've tried alot of solutions found on this forum and others and. nothing has worked except flashing CM10/11 or SlimRom. Wifi doesn't work properly on stock ROM or MIUI so my guess is it's a framework problem which has been fixed on newer versions because as soon as I swith to android 4.0 or above, I have no problem, but these ROMs eat up alot of the phones resources and I would like to have a more fluent experience so I want to stay on MIUI.
Any other defive connects fine to my Asus router.
So on any gingerbread ROM (stock/custom) wifi works fine a few minutes and then the signal drops and disconnects. After that I can't see any wifi networks in range. and only works again if I enable/disable wifi or activate/deactivate airplane mode, but it drops again after a few minutes.
I've tried changing every setting in the router(changed channels, frequencies, disabled 802.11n mode, changed to g mode, etc), or in the defy related, nothing works unless I flash an android 4.x.
Plz help, I'm desperate.
Thx.

One idea: try getting the Wi-Fi related files from a CM11 rom and use them in a CM7 one. Maybe system/etc/wifi ?

Can you do that? Has anyone tried it? I mean I suppose you mean the wifi drivers, are they compatible with a gingerbread system if they were designed for android 4.x? And if so where/which arethese files? and do I simply replace them like copy/paste?

I used to replace gps.conf with a version that worked better in my country. I never tried with wi-fi files. You could copy-paste them, but I think you should repair permission afterwards.
Gps via wifi or 3g, doesnt work after you click on test or when kernel adiutor apply its settings at boot.
I tried some mods of KA, and no sucess. Tried chaning gps confs, using faster gps, no sucess too. Tried multiple roms, multiple kernels, and no sucess.
if anything from any section is applied, the gps via network stops working.
This is in ANY custom rom.
Does anyone have a solution to this, or maybe help finding a solution? i'm going crazy... i want so badly to use a custom rom, but this is the only issue i'm experiencing that i need, and it works perfectly in stock miui rom.
Please help me, and everyone that may be experiencing this :'( lol

Everything is okay, locations work fine. But if kernel adiutor applies its settings, the locations stop working at the exact moment
Damn, still no thoughts or solution to this
