[SOLVED] My Samsung Galaxy Y GT-S5360 won't start

Hello everybody
My friend has a Samsung Galaxy Y GT-S5360 and since yesterday it won't start. It shows "Samsung Galaxy Y young" and doesn't start. So I decided to try to root it and install Jellyblast v3 but it's the same problem. I followed a tutorial and tried to wipe cache and data but still the same problem. So now I read that the people who had the same problem as me, resolved their problem by flashing the stock rom with odin. But I saw that we needed some information like PDA, PHONE and CSC but I can't have these informations as the phone won't start So I am going to follow a tutorial to flash it with odin. But I'm worried about bricking definitely her phone :s So I want to know if there is no risk to brick her phone if I try to flash a stock rom without knowing these information (PDA PHONE CSC).

please look in my signature for easy flashguide,there is all info you need.its very newby friendly and believe me thats no problem,you just stuck on boot,its not so bad and easy to solve,you only need a uauable brain an eyes.i know u can do it.good luck

I downloaded a package and indeed there are 3 files into the zip. But these file are PDA / CSC / MODEM and in your guide you mention a PHONE file, is that the MODEM file ?

We managed to install a package but there are no french language in the one we installed. But we have these information now:
PDA: S5360DXKJ3
PHONE: S5360DXKJ1
CSC : S5360OLBKJ2
Could you tell me which package we must install to have the french language please ?

You should install SGY driver first

you installed cwm how?
there is only to types of cwm for galaxy y
1 - tempory cwm zip - flashed in stock recovery to give you cwm - this zip must be flashed each time you enter recovery to bring up cwm
2 - perminant cwm - this is included in a custom kernel and replaces stock kernel and stock recovery with a custom kernel and recovery
if you flashed a kernel state which one it was
to use odin
download odin 3.07
download and install samsung usb drivers
put phone in download mode by pressing vol down home button power button until download screen appears
connect phone to pc via usb cable
press vol up to begin connection
wait for drivers to install
open odin
on the left hand side it should say under com:id com then a number in a coloured box if connected
then put
pda in pda
modem in phone
csc in csc
then start

Hi ! my Samsung Galaxy y young GT-s5360 wont start after my friend tried to Upgrade it,
After i've tried to open my phone, its Stuck on the Logo "Samsung Galaxy Y young GT-S5360"
i've tried to wait of almost 10 minutes but my phone still Freeze,I've also tried to Access the Samsung Sytem recovery but it wont appear on my Screen

u phone got brick. please read previous post. u problem can be solved by use Odin.

You can flash stock rom without odin..but you need CWM

no you cant flash stock "firmware" without odin
if you flash a so called stock firmware via cwm all you are doing is flashing a custom rom with no modifications - slight technically difference

By keeping a Nandroid backup in sdcard and restoring with Cwm..

wouldnt work though if you changed your file system to ext to use cm7/9/cyanmobile/pa
you can only restore a nandroid backup fully if you restore it on the kernel on which it was made and you are on the same file system as it was made although you can advanced restore if on different kernel and should work if it can verify md5 sum

Don't understand the question sorry
Like I said - download the firmware from my firmware thread & follow all the instructions
Pda goes in pda
Modem goes in phone
CSC goes in csc
Please follow all instructions on my firmware thread - links in signature

Hey There!
Please provide the error message that Odin displays.
1. Was your phone on Download Mode before you start flashing?
2. If the answer is yes to the above, did you try plugging the USB cable to another port on your PC/Laptop ?
3. If yes to the above, under Odin Message did it display as "Added!!" before you started flashing via PDA option ?

You cant flash that stock ROM coz you have a SGH-I337:
- Sig in and log in Sammobile.com
- Download and unzip this firmware: HERE (Dont try to flash other firmware coz ur phone haven't updates)
- Flash through Odin like in pic attached.

[Q]Can't install custom recovery on s4

Hi, i have a problem when i try to install the custom recovery of philz. (The latest one for s4 6.53.9)
I have a samsung s4 black edition. I did all the steps on the guide, but when i install the custom recovery i only get "reset" on odin and nothing happened on the phone. On download mode it say that i have a custom firmware but the knox warranty flag has not tripped.
If anyone have an answer please help.

Can you please link the guide you have followed?
What black edition version do you have? I9500 or I9505, i understand there are 2 versions depending on region.
Is the bootloader unlocked?
What version Odin are you using?
Remember to reboot into recovery by holding volume up while turning power on after flashing.
Holding volume down gives you download mode.
Did you put the recovery package in the PDA tab?

I use odin 3.07 and used the guide of philz. I tryed with auto reboot and without auto reboot on odin, i put the tar.md5 file on pda without anything else. The only other option ticked was f.reset time.

Noone knows anything? Please help, I can't do anything with the phone in this state. I can't install the official firmware nor the recovery too.

Uncheck auto-reboot in Odin.
if problem persists:
Different usb cable
Different usb port
Make sure Kies is not running in the background.

Already done all that stuff,
Any other suggestions?

Download tar file again or a different one , is a new one for the I9505

In odin 3.07 I was putting the tar.md5 in PDA, where should I put it now? Because your file is in .zip.md5 and I can't put it in any slot.

I put it in Ap slot and then started but when it finish shows only reset and after few minutes without touching anything it change on Passed!
Then I unplugged the pone and tried home+vol up + power but it doesn't go in the recovery sistem menu

Glad is working
Yes you can make a nandroid , go to backup and restore choose your backup destination ( recommend external SD)

[Q] Having trouble installing TWRP!!

Hey Guys, I was trying to flash TWRP into my SM-N9005 but after flashing it didn't work. It just booted stock recovery.
Here are the steps
1. Downloading latest recovery v2.8.3.0 TWRP
2. Installing drivers
3. Putting phone into download mode
4. Connecting the cable
5. Starting Odin v3.09 as Admin
6. Adding the recovery into AP
7. Start
Didn't Work! You should know I never rooted my phone and also Auto Reboot and F.Reset time options were also checked!
Need Help Guys!!

Did you download the Odin version of TWRP ?
Did Odin find your phone when you connected it ?
Did you enable USB debugging ?
First run Odin then connect your phone (it doesn't really matter, but for the sake of it).
And FYI, it's forbidden to bump up your thread in less then 24 hours. What do you think, people are just waiting here to answer your questions ? Patience.

I did all of those things downloaded the tar.md5 file for Odin
It found my phone and showed added
Enabled USB debugging
What now? Should I try Unchecking the Auto reboot option and flash?
Need help!

I think that your just downloading the wrong file!
This is the file you will need to flash in order to get twrp via odin

On Kies it say my phone no recognise by Kies..
Phone already rooted and use Philz Touch Recovery, Phone system from another Prime Phone, but Cannot Turn On Wifi and Erorr to open Camera..
Baseband Version G530HXCU1AOA2
If there have another way to fix it please tell me..

if U see 530H-DV u got to download HXCU...ROMs
If U see 530H-DS U got to download HXX... ROMs

Edit : Finaly sucses flash Grand prime ..
Just Forgot to check Full nand erase on Odin when odin fail before, i am using Emirate Firmware and work like a charm...
