I remember on my old Verizon Note 2 I could just download busybox drivers and stuff and then hook it in the PC and just run ghetto root and it rooted it automatically with no hassle, and now I'm seeing bootloading and ODIN stuff and I'm pretty much a noob at this stuff, so is there an easier method that roots automatically or I don't have to do much?
Sorry :l
Easiest method I know of would be to flash TWRP via Odin and then flash supersu from TWRP.
yes...
1. Download TWRP for Note 3(your model) from twrp.me
2. Download supersu for Note 3 and copy to Phone/SD card. (both TWRP and Supersu have XDA threads as well)
3. Download and install Samsung drivers in PC.
4. Download and open ODIN in PC.
5. Follow "Odin Flash" instructions (connect Phone and get into Download mode using key combo) from TWRP download page and install via ODIN.
6. After installing, Power Off phone and get into Recovery (by key combo) and flash Supersu.
7. Wipe Cache and Dalvik Cache.
8. Power up.
It looks big but just a 10 mins work
Why Flash twrp? If only root needed. Wouldn't it be easier just to flash supersu in odin?
Odin doesn't work for all models and ROMs of the Note 3.

Personal Experience
I Rooted My Samsung Galaxy Grand Via Kingroot v.3.3.1.apk because I Have No PC And Odin Method Reuires PC.So I Read Many Threads Replace Kinguser With SuperSU But None Of Them Working For Me.Then I Plan To Unroot My Device and Unrooted Successfully.I Have "Replace Kjnguser With SuperSu.zip that Can Be Executed By Terminal Emulator But I Flash It By Recovery And It Shows An Error And After Error It Shows You Device Is Not Rooted "ROOT NOW Yes/No.I Select Yes Then After Reboot Install SuperSu.apk In Myphone And After In Sytem And It Is Working Fine
Method :
Requirement : Custom Recovery Must Be Installed (CWM or TWRP)
Before Proceeding This Method
1)Open Kinguser App
2)Go In Kinguser Settings And Remove Root Permission
3)Use Any File Manager And Create A Zip File e.g.SuperSu.apk to SuperSu.zip And. Put It In Your External SD Card
3)Now Go Into In Recovery By Vol Up+Home+Power Key
4)Now Flash The Zip File (Install zip from Sd Card And Select From SdCard1 SuperSu.zip) It Show An Error Because It Is User Created Zip
5)Before Flashing It Shows Your Phone Is Not Rooted "Root Now"
6)Select Yes
7)Now Reboot Your Phone
8)Install SuperSU.apk Normally
9)Open SuperSU And Install Su Binary Normally
10)Go In SuperSu Settings And Install SuperSU in System
11)Reboot Your Device
12)Congrats,You have Replaced Kinguser With SuperSU
Download The Latest Version Of SuperSU.apk
Hit,Thanks If This Method Works For You
Hi,
I want to go from 4.4.2 stock unrooted device to the official CM12.1 ROM. However, I am not sure what I need to do/have and the order in which I should proceed in order to make the process safe and optimal. I think that if someone more knowledgeable writes a simple guide here on in a separate thread on this topic it will be immensely helpful to the community.
Thanks in advance!
You only have to follow three guides:
1. Root your device
2. Install TWRP
3. Flash CM
Download-
1. Kingroot android app
2. Twrp manager app
3. Cm12.1
All you need to is-
1. Root your phone using kingroot app.
2. After rooting install twrp recovery by twrp manager app.
3. Then boot your phone into recovery mode and click on "install" then choose cm12.1
You don't need a pc for this... GOOD LUCK
Download-
1. Kingroot android app
2. Flashify (from the play store)
3. Twrp manager app
4. Cm12.1
5. Open Gapps (ones you prefer, I use mini)
All you need to is-
1. Root your phone using kingroot app.
2. Install Flashify & make a backup of stock kernel & recovery.
3. Install twrp recovery. Boot into TWRP recovery using power + volume down keys (while phone is off). THEN USE IT TO MAKE COMPLETE COSTUME BACKUP! Check every single partition to make a backup of (you may consider for the size reasons skipping the data partition, that is one containing apps you installed). Transfer this backup to a PC or other safe storage & take a good care of it because when ever you screw up things this one will allowe you to get back to stock. Also do the same with Flashify Kernel & stock recovery backups.
4. Boot into TWRP recovery using power + volume down keys (while phone is off). If not already there. Do the wipe! Install CyanogenMod 12.1 (I strongly recommend last official build) & after that install Gapps.
You are done with installing.
Lett it boot for a first time (which takes some time), do a initial required setup & after that go to options about the phone & tap on revision number until you enable developer options, then go into developer options & enable root access (to regain it) for apps & ADB.
& there you go. I leave future installing & adjusting what ever you want to your preferred choice.

Check chapter 8: Getting root
Though actually needed steps are
1. Flash 1.zip (It makes SuperSu to install in system-less mode to make it able to boot on our phone)
2. Flash normal SuperSu.zip (newest stable version)
3. Reboot phone
4. Phone bootloops few times and then boots normally
5. You're Done!

Yes and SuperSu you can find here https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/supersu/stable-2016-09-01supersu-v2-78-release-t3452703
And better take back-up before flashing, just in case
Alternatively, you can use Magisk to root your phone (just flash the zip through TWRP and it's done).
Hello all,
This may seem like a stupid question, but I want to make sure that I know what i'm doing before I mess something up and become
So I'm running a Samsung Galaxy S5 (G900V ovbiously), and it has the tobisha emmc chip
Is the only way to gain root on Marshmallow/Nougat or whatever is by reverting to Lollipop, gaining root access, installing TWRP, and then flashing LineageOS/some ROM?
Directions For Users With CID 11 Toshiba eMMC
1. Download EMMC_11_ Root S5_QB2_PB1.zip
2. Unzip
Copy the following to your External SD card:
Root S5 Folder,
EMMC_11_PB1_5_0_1_LL_Firmware_Bootloader.zip, EMMC_11_QA1_6_0_1_MM_Firmware_Bootloaders.zip,
and the TouchWiz ROM you want to install.
3. Reboot Phone to Download Mode (Pwr +Vol Dwn+Home)
4. Use Odin 3.12 and load the COMBINATION_VZW_FA44_G900VVRU2APA1_VZW2APA1_257265 6_REV00_user_mid_noship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5 in the AP Slot
5. Flash and let the phone reboot. It will reboot to recovery and finish install then it will reboot and take about 20 seconds to boot.
6. If you do not have an External SD Card, copy the following NOW to your Internal Storage:
Root S5 Folder,
EMMC_11_PB1_5_0_1_LL_Firmware_Bootloader.zip, EMMC_11_QA1_6_0_1_MM_Firmware_Bootloaders.zip,
and whatever TouchWiz ROM you want to install.
7. Use the File Manager in the app drawer of the phone and install Apex_Lancher.apk press home button and set Apex as the default launcher.
Install Superuser.apk, Busybox.apk and SafeStrapKK.apk do not open anything yet.
8. Now Install tr_v2.apk.
Open TowelRoot and CLICK MAKE IT RAIN . It should tell you you have succeeded.
9. Now Open Superuser app and click "New User" to install it.
Once done, open SuperSU and update the SU binaries using the "NORMAL" method. It will tell you you need to reboot. You can skip doing this. (If the Superuser install hangs for more than 5 minutes reboot phone and try to install it again.)
10. Now open the BusyBox app, grant SuperSU access and install BusyBox.
11. Now open SafeStrap, grant SuperSu access and click "install recovery". If the SafeStrap recovery fails to install, make sure BusyBox is installed by rerunning the BusyBox app (it will tell you if BusyBox is installed) if not click "install" again, reboot phone and open SafeStrap and try to install recovery again
12. Once SafeStrap Recovery is installed click "reboot to SafeStrap Recovery".
13. Once in SafeStrap Recovery, choose what firmware you want to be on:
Lollipop 5.0 Firmware=EMMC_11_PB1_5_0_1_LL_Firmware_Bootloader.zip
Marsmhallow 6.0 Firmware=EMMC_11_QA1_6_0_1_MM_Firmware_Bootloaders.zip
14. Install the firmware zip, and then flash a TouchWiz Lollipop ROM. (Here is the latest stock rooted Lollipop Rom: VZW_BPB1_ODEX_DEODEX_V9.zip). You may want to download a copy of the latest SuperSu zip, and flash if installing a Lollipop ROM that is not rooted. Remember, you cannot root Marshmallow ROMs, so do not try and flash the SuperSu zip on a Marshmallow Rom (you will softbrick if you do).
15. After you install any Lollipop ROM, you may need to reinstall SafeStrap Recovery. Most of the time you don't have to and SafeStrap can be reached by flashing the KitKat Kernel in Download Mode with ODIN. But, in some cases, when flashing a ROM that flashes a system.img instead of a system folder, you may lose SafeStrap during install. This will be the case if you install the above ROM. You can reinstall it after the ROM is booted up. A Safestrap-G900V-4.04_LL_MM.apk is included that will flash a version of SafeStrap that will allow you to reboot to SafeStrap Recovery without flashing a KitKat kernel in Odin. Install BusyBox again from the BusyBox App in the RootS5 Folder. Install Safestrap-G900V-4.04_LL_MM.apk and make sure to grant SuperSU access. It may take a few seconds to prompt. If SafeStrap is not installed, click "Install Recovery". If Safestrap is still installed click on "Uninstall Recovery", close the app, and reopen it. It should say recovery is not installed. Now click on "Install Recovery". If this doesn't work, reboot the phone and try again. Once installed, you can just click reboot to SafeStrap from the SafeStrap app and you will reboot straight to SafeStrap. Remember to flash the appropriate Kernel when leaving SafeStrap!
Download and place these on your device:
LL_KERNEL_SS-FF_Flashable.zip, and
MM_KERNEL_SS-FF_Flashable.zip
If something bad goes wrong you can usually get back to SafeStrap by simply rebooting the phone to Download Mode and flashing NI2_stock_kernel.tar.md5. When the phone reboots, watch for the SafeStrap splash screen and enter SafeStrap.
16. Do NOT change ANY boot options in SafeStrap. ROM slots cannot be used, so you must flash to the Stock ROM slot EVERY TIME OR YOU WILL SOFTBRICK. Some functions don't work in SafeStrap, like choosing an image file to flash directly. All image files must be flashed via zip file.
