D800 Bluetooth Voice Dialing - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Bluetooth voice dialing works on the D800 stock ROM. However, I would really like to use one of the Flex ROMs, or even one of the other G2 ROMS (which most use international as base), as my DD, but I can't get bluetooth voice dialing to work on any of them. Has anyone got it to work on a non-D800 ROM, or is it due to a change LG made in the framework, and it simply isn't possible? Thanks!

Issues with voice command

So I got my hands on a newer version of VC and it work really well on my xv6800 except that its does not announce callers. Isn't VC supposed to do that?
Any idea how to get it to work?
I think mine works, but the voice in general for announcements is VERY quiet! I wish audiopara would also get this loud as well.
Sorry, but I can only tell you thats is extra quiet... Did you ensure that the proper options are checked in the config?
I believe that all the proper options are checked, but I'll look again to make sure. I don't think that the options are independent. I mean if I have notifications going to my BT for appointments and the like, I would think that all notifications would follow the same path. Still, I will definitely check again.
One thing odd is in some of the older versions of Voice Command there was a separate program that was called Voice Command BT which had some setting for bluetooth. I don't see that with this version of Voice Command, but again, I am getting some of the notifications through BT, so I'm sure it has the ability to communicate with the BT.
Can you tell what version of VC it is. I have had mostly success with it but the latest DCD Rom seems to have issues especially if I install the pay for package that I paid for. If I cook it in it seems to work most of the time. Sometimes I have to reboot to get it to recognize my commands.
Voice Command after MR1 update
After I updated using the MR1 release, voice command seemed to work better than ever. What I noticed though is that now it will not announce incoming calls. Announces everything else, but refuses to work on calls. I ended up installing a ripped version (19214) and just need to perform the bluetooth volume regedit.
I have a paid version that I bought 2 years ago to use with my 6700.
It did NOT work at all with the MR1 update or with the 6800 before the update.
I looked online and found a version 19209 and tried that one. All works perfectly!
except one thing. It will not read sms msgs anymore, but I can live with that. Notifications works (except sms), confirm works through bt, it is loud enough to hear who is calling....

No voice dialing over bluetooth? Any workaround?

This is my first Android phone and I've been really happy with everything so far except for the inability to make hands-free calls over bluetooth. I guess this is an issue with all Android phones?
Is there any workaround for this? I'd pay for an app to get this functionality but the only thing I've found so far is something people have used to remap a camera button to launch the voice dialer, but I assume that wouldn't work for this phone (the Incredible doesn't have a physical camera button, does it?)
This was a huge issue for me. To the point that I was returning the phone. But the only time I use BT is when I'm in my car, which has SYNC and allows the phonebook to be downloaded to it. So now voice dialing works perfectly. I've heard the voice dialing is a long way off (the Google blog on it started 2 years ago), so I suggest buying a Ford with SYNC. LOL
Parrot bluetooth does the same thing, you just have to prerecord a few key words and the names you want to voice dial. My kenwood (made by parrot) has voice dial and works sweat

The Moto Devour (android 1.6) and Moto Milestone (with 2.1 upgrade) DO include Nuance VSuite for Bluetooth Voice Activated dialing... It works just the same as my old Moto V9M, my blackberries, my LG enV, Dare, Voyager...
I wonder if someone could rip it out of the Milestone 2.1 upgrade (like from Telus), and could get it working on the Incredible?

That would be great. Maybe now that the phone has been rooted this will be possible? Has this been done for any other android phone?

[Q] No Bluetooth Voice Dial for Desire Z????

OK -- Froyo is supposed to have Bluetooth Voice Dial -- but apparently it is disabled on the Desire Z.
I've seen some references that it might be enabled on North American phones, but on my Euro Desire Z it doesn't work. I click on my bluetooth headset button and nothing happens.
For now, I've installed Choice Dialer, and it works (you have to restart the phone after installing first)
You could try asking in the G2 forums if it works for them ?
Edit - sounds like it does work on the G2, might be worth trying what they suggest ? - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=811105

[Q] LG G2 D802 & HBS-730, no voice dial.

My Bluetooth LG HBS-730 connected with LG G2 D802, firmware version D80210b-ESA-XX.
Everything is ok, but voice dialer (briefly press call button in BlueTooth) is not working.
My LG G2 Voice Mate give error message "Connected Device doed not support Support Bluetooth Voice Recognition. Please disconnect Bluetooth then try again".
In other Phone (S4 & Note2), all function running well, so it is not Bluetooth problem.
Is anyone have similar problem?
Are there some setting need to configure so Voice Dial can work?
Nvm, it isvthr ROm seem no support thr voice dial, try with other BT same result. Waiting for the update, if any.

Bluetooth headset will not launch voice dial of google now

For some reason, pressing the phone button on my Bluetooth headset (Scala Rider), will not launch google now, or any other app on my LG G2. It seems like the phone do not recognize the headset as handsfree kit.
Anyone has an idea how to solve this issue? I’ve checked the headset set with some other phones (GALAXY 3, Optimus G) and it worked fine.
thanks,
same problem here

Hi, I have the same issue! I've been searching for a solution for a while without success.
I have contacted the LG support and they confirm to me that there is no voice call function through bluetooth headsets.
My model is LG G2 (Stock SW Version D80210a-EUR-XX).
The following are the attempts have made:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2476080&page=5 (post 43)
NOTE: I have Google Now instead of Google search and I use Cyberon Voice Commander instead of Voice Dialer
-I've tried Bluetooth Launch
-I've tried VoiceDialerLauncher.apk (Post 10 Quote: "It is because phone launch MIC_VOICE_COMMAND intent action instead of VOICE_COMMAND. I wrote small application that intercept MIC_VOICE_COMMAND and run VOICE_COMMAND. I tried it with motorolla Voice Commands (installed on system partition) and it is works fine.")
-I've tried Tasker AUTOVOICE!
I think the solution is quite simple, for example with an xposed module, but we have to make our request to be take into account seriously.
Please keep us in touch if we found a solution!
Hi, I have the same problem. Has anyone been able to fix this?
I tried to copy all Bluetooth files from a D801 ROM with no luck... Phone is Bricked, if anyone can help im sure its easy to enable HFP in our version.
Hi Guys, got a solution for you... Sort of...
What I found you can do is remap the redial action on your headset/car to activate the voice dialer app. Just download an app called "Smart Bluetooth Headset" by Yassen Dobrev https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.yado.btbut
Then set it to remap the Redial Button to open your favorite voice dialer.
This might not be what we where looking for but it will do the trick handsfree.
Best
I have the same problem; the phone button does not work in both my intercom-headset (Sena SMH5) inside my helmet and in my car stereo bluetooth hands free phone.
I tried changing this file /system/etc/bluetooth/audio.conf as in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1023193 but no luck
I heard that with CyanogenMod roms there is not this problem, but I prefer to stay with the stock rom.
Anyone has come up with a solution?
