Yes, especially when I paid £229 6 weeks ago! The only thing I can fault with this tablet is the battery life. I get about 6 hours screen-on time.

yes expansys.com are currently selling at reduced price of £199.99 as well which is where i got black Gpad 2 weeks ago and loving it...i love the ui where others dont

Presumably these price drops (along with the fact it's not actually available in any stores) means they're not shifting as many as expected.
I hope this doesn't put LG off making a G Pad 2 because if they do - and it's an improvement in screen performance and battery life while otherwise being cut from the same clot - it'll be up there with the very best. TBH I don't have an issue with the screen anyway, but I suppose it can always be better.

Hehe I bought one on the same offer just before Xmas.
But I don't mind, I've thoroughly enjoyed using it and I still think I had a bargain at £229.
I'm actually wondering whether to get one for the missus at £179.

They really wanted to sell me the extended warranty. NOPE.
So far I love the tablet. Wish the Power Cord was a Little Longer.
Got mine today... Loving it so far (just wish I had the 3.1 upgrade)... I'll get to that when I get home.
Yeah, the power cord definitely needs to be longer.
I had to pay $470 with tax a couple of months ago. :\
i wanted to buy another but the coupon is not valid online =(

Did everyone wait the full 4 hours to charge before using it? Or is that just bs?

Oh I'm sure it works right away no problem, but overall does this affect long term battery? I'm assuming it may require the battery to be recalibrated at some point for optimal performance/capacity. This is more of a general battery question, not specific to the A500...

I plugged mine in, it was full charged in less than 2. Good thing I don't think I could have waited any longer. The quick start guide said 4 hrs and the instructions said 8 I think. And I think you should be able to plug it in and turn it on, they just mean don't turn it on and drain the battery before giving it a full charge.
Just did it!

This is good news even for us early adopters who paid the full $450. Pretty much the rule of thumb on XDA is the more popular the device the more development occurs for it! I'm usually NOT an early adopter and I don't think I've ever paid MSRP on any other electronic device I've ever purchased, but even at MSRP the A500 was the cheapest, best tablet out there, so I still feel liked I saved quite a few $ over, say, an iPad or iPad2 or Xoom, etc.
If the price goes any lower, it's going to be cheaper than my HTC Evo phone was -- subsidized from Sprint!
I work for Staples and the first I heard of this coupon was this thread.
I freaked for a second because I just bought my Acer 5 days ago, when we had the $50 off coupon on Any Laptop/Tablet. That was valid 7/13-7/16
I pad around $350 for the tablet after that and my employee discount.
I texted my manager. Tomorrow I'm getting a price guarantee exchange.
After my discount and tax, I'll pay roughly 280 for it.
We have to push the warranties, for no other reason than to keep our jobs.
We don't earn anything from it, other than a pat on the back from big brother, and momentary job security. In today's economy, Staples doesn't offer us any legitimate cut of the ridiculous profits of these plans, unless you work in one of the top 5 selling stores in the US. Then you might get an extra $50-100 a MONTH. Which isn't much incentive for the kind of pressure they put on us.
And if we don't sell, we get disciplined, in terms of hour cuts or termination.
However I will say in retrospect, the warranties on the tablets are a bit better than the laptops. You get battery coverage and they're all accidental. You break it? -- Battery stops holding a charge? Replacement or reimbursement.
If you break down the price divided by the amount of time monthly, it costs and covers things on par with cell phone insurance, except unfortunately it has to be paid entirely up front.
That's my two cents, from an Easy Certified Tech, desperately searching for a real tech job in a crappy economy.
Sweet! thanks man
Possibly going to get this. Do you think this is still a good buy? Will the tablet remain relevant for a while? Can't beat the price, that's for sure.
SO listen to this...
Went to the store. They listed it at $449. I asked them to look it up and they said they'd give it to me for the online price of 399. The the dude came back and told me he was out except for one that was returned. I asked if he'd give me a discount on it and he said 10%. When I checked out, with the coupon, it all came to 289 after taxes! Same 14 day return and warranty. There was nothing wrong with it. If there is, I can go return it for a new one if I so wish...or at least return it.
This was seriously the deal of the century! xD
I got my A500 32GB from CostCo on 7/4 -- $500ish after taxes. Took a CWM backup after rooting. Came with the annoying Acer case and HDMI cable.
(I got an HDMI cable off ebay for pennies.)
Got this 16GB Staples model for $300.
Went on Amazon, got a nice case and a shiny 32GB SD.
Everything aside, the A500 is pretty much the best. Same specs, no fuss, runs every ROM -- what's not to like?

Galaxy note 3 Simfree UK Price?

Hey everyone, anyone got any idea how much the note 3 will be simfree in the UK I've got an s3 at the moment and I bloody hate it need something a lot more powerful with a better screen and screen size. I'd be willing to pay like 500-550 although wouldn't be willing to pay over the odds like 700 for it or what they normally try to charge. So yeah anyone got any idea on how much the note 3 will be simfree only as I really don't want to be stuck in and tied down to a contract.

I went with clove again this time. Although Handtec is cheaper but after my horrible experience with them for my GN1 (I don't know if you remember it, I have mentioned it last year) I have decided never to buy from them again.
I have also had a pretty bad experience with DHL last year for the delivery of GN2, so this time I went with the slightly more expensive FedEx ;p

Had to return 2 consecutive GN1 to them which cost me over 200 bucks because the first one had a bad screen bleed and second with bad dead pixels.
DHL last time had a 2 days deals with the shipping of my GN2 and lost the tracking those 2 days! So decided to spend a couple of dollars more and go with FedEx this time
So what colour have you chosen this time?
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
wow that's epic **** luck. I got a 29" monitor the other day and came home, always dread turning on first time and seeing a dead pixel. I had about 8. had to drive alllll the way back. just a major mission. overseas would be even worse lol, no compensations for our shipping eh.
I went black, I've always done black/silver/dark. anything white and I feel like someone might comment on my iphone -_-
I think I waited last time only white was available for the note 2? or something like that, I just held off until the silver was available, think it was the note 2?
what color did you go?
what, spigen screen protectors are mid october in your hands? fck need a temp screen protector asap. link me to what you got? curious to see.
I was going to do a hybrid case but I don't like our already large phone, to be larger. that's why I've always got back replacements, never back/sides or even a complete case that covers the back piece.
from what I read, the spigen screen protector I got from amazon is available 20 september, say 10 days to get here. makes 30th, then if the note 3 is released 25th, say 5 days which is what I can remember how long it took last time, might both be bang on? and 10 days for the spigen is stretching it, I reckon it'll be like 5 days or 7 max

Price Drop at Amazon 12/7/14

Most variations have dropped in price $50 as of 11:00 pm est on 12/5/14 at amazon. I noticed earlier they pulled the 32gb black stating "because of problems". Now that they are selling them again, I hope they might be the supposed, updated version.
I saw this earlier today at work and used it to price match my purchase at Best Buy right before Thanksgiving. It was the same $349 on black friday but I was too lazy and never got around to calling this price match in. I was kicking myself and was quite happy to see it drop again today!

Sorry for opening a new thread, I didn't see it until now.
Price matched at BB online, they shipped it yesterday, I received it today, it's going back tomorrow. October model, squishy back, horrid light bleed, and the volume and power buttons are nearly recessed into the chassis. Left it charging for 4 hours and got 35% battery. I love the tablet, but HTC made this an epic fail. I hope I can get a good one, I love the screen and the 4:3 ratio is great.
White one seems to be a better build (N=1)

Yes I did, probably could have gotten it for less elsewhere/online but couldn't be bothered waiting as my current phone is in poor shape.
I got one from Harvey Norman on Friday, got it down to $667. I've bought loads of phones and electronics stuff from overseas before, thought I'd get this locally because I've never had an issue so surely my luck will run out.
Incredible battery, great reception, Moto Display will not function at all even after factory resets but on the other hand, it's not distracting me flashing/breathing so I'm not too fussed about it. Feels like a house brick, l'm happy with it. People reckon the low light camera is crap. It's certainly not on par with say, an S7, but it's not as bad as people reckon.

And you're right, the HTC 10 is at JB for $899 right now, which is a lot more phone for the money, and I very nearly got that instead, but decided I wanted the big battery. Try and talk them down a bit, they'll try and get extended warranty out of you for $120 or whatever though.
Like I said, sooner or later my luck would run out with these overseas purchases, but I've got a family now, I need a phone and I can't be stuffed with overseas warranty processes if it came to that. Everyone's different, I think Clove has them pretty cheap as well.

thinking of using the amex/harvey cashback deal and get one myself.
only thing holding me back in the camera quality in low light, however anandtech's review seems to show its not as bad as what the rest of the 'net is saying.
Thinking of getting one too, using the AMEX cashback deal from HN
Although, I am currently using Nexus 6P on 7.0 - wondering if Z Play is a downgrade for me
I have read positive reviews all over though, and I sort of need a change from 6P (year old now)
What do current users suggest - keep my Nexus 6P or get the Z Play (the price is tempting, thanks to AMEX deal)

I am currently using both phones. The Nexus 6P is so attractive due to latest software and features, especially with developer previews, but the Moto Z Play has been fantastic. I am a medium user, but with whatever optimization they have going the battery life is phenomenal! Off of the first charge I got over 4 days with 8+ hours screen time. Haven't noticed any performance hiccups but I am not a gamer. Received the phone on Friday and just charged it again this morning, Wednesday.
So the choice amounts to latest software faster or best battery life (at least that I have experienced on Android) ever.

Nexus 6P sort of renewed my interest with 7.0, but battery life has taken a turn for the worse, so yeah that's that. I guess I just need a change now, and MZP seems to be the best in price-range to be my daily driver for the next 12 months
I am curious though, are you evaluating yourself, which one you will keep in the long run ?
Just received my moto z play from HN for $660 (had $300 worth of gift cards so effectively paid $360). Worth trying to haggle with them now since both Officeworks and Good Guys also sells them and they sell the white models to boot unlike HN who only sells the Black model.

Short aswer is covid-19..
Long answer. The OnePlus 8 Pro was out of stock the first time around when pre-orders were made. It took less than a minute for me to put the OnePlus 8 Pro into my cart, sign in to PayPal and go back to the OnePlus site and they were sold out that quick. Second time around when they made the full launch I was already signed into PayPal and after I made my purchase and probably less than a minute I refreshed the page and they were sold out. So long answer these phones are high demand even at $1,000 a pop.
Buying out right seems no stock anywhere even amazon haven't had stock for weeks now ,
again prob down to manufacturing sites not operating during covid , I gave up waiting and ordered through three network in the UK only place seem to have stock rather more expensive buying out right from them I ended up just getting one on a 24 month contract hot the glacier green 12GB coming tomorrow fingers crossed [emoji1696]

80 something? Holy moly, I got it for 60 something on launch day and I though that was expensive! That's with unlimited everything, was cheaper without.

I mean to buy outright with 3 it 975 then I have a to buy a sim and the lowest 1 they do is a 10 pound 1. So that is 985 for a phone which is 899 to buy everywhere else. I don't know how 3 can do that.
Its bit ridiculous and don't understand how they can charge more than the manufacturer Rrp tbh
Suppose they need make something on it I bought the oneplus 8 out right from amazon have donated that to the Mrs as her iPhone died couldn't justify another 1k nearly to buy out right so went with the £29 up front fee and £52 a month tariff little more than I'd want to pay a month tbh but I did go for the 12gb 256gb model so that bumped it up and I get 5G as well so not so bad , just had dpd update arriving around 11:30/12:30 [emoji51][emoji7]

Got my new 1 literally just now
Hola
It seems like you Europeans have access to buy the device at either local retailers (carriers) and even online directly from OnePlus (even though it is currently out of stock). In Canada we can only buy it online from OnePlus, it they have been out of stock for more than 1 week. Not sure why OnePlus doesn't have ample stock for a newly released device. I am also hoping that the next wave of devices have little or no screen issues. If you look at SuperSaf's latest review of the OnePlus 8 Pro, you'll see that even he had a device with screen issues so I know that the issue isn't as small as some tout it to be!

I ordered mine from OnePlus directly this Sunday and today receive at Europe(Latvia) without any issues.
I don't think eBay links are allowed here. But I've found myself using my iPhone more so I have my 256GB Ultra Marine Blue 8 Pro on eBay. Included is the wireless charger and some cases. I also put a red DBrand skin on it so I will leave that on and also include an extra one. If anyone is seriously interested you can PM me for the link. Buy It Now is $1,099 because it's got the charger and over $100 In cases. You can also bid.
This is for USA!
