Hey guys, anyone know where to get cheap microSDHC? I bought a 4gb one for $15 including shipping but have lost it and they don't sell it for that anymore. Any help? Anyone got a used one that wants to upgrade and willing to let go for cheap?

Ebay or Amazon
http://www.ecost.com/
Yeah I would try ebay but I am tired of the fake memory cards that they are selling all the time. Even from Ebayer's who have almost 100% feedback and tens of thousands of feedback, I still received fake memory cards. This is because people don't know it is fake until they fill their memory cards up later and it doesn't work. I recently bought a 2GB memorystick pro duo and it could only hold 1GB and then the whole card became corrupted when I filled it past 1GB.
look no further then here:

give "kms108" a PM and he will set you up ... cheap ( very cheap compared to what's out there ), brand names ( not fake .... and fast shipping.
I'm currently waiting for larger capacity and will also order from him ( already got 2 x 8GB MicroSD from him ... happy customer

I'm looking at getting a 32gb micro sdhc card for the phone.
First, any suggestions on where to buy and brand?
Second, is the phone capable of handling ask classes and taking advantage of the speed of higher classes?

Why do you need a 32GB Micro SDHC card? The phone already has 16GB built in (2GB for apps and 14GB for storage). But if it is something that you really want then, I believe Verizon is selling a 32GB SD card for $99.99.
http://www.sandisk.com/products/mobile-memory-products/sandisk-microsdhc -- I believe $99.99 was only for Droid X buyers.. i HIGHLY SUGGEST that this is not recommended because the price gap between a 8GB SD Card and 16GB SD Card is not worth it especially with the built in 14GB.. why do you need so much?
You can get a 32gb class 2 on amazon for around $130 here
they have a 32 class 4 for $77 here
I would suggest a 16 gb card for much less.
You can get a 16gb class 6 for $72 here
You can get a 16 class 4 for $35 here
and a class 2 for $23 here
Enjoy!
When I got the phone I replaced the 2 gig sd card came with the phone with my old 8 gig sandisk class 2 card that I was using with my G1. I realized immediately that phone slowed down on sd access so whatever you get make sure you get at least class 6.

Same except I moved the Avatar movie files to the previous SD Card and formatted it to be 100% FAT32. 8GB Class 6 card
@PathogenX: You forgot to include the Shipping & Handling and possibly taxes (varies between different states).
Transcend 8GB Class 6: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820208453 -- Good offer; been using this for a LONG time on my G1 and now Vibrant. And 32GB Class 6 (if there are even such thing) isn't even worth it. 32GB in general wouldn't be worth it considering the price gaps as I mentioned previously. Newegg for most states doesn't take sales tax so thats also a plus. Browse around Newegg if you're looking for a 16GB, they usually have the lowest prices for SD cards.
I don't think you should be talked out of getting 32GB, if you want it.
I'm saving the $100 b/c I don't have an immediate need. I have the above Transcend 8GB C6 card, and it's great: 8mb write, 11mb read.

The reason why I want 32gb is that I want to carry my entire music collection with me, which is well north of 20 already and I wasn't room to grow plus store apps, videos, pics, etc.
Problem is it is hard to find 32gb cards out there. I've seen a few on amazon, but class 4 seems the best available. I was wondering if that's good enough or if I should keep looking.

Apps have its own dedicated storage (2GB) out of the 16GB so really you have..
14GB + Whatever the size of your SD card will be. Keep in mind that the "classes" play a huge role. I mean honestly.. is all of that stuff necessary to have on your phone?
You can have the pictures on your Facebook, Photobucket, etc.. basically cloud and they don't take a lot of space at all (unless they're taken with a $2000 camera and non-compressed). Videos, you would only keep what you want to watch and not always just leave it there.
I still love my Vibrant but I rather have a dedicated music player for my music, and thats what my iPod is for.

I hear ya. I formatted my 16 gig card from my now retired HD2 so I could test the music player before buying a bigger card. So far, I'm impressed. I actually prefer the mp3 player on the Vibrant to my ipod.

I would simply prefer to have only one device and not carry more. Everyone does things differently, to each there own.
Apparently though, finding a 32gb card of class 6 or above is near impossible. So it seems I either need to wait a while or come up with some scheme to get by with less.

Why is everyone trying to talk him out of getting a 32gig card? Its his money let him spend it how he wants too.
I haven't seen any class 6 32gig cards, 32gig cards are still fairly new. I have a class 2 16gig card from my HD2 and I use it just for music and movies. It work fine takes a sec or two too load the music. I think a class 4 would be ok if you are just using it for music.

Because we're "trying" to help him out to make him spend his money on things that could be more beneficial to him?
If somebody asked for advice on a new computer for gaming and he specifically wanted a laptop for highend competitive gaming, would your logic of "oh its his money, let him spend it the way he wants to" work? No. people would try to talk him out of it because thinking rationally, it doesn't make much sense. Is there a use of 32GB? yes. If he got a 16GB card that would be 30GB already. If he got a 32GB card he wouldn't have to be worried too much about always replacing things on his SD card It has its pros and cons, but the cons definitely outweigh the pros. Because I know for me when I watch a movie, after I'm finished.. I'm never going to watch it again... at least not for a while and thats just not worth keeping it on your SD card or phone's internal.
Throughout time, SD cards will be cheaper and cheaper because of data inflation anyway.

A 32gig card is not going to ruin his phone. A 32gig card serves a purpose for him and is cheaper and easier than getting a second mp3 player.

I never said a 32GB card was going to ruin his phone at all. You know that there are other ways of getting music played on the Vibrant right? There are MANY alternatives such as Pandora, Slacker, Last FM, Cloud Sync, and more.
All which take a lot less room than storing a bunch of songs on your SD card.
Not to mention but with that much music on a SD card. Android lacks a syncing program to sync music and keep everything organized. I know HTC is working on that but it will most likely be limited to HTC devices only.
And really.. if you're going to have 32GB of music, you're not ever going to listen to every single one of them. It's not necessary. And I rather watch movies on a bigger screen than the Vibrant, if im on a road trip or something of that sort.. it'll make sense but if im not, I'm not going to leave movies on my phone. If i do, I'll watch and get rid of it and put it back on when I plan to watch it.
Be glad that Samsung even provided the 16GB (14GB space; 2GB apps) otherwise you wouldn't even have that to work with. I know you'll probably bring up the area on battery usage with the phone using all that power on 3G and streaming and whatever. But every phone has its limitations, a phone is not a computer.. it cannot do everything that you want it to do.
Also it doesn't matter if its "cheaper" because in the end, he's paying more for his money. I just don't understand why you don't want people pointing out the other options that are available for him aside from his desired method.
You should just get the 32 gb card. I got mine from verizon for 100 bucks put all my music on it, ditched the ipod and never looked back.

What is your point? The OP wants HIS music. And maybe the OP will be somewhere he can't stream over the network, it happens, you know.

Finally you start to get real when you say "I". What you say is about YOU. Not about the OP. But your needs are not his. I am with the OP, I want to carry all my music collection with me, and I'm not going to explain why to someone who can't even tell the difference between their own wants and someone else's. And my collection fits on a 160GB iPod, but not on an 80GB so I have to pick and choose when I use a smaller device. I want to know about 64GB cards, and 128GB cards, eventually.

He didn't ASK for your opinion on alternatives, he said he wants to carry HIS music collection with him. Go ahead on point out alternatives, but stop acting like your viewpoint is the only valid one--it isn't. And if you want to start a new topic on how anyone who disagrees with you is wrong, go ahead, but stop polluting this topic.
As for my advice for the OP, go for the 32GB card, get the faster one.

First off, I never said or acted upon that my viewpoint is the only "valid" way. There is no such thing because there are many ways of doing the same thing.
It's not justifiable to make a NEW thread continuing from a previous thread, thats what responses are for. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and debates/arguments will rise upon that. I'm not going to be ridiculed by you because I'm simply stating what I feel about 32GB sd cards.
If you don't like arguments then maybe you shouldn't read forums because that is exactly what forums are all about its a place where people join together and state their opinions about things.
And what is this so-called "opinion on alternatives" since when did alternatives become opinions? All I simply did "think out the box" and stated my personal experiences using them. Sorry if this offends you!
And your advice doesn't even fall into what the OP is asking for. The OP is asking for brand names and places to get 32GB cards... not whether if I should get a 32GB SD card. And I pretty much gave him the answer to what he was looking for in the second post with Blueman101 providing a direct link to what I was talking about.
Oh and before you try to say I'm contradicting myself, I'm a person that likes stating the other options that he is able to choose from.
I'm not deciding on what he should do and what he shouldn't do... thats for him to decide.
Edit: Just noticed that you said "HIS" music. Have you even tried Last FM, Pandora, or Slacker? they're pretty much online radio stations that YOU can customize and they have a lot of the music that you have already. Based on what you listen to, they contribute to your radio and you can expand your music choices. It plays songs that it might think you will like, it is absolutely fantastic technology. If all you want to do is listen to YOUR MUSIC ONLY, then i seriously doubt that because people who listen to music will always want more and more music to listen to.
Not to mention, you have ABSOLUTE full control over it. If you don't like it, you can press skip or I think theres a button in there that says to never play this again (thumbs up and thumbs down).. after a while, the system will start to know what kind of music you're into and overall its just a good experience.
P.S. welcome to xda PhilSlater
Also-- this thread isn't all about the OP, there could be other people on the forum who found the topic name "SDHC" to be interesting and looking to make a purchase on a SDHC card and I'm pretty positive that they appreciated the other choices on SDHC cards.

I have a high end competitive gaming laptop, or was a year ago. Probably the best money I have ever invested. Bad analogy.
I could go in to a whole debate to prove my point about laptops>computers, but that would be a different topic and forum haha. So I won't reply to any more posts about it on this topic/forum.
But, would I be okay with a 8 gig class 6? I don't really want to use this phone as an mp3 player or media hub, just to play games(ps1, n64, gba) and be a smart phone.

It was originally, "where can i download European ROMs for my vibrant" but I changed that. But yeah you're right, highend gaming laptops are there but most competitive players (tournament play, CEVO, WCG, etc) don't play on laptops for gaming. Kind of like competitive players (professionals) using wireless mouses.
Just that you can get a lot more out of your system by just building a computer with parts rather than waiting for a manufacturer to build your system and you're unable to do any upgrades by yourself.
@But, would I be okay with a 8 gig class 6? I don't really want to use this phone as an mp3 player or media hub, just to play games(ps1, n64, gba) and be a smart phone.
And yeah.. it would be fine, ROMs for PS1 are about ~700MB per disc. The transcend one that I posted is a pretty good price, Class 6 as well. If you're going to store a lot of ROMs, I'd go with a 16GB or just buy multiple 8GB sd cards. You could also store them on the Samsung's 16GB that pre-exists (14GB since 2GB are used towards apps)
So has anyone who has replaced their microsd slot not have any issues? If you did replace yours, then its been almost a month and by now you would probably know if there is an issue or not.
And if so what card did you replace it with.
Just so u know it'll be rare to find anyone with this phone since the only ones who got a hold of it had to have access to Microsoft stores which are rare. And even if u had access to ms stores, u were lucky if you got one since they were very limited.
And say they got one, the odds that they knew about xda developers is low. Very low. I mean xda is huge, but there arent a lot of users compared to the shear number of devices actually sold by a company.

So,
did anyone who received their DVP tried to change the SD-card? Has anyone found a (confirmed) (un)official list of cards that are compatible or seem to work perfect?
I'd like to have it here before I order my DVP
Thanks!

Yeah, I've read that one, so guess it will work, but since Microsoft announced that not just any high class would work, I had hoped some users would have started testing to see which would be best... And I've also read that it's not overal throughput that is important, but random read/writes...
