I apologize if this has already been answered, I couldn't find a fix anywhere. I rooted my Note 3 a few days ago(Saturday), I have only installed xposed framework and some modules. Last night out of nowhere I noticed my status bar was missing and only appears in certain apps or if I swipe down for the notification shade. I have retraced my tracks to see if I accidentally checked something and nothing has made it come back. I haven't unrooted it though. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mine done this exact same thing. I had to wipe and re-flash CM -- Not sure what caused it, Suggestions were Expanded desktop - but I didn't enable that.

I have a TMo N3 model and my wife has an ATT N3 model. Both of us have an occasional issue where our Notification Bar becomes unresponsive for some reason. We have to restart the phone to get the Notification Bar to respond. Anyone else have this issue or a resolution?

I had that issue, but was caused by thw xblast module of the xposed framework, are you using it, if so, thats it
Crap I am using Wanam module in Xposed. That must be the issue. Thanks.

It won't be Wanam unless you have centred your clock?
It'll be a mod via Xposed FW, lot of people have Wanam cause of the Official status including myself, and never no issues with notification bar.
I didn't mess with my clock at all. I did hide NFC, Two Line Date, and Custom Carrier though.

Probably because you have hidden NFC (incidently my NFC doesn't show up at all even when on) and changed carrier stuff. try disabling them and see if that is the issue.

It looks like it might have been the hidden NFC icon. I resorted that back and haven't had the Notification Bar freeze ever since. Thanks for your help tracking it down.
I upgraded my phone yesterday to 6.01, and I'm running stock rooted. Ever since the upgrade, some of my quick tiles are mislabeled. Some examples are that it says hotspot under flashlight, and pattern required when you restart under the airplane mode iconView attachment 3581290
Also, my lockscreen has the clock in the 24 hour format.
Is anyone else having this problem, and do you know how to fix it?
Thanks!
Do you have Xposed/Gravity Box installed? I have noticed on previous devices that when you update Gravity Box it can cause things to display in the wrong spots or look odd.
You could also try going to System UI Tuner and turning those tiles off and back on again.
I don't have xposed installed. I tried to delete the icons and added them back, but they are still mislabeled.
You flashed the key swap. Not compatible with 6.0.1. You need to flash the new version. I had the exact same thing.

Thanks so much! That did the trick. It did not occur to me that switching the softkeys would cause that problem. I will definitely remember this for the future.
Hi! My I am on 5.0 using the stock Samsung TouchWIZ ROM (I heard you can't dial 911 on custom ROMs on this phone so that terrified me) but anyway I have Wanam Xposed installed and it has an option for displaying the date in the status bar along with the time. The time only shows up. Not the date. If I tell Wanam to move the clock to the center, it will do that, which is weird because it has SOME control over the clock but cannot seem to get the date up there?
I also installed GravityBox and surprisingly a lot of features work however, just like Wanam, I can't seem to get the date and/or day of the week to show up in my status bar.
Anyone know what's going on? Thank you!
Not all features work. That's known.

I don't mean to sound dumb but why would it be an option then? I thought the point of Wanam was to make options available that worked with Samsung phones.
I am not complaining. I am just confused as to why the option would be there then. Similarly, some options using GravityBox work just fine that aren't in Wanam, such as adjusting the brightness by swiping across the statusbar and clicking back twice to enable/disable screen rotation.
when swiping notifications from notifications panel using right to left swipe gesture to dismiss notification, the device goes to lock-screen (gets locked), interestingly this doesn't happen when swiping from left to right to dismiss notification. This has been around since 8.1 released for mia1, i have been waiting for any ota to fix this but this hasnt happened yet so i felt to report the situation. The reproduction rate isnt 100% but it does happen often so be patient while addressing this bug
Steps to reproduce
1. swipe down to get to the notifications panel
2. dismiss a few notification using RIGHT TO LEFT swipe
3. profit
Reproduce rate-50%
i have posted the bug to miformus to, feel free to give your opinions there too. Here's the link to the bug report - http://in.miui.com/thread-465-1-1.html
update: substweaks is behind this, i'll grab a log and report to the dev. What happened was system ui used to crash while swiping notifications in a specific manner as mentioned when substweaks overlays are installed, this ui crash instantly brings the ui to lock screen.
So you are on stock without any modification?
Tell us what modification you made Xposed module or magisk etc

You don't have any signature bro
So yes report bug and wait as you're not even rooted
I've just dismissed 30 notifications right to left and then 30 left to right, screen didn't lock a single time. Probably something on your phone doing it..?
okay thanks for input guys, i am pretty sure substratum is behind this, substweaks to be accurate.
I searched thoroughly and couldn't find a thread or a fix. Where do we edit the quick settings in the notification pulldown? Mine is blank, and I don't readily see it in Settings, nor is there an edit function in the pulldown. Suggestions?
You don't have the editing pencil icon on there?

Nah, it's straight blank...
Someone else here solved that by rebooting the phone. Afterward the pencil icon appeared and they were able to set it up. Can't remember which thread at this point.
I've rebooted twice. No success...
Pull down the notifications and then pull down again on the (blank for you currently) quicksettings section and you'll see pencil that lets you edit

Oddly enough, I was able to get the quick settings to show up on the lockscreen. I edited it from there, and voila. It's a wierd glitch...

Thanks for this. JUST picked up mine and was going crazy since I wasn't seeing the toggles. Very odd that it comes up blank like that out of the box.
Hey I found out the issue here. I had the same thing happen with the T-mobile variant. I did a factory reset and restored my google account and it was still missing. I did a second factory reset and didn't restore and sure enough it showed up. I then did the oneplus restore and nothing changed. I then got the phone unlocked and still no issue. After a restart everything was fine and then I did a google restore. I chose only to restore call logs and messages. The second it was done the quick settings disappeared again. This is clearly an issue with google and this device. Not sure if it's a T-Mobile issue specifically

Ah, thank you, that fixed it for me. Mine was looking just like yours. And when I locked the screen and then pulled down the notifications drawer, a pencil did appear which let me fix it all up.
I think I might know what broke it for me. When I upgraded my OnePlus 5 from OxygenOS 5.1.7 to 9.0.3, I still had jOnePlus Tools [adb/root] by JRoot3D.dev installed, and it was changing how many quick settings tiles are shown after one swipe down (in the single row). I think it was essentially doing this:
Code:
adb shell settings put secure sysui_qqs_count 8
When I used the app to change that number, all my quick settings tiles disappeared. The app has not been updated in a while, so I'm going to keep it off my phone until it's updated for Android Pie
Just as a quick update on this. This is still a problem on the T-Mobile device on 9.0.13 fully stock.
I guess this must then mean that the quick setting cannot be hidden on the lockscreen...

Actually, I think I found a better solution here.
The trick seems to be that on the unlocked version of the shade, the pencil and user switcher icons only show up when you expand the QS panel. However, if you don't have enough icons in the panel to force the need for the additional row (there is a little hint that shows up when you drag an icon that indicates that you need at least 6 icons), then you can't swipe it down, and there no icons or any warning of any sort are shown.
The shade on the lockscreen doesn't appear to enforce that icon minimum, so the pencil and user switcher show up fine (perhaps this is due to the fact that on the lockscreen, the notifications themselves don't live in the shade as they do when the device is unlocked).
It also seems like older OOS versions didn't enforce that icon minimum, so if you only had, say 4 icons (not sure who would do that), then did an upgrade, you would have this strange behavior.
