Hi xda people I have a problem I dropped nexus 4 about 6 months ago and sold to workm8 which he fixed himself for 90quid. I was able to use wugs toolkit and stock to unroot to 4.2.2 which works then I tried locking bootloader and ota to 4.3 which bootlooped. I also try to revert ro stock and unlock to 4.4.2 but same any ideas? Out of ideas im guessing maybe nand block is not writable maybe? I did drop 3 ft. Did you wipe after you flashed the KitKat factory images?

Does the phone display the proper baseband and imei?

Edit I tried to wipe data and cache thru stock recovery after ota update to 4.4.2 still not 100% from wugs
Not sure I presume I did. I definetly did wipe before going to kitkat by booting custom recovery from wugs and then reverting to stock 4.2.2 I only tried ota update from there. I think when I then tried 4.4.2 same way that 4.2.2 worked I may not of. Guess ill try again at some point but he just wanted to play with new toy so I just put on 4.2.2 for now.
So is the ota flaky as I thought all data would be kept anyway. Thanks for advic3
Imei and baseband show on bootloader but not on hand at mo so dont know baseband it on.
I also tried sideloading stock rooted 4.4.2 zip but same bootloop and sure I wiped after and tried again may be 2rong getting confused I tried for few hours lol

Dunno if it's part of the problem, but remember flashing different versions, make sure that you are using the correct radio.
You can find the IMEI and Baseband in Settings>About phone
Sent with my Nexus® 10 minus 3

Yeah I remember I upgraded or did I downgrade radio about 6 month ago. Ill get the baseband info and get back to you

It's update 4.3 while being rooted with flashed baseband for LTE concern

So I have a rooted stock ROM nexus 4 with flashed baseband from the prev 4.2 version to allow me to turn on LTE connectivity. My concern is I got the ota update notification will I run into problems my phone being rooted and with a different baseband version or will it all configure itself with the update? Also is it still possible to flash baseband back to android 4.2 version to get LTE connectivity? I also have a custom recovery clockwork mod will this error out the update? Thanks for your help
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
The custom baseband or recovery could cause an OTA update to fail. Flashing either would be simple enough to allow the update to pass the patch assertions and complete.

Your phone will not update thru ota, but you have cwm, why dont you download a stock 4.3. Zip and flash tru cwm?
Those zip files are without modem So your LTE modem will stil be there
For ota you need stock ROM, stock kernel and matching radio of the ROM

Hello yea so when I read these posts I already have attempted the update and sure enough it failed I tried thought the ota update and I also tried downloaded the zip file with the update and attempted to flash it using cwm but it still gives me the error and won't update do you think I should flash the original baseband for 4.2.2? And will work?

Try it.

I tried it and no it did not work I flashed to stock baseband for 4.2.2 and also unrooted using the full indoor method found on super user app and no dice

[Q] Very Strange Problem

Hey all, I'm having a problem with my nexus here and its driving me crazy. Basically i was behind on updates and running 4.2.2 (Paranoid Android) until today. I decided I would upgrade to the newest Paranoid android 3.99 RC2. First off, i downloaded the stock nexus 4 images, and flashed em all through fastboot. Then i flashed the newest CWM (6.0.3.8 i think) and proceeded to flash PA.
But when i booted into PA, i had no cell connectivity as well as unknown baseband, imei, and imei sv, even though the baseband is clearly shown in fastboot (its 0.84). I tried reflashing the baseband, no luck. So i reflashed the stock google img's and my imei and everything came back.
So i tried a second time and it still didn't work. Seems like whenever i flash PA, i lose my imei and baseband.
Help me out guys
Anybody?

DID you do a full wipe before flashing?
I would be very careful and stay stock until you get an answer. Without IMEI your phone is illegal and won't work. I've stayed away from C /M as it's buggy and has too much trouble, like this.
Sorry

Try using latest TWRP
I got this last time I flashed paranoid android. I had to use the LG tool and download mode

If you are coming from 4.2 make sure to flash 4.3 Radio and Bootloader!!
Follow this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2389721
Yes, I did a full wipe, even the SD.
I flashed the full 4.3 stock Google image through fast boot first. So I should be totally up to date.
I will try TWRP and see if its the new CWM that's messing things up.

The CWM version you used has a bug which derps your baseband when you flash anything. Simple fix: install any other version of CWM or use TWRP, then flash everything again (radio, rom, whatever). This happened to a lot of people. You'll be fine.

Upgrading to 4.4 kit Kat

Hey guys quick question my n4 is rooted and running cm10.1.3. I never bothered to upgrade to 4.3, so my radio, kernel and bootloader are stock 4.2.2. Is it better to get the ota update and be up on things or flash stock kernel, boot loader and radio for 4.4 when ever there available? Or maybe factory image?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
Just flash the stock images for kit Kat when they are available, right now back up all your data

my friend as this will pop up all over the forum the best thing to do is just wait for a rooted version to show up. I did not upgrade my bootloader and I have not had any issues with 4.3 which mind you is a great running OS you should try it.
I dont understand having root then unrooting to flash stock which you obviously dont like since you run cm and then wait to root it all over again to back an upgraded rooted version of cm...

Question on the way for the custom recovery+kernel guys on 4.3 what is the best to upgrade besides wiping your entire phone and flashing the stock images entirely?.
I think i know 2 ways just not sure they are recommended, 1st is flashing stock kernel + returning recovery to stock (should get OTA)
2nd is flashing only the system.img and the bootloader me thinks.
Feel free to verify this.

You make a lot of sense ,its more of curiosity and so I won't brick my nexus. So I can get away with not upgrading my bootloader for 4.4?
What about kernel, do I need to update that for 4.4 or is that judgement call?

you are asking questions that trial and error are going to figure out for us. Kernels of course if you are on a 4.4 rom you would use a 4.4 kernel. Upgrading your bootloader may or may not be needed but we wont know until kitkat starts popping. everyone said you needed to upgrade bootloader for 4.3 but I have never had any issue at all.... Just wait it out and read read read

Absolutely bro
You do have to be on stock recovery, stock bootloader for the update to go thru properly otherwise it'll fail.

If you are still on stock rom and you just have custom kernel+recovery, U could do the following for not using any current apps or files.
- Wait till your favorite Toolkit (e.g Wug) get updated for 4.4 and then download the official factory rom.
- Extract it and keep all separate zips, like radio, bootloader, system etc.
- Unroot and flash stock kernel
- Flash all previous zips, EXCEPT user.img which will delete everything
- Reroot and U r ready to flash again custom kernel
Maybe a noob question but my n4 is rooted. Will this cause any problems withe the update?

Hello,
My phone has already had the radio upgraded to latest so it can run 4.3. I am rooted, have TWRP 2.6.3.0, will I be ok to flash the PA 4.4 and gapps? I keep posts about folks losing their sdcard data and their custom recovery being removed (not sure how!).
Thanks.

I'm sure that radio doesn't affect your ability to flash certain ROMs so you shouldn't have a problem flashing 4.4. As far as losing SD data not sure how that's happening.

[Q] Upgrade Rooted Nexus 4

I have a rooted LG Nexus 4 running on 4.22 and I am not quite sure how to upgrade it since it has already been rooted. I was hoping to upgrade it 4.4 KitKat. However, I am still new to this and I apologize if this has been answered before. I am new to xda as this is my first post. If anyone can help, I'd greatly appreciate it.

You should be able to take the ota. You will lose root however. If that doesn't work then fastboot flash the stock 4.2.2 factory image. That will remove root and will also wipe your device so backup first.
Gets the wugsfresh toolkit, it'll do everything for you.

New LG G2 OTA Update!!!

In currently running stock firmware but rooted. I'm in the 3 network in the UK. I checked the other night to see if an update was showing and nothing, and I've been checking periodically over the last few weeks.
Tonight I thought I would give it a go and I am currently downloading a 548.36mb update. Does anyone know what this is??

Nope. I'm running stock 4.2.2. I didn't think u would get it as I an rooted.
Went to install it and obviously that's where NY excitement became frustration. I've uninstalled Xposed and done what I can to unroot the device without a PC and an attempting again.
Is there a way to unroot the phone without a PC?

if you have a custom recovery than you need a pc or alot of looking around for the flashable zips of stock recovery but they have flashables of the 4.4.2 update that are pre-rooted so id say flash that when you can
This does not belong in the Development Section; moved here...Thanks.
