Hi everyone, I rooted my girlfriend's .94 and sim-unlocked it using the CDMA Workshop method. Only issue is her signal keeps doing into no service and also displays No Sim Card.
Only way to fix is the enable airplane mode, remove sim card, put sim card back in, and disable airplane mode.
That works for a good while but service is lost again later on.
I tried putting tape on the sim card and it's helped but when she gets a case for her phone, its going to be harder to do.
Help?

The sim card is strictly for 4g, look at the place holder they had in it before you put your sim in. It says "Replace with SIM only after 4g upgrade". If i were you, I would immediately take that sim card out. In order to get 3g on your xoom just take it into Verizon, they just do it automatically. I know this is correct because I am using 3g now.

i dont think that's the problem.. i bought it in Holland (where i life). we dont have a 4g network yet. im sure it's a 3g model. And the shop gave me that SIM card. i already tried a SIM card im using in my galaxy s but that didnt work either....
the APN settings are fine, i checked and double checked it. It shows some bars when i entered the pincode but i dont see any 3g/E/G/H icon next to the signal bars....
Did you reboot after putting the SIM in? If you take it out while it's on and put it back in again it doesn't work till a reboot.
I apologize, I guess I can't really speak for outside the US. Did yours not have a placeholder at all for the Sim slot?

Hello sqx,
I have the same problem with my vodafone sim.
When i put a simcard from another provider in my xoom works the internet fine.
Have you already solved the problem?
Greats Nick
Once it's up and running. Try going into airplane mode. Give it a minute then turn off airplane mode. Then fire up the browser and try to go to google. Attempt to refresh a couple times.
I've had this happen on my 3g connection and it does get annoying but only after it sits around dormant for a while.
it still doesn't work..
Any news?

Since yesterday I am loosing 3g connectivity when my tab lock it self, when I unlock it it says insert SIM. Only way to get it working is to eject the sim and reinserting it, not even rebooting helps. Anyone knows what could be the problem. I have the v, model.

Sounds like a problem with either the SIM card, or the SIM slot.
Have you tried with a different SIM?
Does anyone know how I might try to activate a 4G phone on Verizon's network while here in Alaska? Verizon has 4G towers, but rents 3g towers, and the phones use 3g to activate a SIM card the first time. I have two phones, one I with a SIM card I activated in the lower 48, and it activates any phone I put it into. However, I got another phone and it came with a brand new SIM card, and I start it up and it tries to call the *228 or whatever number to activate itself on the 3g, which does not work, and Verizon is pretty worthless for this sort of thing... Anyone have any ideas?

Verizon should be able to manually activate it if you call them. if they won't the first time then call again. are you trying to have a new phone/line or just wanting to use the phone on your current line? why not put your old sim in?

They could not figure it out... It was possible but difficult back when we only had 3G, but the 4G phones can't activate without a 3G connection... Until VoLTE gets up and running, I assume... The new phone is running with my old SIM, but I wanted to activate the old phone with the brand new SIM. I added a line so I could upgrade without losing my unlimited data, and could find a use for the extra line, but right now no luck.

Has anyone found a safe way to get t-mobile service working on VZW note 3. When i insert my sim card it just says unknown simcard. Thanks for any help and or tips
It's probably a bad sim card it worked perfectly for me in the same situation.

Did you have to flash a rom or unlock the bootloader or anything of that nature?
Just pop a t mobile sim in an it works for me root it and in able hidden menu and turn on band 4 and you will get LTE on t mobile there are a few videos on YouTube that will get you going.

If you are on 4.4.4 band 4 is already enabled. Make sure you put phone in gsm /lte/umts. Mode. Turn off mobile data, reboot phone and turn data back on. You should see 4g lte Icon by signal bars
So is this just for internet? I finally got the h+ to show up but i don't have any voice connection. Will this phone also work with voice as well?
I have a problem with my nexus to 6p , lose the phone connection and I can not get it back , he says only emergency calls and need to reset the device to return the network, please help.
Sounds like a bad SIM card. I'd try getting a new one from your carrier, or taking it out and reseating it in the tray.
getting the same problem, and it's not the sim card
sim card works fine in my galaxy s6
Same problem network goes automatically after 5 minutes and says emergency calls only:crying: very frustrated.
